Drops a pound coin it’d hit him in the back of the head. Completely forgot earlier for my initial post, my great aunt is absolutely fucking loaded and the stingiest woman you’ll ever meet. My mum takes her out for lunch and they’ll go to spoons, she’ll get a burger and chips. Maybe only eats the actual burger and a few chips. Out comes the plastic sandwich bags and the chips and burger bun get fired in. She reheats the chips and has them for her dinner. She was moaning to my mum that it was cold Last winter but refused to put the heating as that would cost money. She has investments all over the joint and could easily pay to have it on more often but just grudges paying the money. However, her IFA told her she had to start giving money away so my sister and I got significant gifts from her when we were buying our first houses. She is generous in that sense but seems to loathe spending any actual money on herself

I would reckon you’re probably right. If it’s true we were in for Lafferty (big if) and I am assuming that he’d have commanded a decent/good wage (especially within our wage structure) then I don’t think we’ve signed anyone (barring Lodovica who was waiting on clearance) since those rumours were about. So that says to me there’s a decent bit of budget left over. I reckon from the 21/22 season, Gardyne, Broadfoot and Mckay will all have been on good money and I can’t see that sort of budget reflected in the current squad if I’m honest. Got to also consider that with a squad like that we were making some substantial losses. Perhaps the board have decided not to aim for promotion this season, tighten the belts and hope for mid table and cut the losses or turn a profit (wishful thinking).

It’s much the same as the “No Smoking on NHS Grounds” rule/law they brought in no one really gives a shit and it’s not enforced. Been through to the QEUH a few times over the past few weeks and there’s always folk standing directly outside puffing away.
