  1. I think its naive to expect that in your first season up, as it generally becomes a slog. Dundee and Partick are both team who try and play "football" but they got sussed out pretty quick. Top flight teams are generally very good at sitting deep and hurting you on the counter
  2. Honestly, your squad looks brutal in terms of the top flight. Samson in goal an obvious weak spot. You'd be aswell keeping the main group though, as you'll have the inital momentum carried over from this season and a good start is massive. Genuinely interested to see how your current squad would do.
  3. It's just a case of you being incredibly dense and easy to wind up, tbh.
  4. It wouldn't be a huge leap to believe McCann had fallen out with one of his players. As you say, we'll probably never know the truth. TW apparently tried to sign McGowan in 2016 so its not something he's just randomly decided to do.
  5. This is just pure rumour, but its looked like TW has been gullible enough to fall for stories from agents before (Brian Graham strung him along for months after he'd already signed a deal with County/Dow told him he'd sign and then used TWs interest in him to get a better deal elsewhere/Rory McKenzie seems to be doing the same at Killie), so theres every chance McGowan hasn't been happy with Dundees offer, TW has been interested for over a year, so McGowans agent has gone to TW to tell him hes rejected Dundees offer and wants to talk, TW has been honest when asked about transfer targets, probably wanting to GIRUY McCann, and Dundee have offered McGowan a better deal to stave off losing him to a team who pumped them just weeks ago. Dundee fans will be along in a minute to tell me how much shite that is, probably some Saints fans too, but it seems to be the most logical run of events to me. Those journalists and TW have a good relationship so theres no lies from their end of things, its all, in their mind when it was printed, factual.
  6. Our crowd at Tynecastle is generally decent, same with Aberdeen on occasion. We also had a visit to Hamilton where we pretty much had double the home support, but that was a one off
  7. I'm fairly sure McLeish lives down there
  8. Craig has about three times as many assists this season and can play central too. Deacon has pace but I've never actually seen him use it. Get a full back one on one, then slow the play until cover arrives, tedious stuff.
  9. Your apology is accepted. Fwiw I wouldn't want Deacon, looks one of those hopeless wingers who almost produces something every three games.
  10. You'd already built your squad with a huge budget, administration came after the window shut
  11. Dont forget the "Deefiant" season, where they bravely battled to sixth in the second tier with one of the biggest budgets. I'm informed its their "unofficial sixth major honour" by their website.. http://dundeefc.co.uk/club/history/our-triumphs/201011-dee-fiant/ #GloryDays
  12. The same manager spent a summer trying to sign Ryan Dow, he's got a blind spot when it comes to players who've played at either Dundee club.
  13. Dundee fans gloating about keeping a 31yo midfielder who's played a major part in them failing to achieve anything over the past few years, a real high point for their club.
  14. Yes. Tommy Wright confirmed we had an interest in McGowan.
  15. Time for a P&B Mythbusters show. You can go first since it's you who started all this..
  16. It really doesn't, as someone who's used a grinder next to fuel, I feel capable of making that claim. You drop a lit fag into a drum of petrol and it'll light, sparks alone would be drowned out.
  17. Is homophobia acceptable as long as it comes from someone who supports the same club as you?
  18. I reckon we could definitely get him. Big five probably think he's below their level, and we stack up pretty nicely against the rest.
  19. I'm not sure. Obvious one is Schalk from County. I've just no idea what sort of money we actually have to play with
  20. He wouldn't be hard to move on. That's where the four new players come in, Tam.
  21. Mannus/Clark New RB/Comrie/Easton/Tanser Anderson/Shaughnessy/Kerr/Gordon New RW/Wotherspoon/Williams/New LM Millar/Davidson/McGowan/Craig/New CM/Scougall Kane/MacLean/McMillan/New ST Would be a decent squad, and allow you to play 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 without huge problems. Should also allow an increase in quality without the disruption of a huge rebuild
