I agree with Radford that there was an incredible amount of negativity from some people throughout the season. I always thought we looked like a well coached team and actually got the results when the chances were taken. From not being the biggest fan of McCart early on (thought his passing was dreadful), I am very excited about our three centre halves. I think they said on commentary last night that McCart is 23, Kerr 24 and Gordon 25 - all very young for that position and a load of potential. Our defending has been excellent especially in the second half of the season...exemplified in the final when I was never worried they would score. Still not convinced by Zander and every cross gives me the fear but he is a decent shot-stoppper. Davidson is clearly an intelligent guy and I trust him to make the correct choices in the summer. We are a good team to watch and, personally, it has been huge with Saints TV being able to watch more of us this season than for many years.

I got him from the La Liga Ultimate pack and he doesn't get in my team. This was after packing gold Ronaldo from rivals rewards. Still a good pull and decent as a sub.

Have ha a nightmare WL, keep losing close games. The last one was weird though, had my team on Pressure Heavy Touch and by half time almost the entire team had no stamina. Usually, most players can easily last the game with that but some players had 0 fitness after 30 minutes. Had a search and it sounds like there is a bug where this happens sometimes...never seen it before.

Jones has been great for me. Have played him as a stay back CDM in a 442 and getting forward in a 4231. Passing is very good and he is a big lad so doesn't get bullied, if he gets into position his shooting is superb. Check out the guys review on Futbin.

Well, that is that. An absolute shellacking - 6 game away winning streak ends. India, in those conditions, must be near to unbeatable - some team. I would say Anderson and Crawley will come back next test in place of Broad and Lawrence. Not sure if Stone will play, will probably depend on the conditions but I would say they need somebody with pace. Next one is day/night so will be interesting.

I'm not hearing the actual team or coaching squad blame the pitch all - anybody that things Aggers speaks for English cricket, well... In fact, I am struggling to think of when the actual team has ever really complained about the ball or the pitch anytime recently. The Indian team/board etc had plenty of complaints after the first test so it was never in doubt this one was going to rag square. Cricket media complains about pitches - happens absolutely everywhere - to think it is only England or they are worse than any other team doesn't fit with what I see. Anyway, Root and Stokes doing alright here but always feels like a matter of time. Have to show they can bat time right down the order. Game is obviously done but there are another two matches and it could be important for the mindset.

Sorry if it's been mentioned but Lupin is absolutely superb. French drama, kind of a cross between Oceans 11 and Catch Me If You Can. Only 5 episodes but we blasted through it, very smart and we'll acted.

Was impressed with how Lawrence batted today. It's obviously extremely difficult to come in when the ball is doing all sorts and India have their tail up but he was positive and survived. Will obviously be done by tea tomorrow I would think but it is important for England to show some resilience with the bat and make India wait as long as possible. I am a fan of Kohli, he is great box office but I am not sure any other captain would have required a referral by the umpire when he was clean bowled then arguing with the umpires like he was today. He said India were going to be fired up and there was a noticeable increase in intensity, especially from their close fielders. England will have to step up in the next test, if India prepare another pitch like this one then the toss will be all important again.

Regarding the pitch chat - it could be argued producing a green top in England gives the same unfair advantage as this pitch. In saying that, I really don't think the ball should be going through the middle of the pitch in the first session of day 1. I think England will be lucky to get to 150 in their second innings. Really came on to post about Ben Foakes - he has been ridiculous this test match and must be the best keeper in the world. I think England have to find a way to get him into the team, he is a good bat but he saves so many runs with his keeping. Absolutely loving watching the skill level he is showing on this pitch.

I thought it was a bit of a slow hour yesterday but Root explained himself today. They felt 105 overs, on that pitch, was enough...in the end they only needed 60 (I think). Roots captaincy is understated but he has an excellent win record and quietly goes about his business. Looks like the partnership with Silverwood is going to be a good one. Anderson and Leach amazing today. Jimmy is an absolute legend and keeps getting better. It will be a fired up India in three days time. On another note, I teach at an international school out here and a lot of Indian kids and parents will be a lot quieter after this result!

England now 300 ahead with two wickets down. Root has come in and looked on a different planet again, has hit 21 from 11 so far and just took Ashwin for 14 runs in an over. An absolute joy to watch him right now, one of the best English players of spin I have ever seen.

Managed to pack this guy with my Rivals rewards this week. Also got Benzema tradeable from Marquee Matchups. Been grinding Belgian and Championship SBCs and got West Brom O'Shea who sold for 18k in seconds. Also got the CB but he is untradeable. Not sure I want to do the expensive league SBCs so will stick with grinding the cheaper ones.

The Heroes - Joe Abercrombie. Holy shit, this was incredible. I have enjoyed all his books but this might be my favourite. 600 pages based on three days of war between the Union and the North. Loved the development of characters like Calder and Beck. Nobody writes battle scenes like him, amazingly vivid. Next I am onto The Anarchy by William Dalrymple. It's about the rise of the East India Company. Have never read anything by him so looking forward to it.

Been reading that about Ronaldo - he might be a swap for baby Okacha at RW.

The Dybala SBC is really well priced. Card looks superb and he will be going in as CAM.

Never been there for the cricket but Galle and all of Sri Lanka are stunning.

Been watching Root's innings all day and he has been faultless. Switch hit is coming out now and he is head and shoulders above the rest of the batsmen. Suffering a bit from cramp now, commentators said he has been on the field in both test matches for every over except 36. That is a phenomenal effort in the heat.

The interview with Muzz after the game is outstanding. He was fantastic yesterday, when Gogic went off him and Ali absolutely dominated and didn’t give them a sniff. I reckon Muzz will be a strong presence in the dressing room, Kerr growing into captaincy but it must massively help him having boys like Liam and Muzz in there supporting him.
