  1. Only if you can't work from home. It used to be essential work at the start of all this but don't know what terms they are using now. Main point remains though. It doesn't really matter what we think, the kings and queens of corruption will decide.
  2. See belowI know it's referencing the international aspect of travel but head to the web site (I couldn't be arsed) and it is the same for local travel within and out with your local council area. As many have stated, what is essential is the key and as much as I miss football it's not essential at any level yet certain clubs and leagues are playing/travelling so it's down to how those in charge of the country interpret essential I guess.
  3. Doesn't look like a restart is likely, if the tone of the posts on here are any indication, seems like most are coming to that conclusion. Personally I've been quite pissed that the top 2 leagues seem to have been given preferential treatment and the arse cheeks seem to have control over decision making, but, lives before games. Perhaps ending the season for L1 and L2 is the safest option. With the announcement of furlough extension until the autumn should ensure our clubs are safe. That said premier and championship should be likewise however the prospect of sevco's reaction dictates they don't. Be a right laugh if they did though.
  4. Perhaps everyone has seen the image below on other social media, made me laugh. First images from Mars.
  5. I completely agree. My point was that, saddo as I undoubtedly am, I'm still holding onto a kernel of bitterness at how last season ended and I know hindsight is a low bar, last season could have waited to be completed too, but that's old ground My point is that we/they should try all they can to complete this s4ason to restore some integrity? If not 18 games, truncated as you suggest. There is always a solution, just sometimes there's always one who for their own reasons don't want a solution.
  6. Is that what should've happened last season then? Surely there has been a precedent set. Perhaps not given how shite the management of the leagues are.
  7. This is a good point and caused me to reflect on last summer when pundits and journos were predicting with some abandon, that many of the "smaller clubs" would struggle and many would go out of business. None so far. This for me highlights how little these guys know about clubs out with the premier. As you say G B the championship are the real strugglers. Most fans of smaller clubs know that as a community focused bunch, they are better placed to live within their means and the reality is were probably better placed to ride out the storm than those clubs above us. Seems the likes of Dundee never learn from past mistakes
  8. From back in the 90's, (not being a Billy big bollocks here) my dad was pals with stevie Chalmers and his son Paul. I think Paul was p/t at maybe ayr and then stanraer and went to college to gain a management qualification and set himself up in property management which he did in the Briggs area for some years. One day he popped in to tell my parents he was shipping off to sell penthouse flats in Dubai. They lost touch bar Christmas cards but his dad stevie simply used to tell us Paul was "doing okay". Many years later, around the mid to late 00's I was coming home from work on the train and picked up an evening times which had a 2 page spread on how "doing okay" Paul was doing, the headline was scottish multi millionaire property manager in dubai. How understated. Wish they'd kept in touch. Must be the most successful p/timer
  9. Personally I see this as a non issue. Apart from most players will just be desperate to play to the end of the season, most who are coming to the end of their contract won't have deals tied up for next season until the close season. This is normal for the players to keep their options open but more so clubs can save on paying wages needlessly between seasons. Also, I don't expect many players at our level being fought over by multiple clubs and wouldn't expect many players to have multiple offers, so would fully expect any player out of contract in May to have a rolling weekly contract to the end of the season. I'd have thought most players will be as desperate as us fans to complete the season.
  10. Yes. Re appoint simple Simon stainrod. They've never been the same since he left
  11. Great solution but I'd doubt this will be adopted. I am becoming increasingly cynical and despondent that there is no appetite from sfa nor the spfl for L1 and 2 to restart. This is just stringing everyone along to soften the blow when this shower null and void us. What I don't get is why wait until mid February to start training and March to restart the leagues. If the clubs have finances in place for testing then what is the difference between L1 and 2 and premier and championship. If the clubs have in place processes to keep the players and staff safe, which they did before the shutdown, and are going to include testing, where is the stumbling block or are the authorities determined to mothballed the two lower leagues. Top priority is staying safe and if that means avoiding the season I wish they would just get on with it. That said why void us and not the top 2 leagues oh aye, I forgot it's all about the arse cheeks.
  12. I'm not at the wind up, have you ever tried to engage with your own club? And if so how was their response? In the past, yesteryear, I have sent letters, yes, hand written letters, to my club about subjects covering from pricing, takeaway food, fan experience, board engagement and never received any reaponse. In more modern times I have sent e mails covering management concerns, club governance concerns, questioning decisions made by previous and current boards and chairs and never received any replies. I am just an ordinery fan, I've no deluded aspirations, am not offering money or expertise, just a fan offering polite constructive feedback and respectfully asking questions about the way the club I support and pay to watch is run. I have many friends who have done likewise at the club I support and friends at other like sized clubs and all tell the same story. Most, not all, but most club boards are not interested in fans butting into what they see as their kingdom. So, for those reasons I haven't done as you suggested, as constructive and as sensible as the suggestion is, it is pointless at my club, unless you are acolytes of the chair on Twitter and want to discuss such silly matters as banners☹
  13. Great points, don't disagree. The rangers analogy, yes, I expect fans voices had a bearing on how clubs responded but that wasn't the only reason, but old ground. Let's not go there. I've no doubt you are right but I'd just make a single point. It would require fans being of the same voice, a collective movement. I just doubt that at any club, barring something like rangers happening again, that would galvanise many supports. A single voice in this game changes nothing, and consensus is nigh on impossible. And as we have seen over my lifetime, clubs are, in the main, self absorbed and all about themselves. But it's a great point nonetheless.
  14. I get that but not for me. As much as I have no time for our chair (there's a pattern developing here) I couldn't stop supporting my club. I won't be back attitude doesn't work for me but can understand it does for some. I admire your optimism re individual fan's having a voice tho.
  15. That's you deciding what I'm unhappy about now? Your view is myopic or are you just fishing? Just to make sure you understand where I am on this. I am unhappy and have concerns about how the spfl have been run by their employee and elected board. I am aware, as I am sure you are too, I, as a supporter have zero control nor influence in such matters as the democratic process does not involve ordinary fans. So beyond being unhappy, sending an e mail to my club and posting on here I am toothless and have no say. To your second point which is myopic, the clubs have zero options bar to be part of the spfl and SFA so your point is pointless, unless it is designed just to elicit a response. All professional clubs must come under the umbrella of their country's association, to suggest otherwise is stupidity and I'm convinced you are far from stupid and so must deduce you are at the wind up.
  16. Just because I weigh up the evidence and come to a different conclusion from your good self doesn't mean I am wrong. Granted my opinions skewed by an unhealthy dose if cynicism but I'm entitled to my view even if you don't agree and you believe I'm conjuring and perhaps allowing my cynical bent to cloud my judgement. I do not trust the spfl board, nor the SFA. Fifa is one of the most corrupt organisations going, why would this shower be any different. Their big brothers aren't exactly a food example to them. I'm not saying brown envelopes are changing hands, just that human nature dictates these individuals look after their own.
  17. I do, but only when I am, not just to appease those who have a different opinion, which I respect greatly.
  18. Dave McCormack was on sportsound at the time, said to Richard Gordon and Tom English he received a call from an spfl board member telling him they didn't need aberdeens vote. As I remember, he was quite angry about being, as he saw it, deceived.
  19. You think they don't talk to each other. Vote in limbo? That's pretty naive. My position is not baseless as documented on previous posts. I'll not repeat them you'll be glad to hear. You have your opinion, I have mine. I won't change mine and I doubt anything I post further in relation to this won't change yours.
  20. Of course not. Apologise ot not being specific. I get play offs were cancelled which was awfully convenient was it not. How difficult would it have been to have played the play offs before this season started. We could have at least tried which takes us to the wider point of why they didn't even try to complete the season but I'm sure no one wants to go back over all that.
  21. To your first para, my comment on Doncaster was humour. Of course I'd not expect an employee to pay his/her employers costs Fair point the clubs get the board they deserve but you have to remember the voting structure to elect the board will not reflect all of the clubs desires/wishes, but that's democracy in action. However, once the management of the spfl are in place, as with any employee, removing those whose performance is shite is nearly impossible. And if you can't remove the head (Doncaster) he is highly unlikely to voluntarily leave such a well paid job. Even though the majority of votes want to keep him in post doesn't mean we all have to agree he is competent. It is far too simplistic a view that he is just an employee. He administrated the voting debacle at end of last season and lead the corrupt behaviour of his board who pressured certain clubs to vote in a desired way to suit the spfl. That is a corrupt practice and, just my opinion, worthy of independent scrutiny, which would have cost not one penny to clubs as rangers were willing to pay costs. He we accepted that, and I suspect if it had been a club other than the condemned 3 or rangers offering to pay it would have been accepted, there would have been independent decisions of their collective behaviour and we could have moved on. I will hold an grudge against these administrators for the rest of my days if for no other reason that the chair of the bottom club in Scotland oversaw his club avoiding any form of demotion. At best unfair behaviour, at worst corrupt collusion to protect their own. Just my opinion sergeant, and I'm not denying you yours, I just don't agree.
  22. Fair point but many on here and in the summer many issues were raised by several club chairs. This is not an arbitration issue that many on here have raised, it a question of seeing if the current board are fit for purpose and a wider issues of them giving value for their wage and bonus which was given during a period where money is tight. Who pays? No idea but it seems Doncaster has full pockets
