Bet he's been coming all along but is holding off to deadline day for the drama. No chance is he just rocking up on the 10th of January or something.

I like the idea of a fit Eamon Brophy but if we're stuck between begging Derek Adams for him or chucking Kev a line then make the fucking call

Later in the thread it mentions the Vitesse thing seems to be off.

I like Brophy as a player tbh. When we're signing players from our league then a guy who has scored for Accies, Killie, St Mirren and Ross County is probably about our level. In that sense I'd prefer him over a random EFL loanee.
The injury thing makes it an absolutely fucking wild risk in our situation. Maybe that's where we are though.

One of the reasons why partnerships don't work - as opposed to feeder clubs being basically reserve teams - is first refusal is entirely impractical. If Dundee do develop a superstar, how likely is it he'll want to go to Burnley and not man utd? And how happy will Dundee be at accepting a lower fee so he goes to the parent club?
Bizarrely my bigger hope in this revolution is less partnerships but more business folk who are already in football look at the lack of collective marketing, shite TV deal in Scotland and feel the clubs are undervalued.
Yeah one thing I did think is that you're sort of hitching yourself to one particular wagon. Dundee have obviously got Beck back now but in the future would Burnley not maybe say, hawd on, you're not helping develop players for another team in our league.

This is sounding a bit £5m loan to Newcastle but I dunno if we could be leveraging the Miller situation a bit more. Say to to some of the English clubs interested they can get "first refusal" or something in return for their Biereth equivalent on loan. Not even sure that's legal tbf.

Touched on this before but that's Hibs confirmed they have permission to join the Bournemouth food chain.
It's obviously sad that it's come to this but you can't change reality or the modern world as much as we'd like.
Dundee have basically already declared their hope to become a feeder club for Burnley and I suspect everyone else - certainly outside the biggest four - will be rushing to follow suit, ourselves included.
Yeah I said similar yesterday. It's far from ideal but I imagine more likely somebody chucks us a bit of money in return for a "strategic partnership" than Taylor Swift just giving it no strings attached.

I read that article earlier and tbh I think it's one of those that just translates badly.
There's nothing there that isn't true - we're towards the bottom of the league, Sturm...aren't, from the POV of the progression of his career I'm sure it was a fairly straightforward decision etc.
Haha aye, I was being a bit flippant. It entirely makes sense from his perspective, just feels like adding insult to injury a bit.

We've almost went 8 hours without some sort of humiliation or catastrophe... ahh, Mika is slagging us off in the Danish press.

Spittal's goals against Alloa make a bit more sense now. Perhaps Ketts told him to buck his ideas up or he'd be sent to Paisley

Kenny Miller (6)- Hibs, Rangers, Celtic, Rangers, Livi, Dundee

Entirely random Twitter shout...tis the season and all that.
It seems Fleetwood are having a clear out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Montgomery was at them too. Maybe we're St Mirrening them

Between Rooney and Ozbolt the new target group seems to be 'scores winners in cup finals', a significant improvement from 'always injured'.
Halliday scored against Hibs too. Wasn't the winner obviously.

That's not unique to Motherwell though, I'm sure every Saints manager says the same at least once per transfer window.
We did it first

I'm not saying I want us to do this but I'd be surprised if the club hadn't at least considered reaching out to an EPL club in a similar way as Hibs and Dundee have.
Goes against a lot of what I love about football but it feels more likely to me than the Swift option. Maybe Sturm Graz would be up for it.

Do St Johnstone reserves have any more superstars?

Sport5 Israel update:
European team joined the race after Alan Ozbolt: the Polish Gornik Zabza, in which Lukas Podolski plays, is also interested in adding the Hapoel Tel Aviv striker.
Both teams offered a payment of 150,000 dollars for the Slovenian, who would have to to decide where he will move since it is not impossible that additional offers will be received for him in the coming days
If he's choosing to play alongside that Podolski jobber rather than the Bair then I think we're better off without him

This was actually my thought as well when I saw it mentioned.
Like, Spittal's been smashing for us and it wouldn't be a surprise if Robinson chucked money at him based on the last couple of seasons but he's not very Robinson-y.
Yeah the first 4-3-3 was obviously built around Turnbull who I suppose is sort of a rich man's Spittal if you squint a bit. Other than that though I'm not sure who the closest equivalent is- Bigi? Polworth?
I think Robinson is slightly more progressive than the hammer thrower tag- when he isn't letting Dunne charge about trying to kill folk- but I'd still think of his archetypal midfielder as a big guy that can run about a lot.

I like Spittal but I'm not sure Robinson would know what to do with him tbh. I think he is being blinded by the Motherwell connection

Dhanda going to Hearts this window would probably be good news for us.

I'll maybe stick my neck out a bit and say I don't think Livi will catch us. County have looked miles better than us in the two games between the teams this season but their league position suggests that's not really an accurate reading of where they are. If Livi win and this weird Derek Adams psychodrama continues then those two hopefully get cut adrift a bit from us and St Johnstone

Can't believe they tried to punt him to the Championship. That's out of order.

I think one of those January goals won him POTM for December
I think a few teams play 4 times this month which might count against him. Seems unfair.
