  1. Loved last night. I've been critical of SSC but yesterday he came up with a game plan which the players executed to perfection so I'm happy to eat my words. Loving, too, the Spanish bleating. Kris Boyd is great in this Youtube clip:
  2. Schengen isn't a political union and there are no parallels between it and the treaty - recognisable under international law - that made Scotland and England one kingdom. This is bleeding heart pish. Thanks to Mr Barnett Scotland has about £4,000 per taxpayer per annum (pre covid numbers but still valid) to make things better. That you elect a largely autonomous administration that doesn't exploit its freedom to make improvements but, rather, turns everything to shite is on every ScotchNat voting for these chancers. Being FM of Scotland is the easiest job in world politics. All you have to do is put all of your energy into the big devolved areas of education, transport, health and local government and use the Barnett bonus to make changes and everyone will benefit. Scotland has more than enough 'levers' to make a massive difference in people's lives. Instead, you squeal like stuck pigs and elect the serial failure that is Humza as FM who has the nonentity - yet friend of Sturgeon - that is Shona Robison as his deputy.
  3. 'Tory' isn't a social attitude and Scotland doesn't vote in GEs.
  4. Aye ok I was egging the custard a bit. Let me rephrase: "Absolute NatWits like you have to manufacture grievance to maximise the barely-existent differences north and south of the border"
  5. Yup. Exactly this - which was my entire point. I was replying to @Crùbagwho said, "all these sectors are shitter in other parts of the UK." when they patently aren't. One simply can not draw a line across Britain and say "above the line is better than below the line so we need an international border to keep the two apart". After 300+ years of being one nation - where social attitudes surveys see almost no difference between north and south and when we have many hundreds of thousands of Scots living in England and VV - you belong to a political movement that wants to manufacture differences to the extent of creating a new nation. The Scotland, even. It's absolute nonsense and scandalous that a man of your wit and awareness has bought this snake oil.
  6. Two thoughts, mate. 1 The last 'tap' I had was this beezer - accompanied by proper woollen (FB) socks and cotton shorts: 2. No way is Gammonbaws taller than me.
  7. Speaking as a harmless big lump (weighed in at 124Kg last month when my 'dancing weight' is 110Kg) I've had a big lump on my neck which had swollen to the size of a pear half just below my ear. Got nagged into going to the quack 3 weeks ago who didn't know what it was. Referred me to the ENT dept. locally and I got a call within 3 days with an appointment to see a consultant. I did last that week. He didn't know what it was either but said, "You're on the 'cancer path' so I'll check you in for a scan and a biopsy" Took the bus this morning - was forbidden to drive - and mentally prepared myself for a painful biopsy and for a period of anxious waiting until they got the results back. The consultant radiologist prepped me for an ultrasound (no pregnancy jokes) and said within seconds, "You have an abscess. Probably a blocked saliva duct". He duly drained said lump and sent me packing saying he'll suggest an MRI scan to check the exact cause but not to fret. So two conclusions: 1. The NHS staff - from receptionist to practice nurse to consultant - were brilliant. Calm, organised and professional. I was seen on time each time and the whole process ran like clockwork. It helped a lot, of course, that they thought I may have a malignant tumour but I am still impressed. 2. Great respect for the lads and lassies on here living with cancer. I've always been a bit blasé about my health but confess I shed a tear when he told me it was just an abscess. But best wishes to you and your families in what must be a difficult journey which I only got a glimpse of.
  8. Indeed, young Richie. The apt word would be 'purview'. Kicking myself but at least I knew that Suriname was a. Dutch and b. in South America.
  9. No. You've not addressed my point in the slightest.
  10. Ah, the old "Whit aboot your oddballs" defence? How pathetic...yet predictable.
  11. He's just ordered 2,000 bottles of any liquid from Tesco before loopy Lorna and the oddball collective that 'govern' Scotland tax the arse out of it.
  12. Scotland is blessed - thanks to Barnett - with near Scandi levels of public financing. That it has near-Malawi levels of service delivery is down to the Nats.
  13. Odd posting from the ScotchNat Massive. They've just elected The First Shinner and all they talk about is Rangers fans, FF, Wingsy, people from 'down south' and Jim Murphy. Utter loon balls to a man.
  14. Wankerish to quote my own post but here goes: We had mixed terraces tonight and the fans - many of whom are pals from school - sat together. This is good. Passions run high but you have to be able to take it as well as dish it out. Sad to see McPherson fall short here but he truly fucked up.
  15. Indeed. Poor stuff from Craig McPherson. I expect his jotters to be handed to him.
  16. Except they're not. In my wee bit of Tory South Bucks the trains, buses and tubes run on time and the grammar schools offer a level of education that is admirable and aspirational. Plus we're pretty-much Ned-free.
  17. You're reading too many posts about posters, wee man.
  18. I went through a phase of getting the first BMI flight of the day from EDI to LHR on a Monday and often shared the forward seats with Alistair Darling and Tam 'Dyell'. His craven 'Any chance' requests to share Darling's ministerial car from the airport would have embarrassed anyone, farless the scion of 'Tam o' the Binns'.
  19. 9 for Mon. To quote my most recent ex wife, "My cousin Frida is married to a Yordie". "Aye, where's he from?" "Yorkshire, of course"
