  1. It's not ridiculous at all, and completely understandable. Food poisoning can make you feel absolutely wretched and wanting to avoid it happening is understandable. Did you report the food poisoning? Even if it did happen again, and people noticed how long you were away it would be none of their business. You wouldn't owe anyone an explanation. I know it's easier for me to say, but try not to worry about what other people might think. As Molotov said, going to the GP is a great first step. I'm glad you've got that lined up for tomorrow. As well as all the things Molotov mentioned (most of which I have used at one time or other - currently fond of podcasts), there are numerous treatment methods that you can access through your GP - including medications and therapies like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (which aims to challenge and change unhelpful thought processes). I hope at least some of what I've written is helpful to you, and I hope your appointment goes well. Jamie.
  2. I wish all of the political parties would f**k off.
  3. If you don't mind me asking - what is the nature of the anxiety? Is it about anything particular - being around people, thinking something bad will happen, thinking you might do something silly and people will laugh etc? I do get anxiety, mostly about going to busy places. If I need to go somewhere like the shops I usually go in the evening because it's usually quieter. I know this is an avoidant behaviour, but it works for me so I do it.
  4. I watched the Darvel v Aberdeen game and Aberdeen were absolutely dog shite. That's why they were beaten.
  5. I'm sure someone on here said someone in their class did a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" like Darth Vader at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
  6. I used to work in a nursing home and one of the residents rolled a big ball of shite and launched it at one of my colleagues, covering him in shite. What makes this more impressive was the resident was blind and had dementia.
  7. According to research, the difference in risk of heart disease, cancer and stroke between light smoking and heavy smoking is not massive. You're better off just not doing it.
  8. Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver which causes it to lose it's function. Steatosis is the fatty liver thing.
  9. If you stop early enough, a lot of the physical effects of smoking i.e. getting out of breath easily, coughing etc can be improved, but if someone was to examine your lungs they would be able to tell that you have been a smoker. The lungs do have the ability to clean themselves, but they do not "regenerate" to pre-smoking state. If you were to be diagnosed with something like COPD through smoking, that would not go away if you were to stop smoking. However, it would not get any worse if you stopped smoking. In short, smoking is a fucking stupid thing to do and will f**k your lungs right up. Don't do it.
  10. Could have been worse. You could have been inhaling crack rock.
  11. Imagine leaving early at 0-1 . It only takes one chance to get back in it, as was proven on Saturday. Get it right up whoever that was.
  12. Yes! I am sure I will die while watching either of these teams one day.
  13. Inspired by @Florentine_Pogen. I used to work nightshift and apparently that takes about 20 years off your life. Do you do or have you done anything that takes years off your life?
