  1. Watching it again I see now it was dive from DGW, but a very good one. Not something I like to see, but it's part of the game like it or not. We used to have a player that was good at 'drawing fouls' in the box. The panic when he gets the ball though is clear to see. It's also clear to see where our problems lie, and time now probably, as Mission says, to consider what players will be part of the plan for next season. Going up through the play-offs or even reaching them I think is now beyond this squad, and I don't see much point in rash commitment in the January window without a manager, or if it doesn't fit a longer-term plan.
  2. This is more open communication than we have come to expect, both on squad availability and signing intent. It doesn't take much, and although it's not detailed, it's probably all we need, and encouraging.
  3. Good thinking. I'm just delighted with some speculation.
  4. I feel like I've watched the same game all season.
  5. I saw it the other day, and it does look like no recent progress. I'm hoping maybe contractors back tomorrow, but beyond basic architectural drawings (not civil and structural), I don't believe we have any real detail on the groundwork and overall project programme. It's not possible that a ground survey wasn't carried out at a very early stage. Is it?
  6. Yes these are good points and worth remembering. I certainly didn't set my expectations any higher than where we are, and was happy to settle for a goodish season of building the foundations of a new club rather than promotion this season. Perhaps also it's impatience on my part, and I really don't want to turn on Ellis, but we have a talented and experienced team that likes to play out from the back, easy on the eye knocking it about, but really have looked painfully short of any threat up front all season, and quite a few 'stars' under-performing. The stats show our goal difference is very good, yet our win rate is very disappointing. If it's going to work out longer term then we need to see a real change in form. I don't believe Cove or Montrose have more resource at their current disposal than QP.
  7. The source is ...., checks notes; CharlieChurch off Pie and Bovril.
  8. Really pleased for Heraghty, that was a good performance, but great strike by McInroy again. Not really sure what our plan was in the first half but it looked suicidal. Better in the second half, but we created nothing. We are not catching Cove, and although the target will be to make the playoffs, we have no chance of making a dent in that universe. I feel we should be doing better with this group of players.
  9. Two games postponed because of other teams' Covid issues, and we play tonight with third choice keeper and about half a dozen starters out. A farce indeed.
  10. Was it Murray's right knee that was the longer-term problem? Is he done? I'm interested to see the return of Grant and Quitongo, but I'm not really expecting them to take up where they left off that soon. Baynham was just my imagination.
  11. On top of that Murray and Gillespie didn't look match ready. Longridge though has been consistently good for most of the season and that defensive line-up was pretty solid. Neither team really created anything other than the goals and that superb point-blank stop from Ferrie.
  12. Quite enjoying it as a game, as I'm not fussed about the result. Although Ferrie's done well to keep us in it, I'm encouraged by our effort over the half. A shame about the Fox situation, it does appear baffling, although apart from the goal we've defended well. I'm always amazed how effective Gillespie is for us, despite giving the ball away most of the time.
  13. I have to be honest, I really don't know where the problem lies at the moment, but this has crossed my mind. Certainly from where we were at times in League 2 this seems an impressive collection of talent in every position. Despite the inevitable comments of 'circling the drain', 'jobbers', 'dugshite', we have recruited players with proven experience and success from higher leagues. Are they inferior, or are they not focused as a team? Peterhead got a bloody nose last week and they needed a reaction. They outplayed us in the second half and were first to everything. I've been hoping for a reaction every week since the Alloa defeat. On the one hand it's early days and we have to be happy with topping the division for so long, our undefeated run and early defensive form, it just seems to be unravelling fast.
  14. Yes, very likely. He took the piss at Broadwood, and our defence has got more fragile since.
  15. Euan Henderson at Alloa needs to be in there somewhere.
  16. Yeah, you're not wrong. It's just that it's painful to watch us do this so regularly, and in such a crushing fashion.
  17. Yes agree, a great effort from 3-2 down with 10 men. I do think it was as easy a red as you'll see. Reckless, with intent and nowhere near the ball. He should have got the free kick just before though. Red mist.
  18. Cove will consider that 2 points dropped. A feeling QP fans are familiar with, so pleased with the score, if not our defending. Bob McHugh and Longridge on great form, but Brown is a really important player for us. He has the consistency that Luca Connell hasn't quite reached yet. Murray will know himself he's let the team down there, but he is quality, and I believe it's only his composure he needs to work on. Pleased with Morrison's return. I can understand the shout above for Davidson and Yeats. Cove look a well drilled side and can't say they did anything wrong.
  19. Yes, but convincing. We seem to be offering Logan all the room and time he wants down our left. Two chances, two goals is an encouraging turnaround. If we can control the game second half then a point would be a good result. Cove should really be three ahead.
