Looking at our league i can’t see anything else’s that’s going to save it. Clubs have more than halved in 4/5 years and potentially looking at one league next year.
SAFL??0 -
As a player I would much rather be coming home from work in the light nights to train or play a match. With more guys turning away from playing football I think we could try get the opinion of players by some means before dismissing or changing the season
Agreed, but the problem is a significant number of your team will be on holiday and wont be able to train or play. Anyone who says the holidays wouldnt decimate squads is living in cloud cuckoo land.0 -
How much work do the Councils actually do on the parks in these months, bet its not alot?
Councils dont spend money on pitches now unless it is absolutely necessary!!
How many games have u watched in the last year that have been on a mud bath? Players nowadays dont want to play games on mud baths!!
Ur last point about players being away on holiday is nonsense aswell as boys nowadays can be away on stags/holidays/wkds away at any point in the season, I dont know many players that plan there holidays around the season now.
I appreciate u are a traditionalist and to a point so am I but there comes a point where u have to be realistic. Summer football for the Amateurs would improve all aspects of the game.
Pre season is always murder to get numbers for games and to say people holiday just as much outwith the summer is nonsense. The vast majority of players holiday in the summer. Yes, stags and weekends away in the winter etc are more common now than years ago but still far less than summer holidays.

I personally think summer football is the way forward. Everybody would need to embrace the idea including the councils who would make extra revenue during the summer months
Would they not make less money in the winter months?0 -
Summer football is the way forward , parks playable every other week , light nights , midweek games ( away from the mrs for a couple hours is a bonus )
So the pitches are overhauled in October to March when there is no growth??0 -
Can see the benefits of either just scrapping the league (my preference) or, if its possible, finish the season when allowed to play again. Obviously it may be needed to scale back the games in season 2020/21, no cup comps etc, to fulfill that season in the limited time remaining. One thing I dont think you can do is finish the season now and hand out titles and relegate teams. Its unfair as the season hasnt completed.

Semi Final Draw
EKYM or Tollcross v Eastfield.
Shortlees v Drumchapel or Fintry.
Eastfield v Shortlees all day long. IMHO [emoji12]3 -
Is the semis still at hamilton? Should just keep the final there aswell if thats the case
To be fair thats a reasonable shout. Won't be the same but a decent SPL venue.0 -
The Amateur one is at Falkirk The senior cup final is earlier this season due to Euro 2020 the ground needs to be prepared for it.
Not quite the venue for a Scottish Cup Final if this turns out to be true. Difficult for SAFA right enough and outwith their hands of Hampden cancelled.0 -
Could watch this then get the second half of EKYM v Tollcross indoor at Ravenscraig.
What times ko?0 -
Answer to your question mate yip they have folded a few times the current fallin team have reached the east final for the first time hope that helps out [emoji106]
Does seem a touchy point with a couple on here to a pretty reasonable question. Obviously can see both sides but for me if a Club has folded a few times and then someone just starts a Club up using the same name its not the same Club. Basically you could call yourself any Club name that previously folded and claim their titles??? Still its a great achievement to make the East Final

Scottish Amateur Cup Quarter Final
Wishaw High School FPs V Eastfield AFC
2pm ko on the Astro at Wishaw Sports Centre Saturday 29th February 2020.
This for me today, should be a cracker0 -
Well why even bother to mention it then.
Fallin is a mining village thats amateur Football Club has won the EOS Cup 3 times. They have had amateur teams at Sat/Sun over many years some of the teams have done well some not so.
Hope that answers ur question.
Nope. Have they folded a few times? Then restarted?

Good luck to Fallin tonight in East of Scotland SF I hope it is a good game. Cambusbarron a good team from what I have seen this season but I think that if Fallin turn up then I think they will be too strong. Looking forward to the game tonight.
Wee question. I was trying to research Fallin to see a bit about them etc. Have they folded a few times? If so, do they have a history as described on twitter etc. Surely if you fold snd come back later and just call yourself the same name youre not the same Club/team?? Im not wanting this to turn into a debate about certain professional teams if we could keep it to amateur please.0 -
Me for three days.
Thought you were away....2 -
I think it’s embarrassing you can’t spell embarrassing.. Ok it’s not the most important game this weekend. Can we move on.
Clutching mate, riddy1 -
Shortlees are happy about the game being on, NF are happy to help and are happy ours and their game is on, Sandys are happy the game is on, Sandys fans are happy the game is on. The ref the two linesmen and the SAFA officials are happy the game is on, the Shortlees fans are happy the game is on. Spykid, Bingedrinker, and Garybhoy and a couple of others aren’t happy, or personally don’t care if the game is on. I personally I think common sense has prevailed. Thank you NF and Colin, I don’t know if he would want his full name on here, for your cooperation and help in getting this massive fixture for us played this weekend, it means a lot.
I dont think anyone isn't happy your game is on.
I dont think anyone thinks its out of order you asking NF to swap.
I think its really good of NF to swap.
I think coming on and actually saying your game is more important than anyone elses in Ayrshire makes you appear a bit up your own arse. You might, reasonably, think that but to come on and say it is embarrasing.2 -
And you have just admitted who you are, saying i threatened YOU through FB. No one knows that except you and I. You said in a phone call to me the next morning after I Allegedly threatened you, that this wasn’t you. Ha Ha, not much of a cop are you.
Youre making a bit of a twat of yourself1 -
This to me is a poor comment
Totally, dont know the guy, but sounds up his own arse1 -
I'm not saying it's out or order mate. I just dont think it's right to assume your game is more important. It's more important to you and shortlees of course but every clubs game is important to them. Just because a club isn't in the quarter final of the scottish cup it doesn't mean their league or cup match is any less important and I think it's a little condescending that's all. That's brilliant by NF and good on them for doing that. However I dont think many more would have that's all I'm saying. If my team are playing an important match at the top or the foot of the league table with all due respect I couldn't care less that shortlees are in the q-finals of the Scottish cup mate
Agree with this 100%.0 -
Looking forward to Fridays semi final Fallin v Cambusbarron. I hear fallin are very confident.
Heard that also. Still have a sneaking suspicion Cambus name on the Cup.0 -
After watching this game today surely cambusbarron must fancy there chances Fallin nothing special and had it easy after Braehead had a man sent off (wrongly) after about 20 minutes.
Said it from day 1, Cambusbarron for me. Going about their business quietly and effectively.0 -
Needs a rethink now that Giffnock are out I suppose
3 out of 4 not bad0 -
Drumchapel 1 Glenburn MWFC 4
Ooft, shocker, or maybe not?0
