  1. Pretty horrible night for Czech clubs in Europe, Plzen went out on away goals to Royal Antwerp and Mlada Boleslav went out 0-1 to Steaua Bucharest.

That leaves Slavia, who have yet to play a tie as the sole representative for the Czech Republic in Europe. They now play Cluj in the final champions league qualifier.

On a domestic front, Plzen suffered a defeat at the hands of Slovako and drop down to third. A Lukas Masopust goal was the difference between Slavia and second bottom Slovan Liberic to open up a three point gap.

Sparta continued the shit-the-bed form they have had for a couple of years now, conceding a 90th min goal to Mlada Boleslav in a 4-3 defeat. They currently sit in 7th place.

  2. The summer exodus from Slava continued today, After the departure of stalwarts Simon Deli and Michael Ngadeu, both to Belgian clubs, Jaromir Zmrhal today left for Brescia.

The left winger was a mainstay in the Slavia team and the Czech national team, he ended a 15 year association with the club. The transfer was for around £3.5 million.

  3. week four in the Czech top flight saw Plzen blink first in the title race, On Saturday they were held 0-0 by Bohemians in Prague. Unfortunately Slavia drew 0-0 also today against bottom team Karvina. Sparta later ran out 3-0 winners against Pribram moving them up to fourth, three points off the top two.

Jablonec exited the Europa league, Mlada Boleslav went through to play Steaua Bucharest.

Plzen dropped out of the Champions League qualification and will now play Royal Antwerp in the Europa League qualification.

  4. Part 5 of the Slavia documentary has English subtitles, it follows the team through the double header against Chelsea in the Europa League. Even if you have no interest in Slavia or Czech football, it is a fascinating 50 minutes  of behind the scenes footage at a football club.

I am led to believe it was aimed at a home supporter in main stand that some spectators reported to stewards , well done to them and I am led to believe the club are looking into allegation

It happened at a strange time for it to be a normal public service announcement, thought something must have happened

  6. Mortons number 3 is the worst player I have ever seen in Scottish football and I have watched Ayr for over 30 years. The hotpants wearing chunky goalkeeper was pretty awful as well.

Everything clicked for Ayr in midfield and attack, Docherty was my MOM. Two howlers made the game a bit closer but for the first hour it was as one sided a game as you will see.

Morton were static at the back and, apart from Nesbit in midfield, there was no energy in what they did.

Third round of fixtures this weekend. Plzen and Slavia are mirroring last seasons start by both winning the first three fixtures. Slavia are top on goal difference, thanks mainly to a 1-5 victory against Teplice.
Sparta are currently in 10th, having only played twice but lost to Slovacko on the opening day. Bohemians had a decent win against Mlada Boleslav but have lost the other two games.
In the Europa league, Jablonec are trailing to Pyunik from Albania after the first leg. Mlada Boleslav were 1-1 against Orbadasy of Kazakhstan
Sparta will play Trabzonspor in the third qualifying round
In the Champions league, Plzen drew with Olympiacos

Pyunik are Armenian not Albanian. Stinker of a result regardless

I took a punt at the abbreviation.

Jablonec are like a Czech Motherwell or St Johnstone. about 2500 average gate and a stadium that holds 6000, usually mid-table and have the odd spike of finishing third but never close to winning the league. If the Armenian team are full time, its probably a reasonable result.

Until such time as we have a partner for Moff he is going to have to go on his own up there with support from the wingers.  This is probably our strongest 11 just now.

McCowan partnered well with Moffat up until Saturday. He played out left for an hour and his race was run by the time he was moved in to the middle and was hooked shortly after. playing three up front works with natural wingers playing wide. we played three strikers and asked two of them to go wide.

I'd play Moffat and McCowan up front, with Forrest somewhere in behind. he plays well floating along the front line. Kerr, Kelly and Murdoch in the middle

  10. Image result for inbetweeners gif

I thought when I saw the team, we are trying out something different against a lower league team we should beat, McCowan out wide, Ferguson at right back, no Muirhead or Kerr.

Stranraer had all of the pressure straight away, quick breakaway and it was 1-0. Stranraer had lots of the ball but did nothing with it, we defended well enough but didn't have a forward pass for the majority of the first half. They scored from two corners which will be a big problem if it is not rectified quickly. They had men over every time we went forward and we didn't look like we had a plan B. Stranraer were well organised and killed the game, stopped us playing and scored twice from set-piece. They didn't counter attack but held the ball up and applied pressure. if they had a half decent forward we would have been in real trouble today.

When Doolan went off I though, him and Moffat didn't work, then McCowan played through the middle with Moffat and it didn't work....then Forrest played.........By the time McCowan was moved through the middle his race was run.
Doc, Murdoch and Kelly are to similar to play together. Ferguson cut back to often rather than trying to get past his man, McGuffie and Harvey did the same on the left.

It didn't click today and hopefully it will give McCall a clearer view of what his starting formation should be. I think Doolan and Moore will be better together, McCowan is wasted out wide as is whoever from Kelly, Doc or Murdoch ends up playing on the other side. Kerr runs games and needs to set a tempo from kick-off either start him or leave him out the team.

Unfortunately I don’t work for the club , I only volunteer and try to help out the club , even though on here some people seem to say I am a smug p***k as I know the system , can’t keep everyone happy I suppose 🤔

I called the people on here and twitter smug p***ks, who were having a go at the people who didn't know how the process worked because they had managed to work it out and everyone else must be idiots.

Not people who were trying to help folk

Aye, no idea what the issue is - the guy at the shop phoned me and was talking me through how to log on and access my order and get to the purchases that way as he could read it on his screen, but still nada.   Going into the shop at 9 tomorrow so he can print them for me haha.

Do you have it visible in your account dashboard on the website? there should be a small eye icon you can click to show it.

  13. If you go on an organised pubcrawl you'll get ripped off and end up paying silly money for drinks and end up in Duplex nightclub with all the other stag dos wondering where all the women are.

If you check Menzels Czech football thread in the other football chat forum, there are descriptions of where to check fixtures and get tickets.

As virginton says, if you stay in an area like Zizkov or Prague 2, or over the other side of the river from the main centrum, decent bars are everywhere and you'll be looking under a quid of a beer.

Irish pubs will show football but you'll pay about £5 a pint. They are full of wanks cocked out their heads shouting at each other.

Anyone not on a stag do, this is probably the best bar to watch sports in Prague without getting harassed by a shower of wanks coked out their heads shouting at each other

  14. Sparta's Stadium is probably a 15 min walk up through Letna Park, but Slavia's is out in Prague 10 and takes about 15-20 mins by tram. Can't remember the tram number, but it was easy enough to get to, Bohemians Stadium is a couple of stops before Slavia on the same tram route.

  15. I went to school with a guy nicknamed Mooncat. he was in the army cadets and spent his breaktimes climbing huge trees and sitting at the top of them. He ran everywhere. Someone saw him jumping behind trains at a railway crossing in Gatehead just outside Kilmarnock because he liked the draught. He died falling from rocks at Culzean castle.

There was another guy who found a massive stash of porn mags in woods, hundreds of them. it took him 3-4 trips to get them all home and hidden in his mum and dads garage. he started to sell them at school and was known as Porn king, or PK for short. He got rumbled and ran away from school and decided the best way to destroy the evidence was to burn them all, which he did, still in his mum and dads garage.

  16. The club could have had volunteers out on Saturday outside the stadium asking people if they knew what they were doing and helping them, like they did at the London Olympics and the Commonwealth games. Trying to reduce frustrations and keeping things moving.

Folk not knowing or getting confused and having to stand in a massive queue should have been expected. The assumption that all of our over 60 year old support know how to follow social media channels let alone buy a ticket online, print it out or show a QR code on a phone is a pretty big one.

It is the way forward but there has to be an understanding that, for a Scottish football club, we cant leave fans behind because of technical advancement.

The game its self was a decent match, Falkirk will probably be better than 30% of the teams in the league. A fairly robust team that will match the physical side of league 1 with a couple of decent footballers as well. Ayr got loads of space behind the fullbacks which we got both the goals from.

Kelly looks like a good capture, very good on the ball, tired towards the end and will probably be inconsistent over the weeks and months but definitely a player there. McCowan has scored more than Shankland in as many games, here's hoping he keeps that up. Hard to make a call on Doolan, didn't have much to do but looks like the type of player that would link up well with Moore.

  17. The club could have had folk out in force on Somerset road advising them of what they needed to do, two guys in front of me tried to buy a ticket at the turnstile and didn't know they had to go to the shop. Folk didn't know clearly how it worked and I'm guessing that most of them decided, you know what, I'm just going to buy a ticket at the ground because I don't want to make an arse of trying to buy it on line or not having it right when they get to the gate.

I managed it, but I'm not one of these smug arrogant p***ks who think anyone who didn't was a moron who hates the club, Or asking how the club could have done more, just because you knew and understood the process doesn't mean other people did.

It is a new system, the club released a video the night before the game to explain the detail of how it worked, this should have been out weeks ago with reminders. assuming people will have watched the video or read the tweets on the day of the game was a gamble.

In business you have to make it easy for people to give you money and I don't think the club did that yesterday.
