I don't really have much interest in football apart from Ayr United anymore. I think football in general has lost its soul over the past couple of decades, when it became more about money than the actual game. I have absolutely no interest in any of the supposed "Big" leagues or the continental competitions and I don't care enough about any other team to bother going to watch them. If Ayr United folded I'd probably just stop watching football - apart from the national team and the World Cup and Euros.

I've just finished In Dubious Battle...

There were times during the book that I genuinely forgot that it was biographical. You could almost see and smell the places he was describing, such was the vividness of the wonderful writing. It read more like a novel at times. Now I'm onto In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck. There's another writer who makes you see and feel the places he describes.

Scottish football has been ran to suit two particular clubs for decades. Rangers will not produce any incriminating evidence against the SPFL, because to do so would be to incriminate themselves.

Transfer values in general are ridiculously inflated due to the COMMERCIALISATION and CAPITALISM that has corrupted football. Football has been REMOVED from the reaches of the very people who it was created for and sold to suits who care nothing for the game. I, along with millions of others, shall not be attending any football matches until football is returned to the masses.

Yeah, I tried Ullyses a few years ago because of his reputation and couldn't get into it. Dubliners is nothing spectacular tbh. I enjoyed Down & Out alot more.

Finished Down and Out in Paris and London. Really enjoyed it. Great writing. Swiftly followed that with Dubliners by James Joyce. A collection of short stories set in Dublin. Now onto Dead Mans Trousers by Irvine Welsh.
