  1. Yes. Even more dangerous than Honduras. Average of 1,490 murders per million people. .. and if that is not bad enough, there are also reports of some of the residents turning into werewolves.
  2. Must make it tricky for other parties to challenge her position on anything. "I totally disagree with what the PM had to say on the matter this morning". "Which means you are totally in agreement with her now"! "Yes. I mean No. Actually I have no idea".
  3. Is she really gone or are you all just gaslighting me?
  4. .. and she lived in a quiet cosy village in Maine that was the murder capital of the world.
  5. He was annoyed with the BBC for not doing regular re-runs of the Monty Python series. As I recall, some sketches are very well known but a lot of it was crap. Fawlty Towers was great but he was utterly hopeless at non-comedic roles - such as Silverado. In 2018, he moved to Nevis and St Kitts, never to return - and 4 years later he is back.
  6. I recall NS being asked why she got into politics and she said "Thatcher". She hated everything that Thatcher was doing. You would probably get the same answer from people who joined the Labour Party.
  7. That strategy worked. #Worldle #262 4/6 (100%) https://worldle.teuteuf.fr
  8. Is there anyone that thought she did not detest the Tories? My only complaint is that this is not news at all. She uses certain words for things she does not like. Detest, despise and loathe are the three I have often heard. If she has a passionate dislike for the Conservative Party and everything about them, how is she supposed to say that? "Sorry, but the Tory Party is not my cup of tea."
  9. The TV movie "Vanishing Act" was filmed there. Fun film to watch. You can find it on YouTube.
  10. One of the weird things about America is that cars don't need a licence plate on both front and back.
  11. She is planning an announcement. "Look folks. People ask me why we keep going on about the war and I have to admit they have a point. The Queen is dead. The last of the war-time generation or very nearly. Time to let go. Yes, the Nazis were a bunch of bad eggs and it was right to oppose them but come on, that was nearly eighty years ago. Time to move on. I have decided to cancel Remembrance Day, all the silly parades and flag waving. Get over it."
  12. I totally understand the view that all Tories are scum. However some are easier to stomach than others. I might not agree with them but I will listen to them and at the very least they are informative. I might even say "Oh, I never thought of that". By contrast, some are so extreme, I would not expect to agree with them on anything. Patel and Braverman are especially toxic. Theresa May did not use the term "hard right". Instead she used the term "nasty" which means much the same thing. She herself was pretty nasty as Home Secretary. Must be something about the role. Also, I wonder if it is that the "hard left" do not push back enough. "I am not hard anything - I am just common sense proposing the solutions this country needs". That would be the response you would get from the "hard-right".
  13. Suggestions for her next career: Horse Racing commentator Auctioneer Narrator of children's audio books. Warning on label required Air Traffic Control Singer in a rock band
  14. You mean like the spontaneous popular revolt to declare a Republic just after the Queen. Yes. That was a resounding success, wasn't it?
  15. Banff itself is quite nice. Plenty of white hills. I think they call it snow.
  16. ... should have been near an'where else but then I didn't knae do. ...
  17. I was once in Nashville when it was hit by a tornado. One street was severely damaged while the parallel streets on either side were totally untouched. Those "Vote Democrat" signs in the front lawn were very effective at deflecting tornadoes. I think I should get one just in case.

  19. .. and for a bit of balance, we also asked non-Tory voters about how they are feeling.
  20. I was visiting Canada in 1993 when the ruling Conservative party lost the general election and was reduced to 2 seats. Strangely enough the BBC didn't have too much to say about it.
