  1. Aye sorry, whole post wasn't directed at you, I just ended up ranting. Agreed with the booing to an extent. The booing after a pointless shell up the park to nobody is fair game for me, the booing when a pass goes slightly astray isn't. We really need to be a good home team next season. Think away days are slowly slipping away from fans so it's important to perform in front of them when you can to build some form of relationship. I don't think fans/players/managers have had that since TW left. Often wonder if fans had been to games in Davidsons first season how different things might have been being able to celebrate the big moments with them.
  2. The manager and a chunk of the squad 2 years ago had a large connection to fans though. You have your Rooney, Craig, Muzz, Wotherspoon, Hendrys in that team alongside Gordon and May. Who's similar now? Some already wanted Davidson out by then but I think a fair chunk were still thinking he was just unlucky and could turn it around. I think Levein suffers from what he serves up being so similar to Davidson (back 5, scared football, no tempo, no midfield, recurring defensive issues), and fans are just sick to death of it. He probably shouldn't be judged before he can build his own squad, but why would fans believe it'll change at this stage? Both the managers and players have to earn it, they don't just get a free pass of blind faith forever simply because they're all we've got.
  3. Interesting seeing the highlights back that all 3 goals have incidents of two players going for the same header and causing someone to be out of position.
  4. Ross County and St Johnstone both winning all 3 games left that isn't the head to head between them, combined with you picking up no more points.
  5. People said the same about Hibs against Livingston. I don't think it should be understated how bad yesterday was. The fans turned on the players about about 15 minutes and they just shrunk. This feels like a squad who'll start getting "injuries" because they don't fancy that.
  6. We wouldn't need too. We're not a Dundee/United/County who are mired in losses and can't turn a profit outside the top flight. We can afford to try and getnit right and build our way back. I think if we go down it would take 2 seasons to get us as genuine challengers, but we might be better off by year 3 than staying up and trying to tread water and rebuild at the same time. Championship should give us more breathing room barring a disaster of Falkirk proportions.
  7. Think i agree on the shouts for McCabe, tbh. If we're relegated and probably even if we're not tbh. We need someone who has an identity of not being a shitehawk who's terrified of attacking, and there's evidence they're able to make to work successfully while building a squad on a budget. There's very few boxes he doesn't tick. Issue would be the squad will need rebuilt either way and when the club has zero structure to really support that, if we stay up then the manager has to get virtually everything 100% spot on and get it working quickly too. Another poor league cup campaign and you've already got fans after you.
  8. If we get relegated we won't be in a position to challenge straight away. We're current in a position where we've no owners of the club, those in charge are just biding time for someone to take over, the squad is a complete mess and would be absolutely gutted if we go down, and then we'd be looking for a manager too as Levein would walk (hopefully). County would be different and I'd expect they'd challenge.
  9. Worth remembering that 10 years ago he was appointed as Hearts DOF and spoke as if he wanted to do that rather than manage. His talk about "one last roll of the dice" when taking our job suggests he'll retire after us regardless. It's absolutely wild that they've been here since November and it's still not clear who's actually in charge. Everyone says something different with some saying Levein is actually manager and Kirk just follows instructions, then others say Kirk is defacto manager and Levein is just a front. I still struggle to believe Levein would be making the tactical mistakes we make (which are currently the exact same ones Davidson made), but I struggle to see why he'd risk so much of his reputation to protect Kirk in that way.
  10. There's no chance they're sacking Levein, the only way he leaves is if he just chucks it which might be possible in a Warnock way. I've still no idea what him and Kirk discuss. It took them almost an hour of watching us be doubled up on out wide, which stopped us attacking but also killed us when trying to defend, before changing a thing, and even then they kept the same shape going until the end. He's making the exact same mistakes Davidson did tactically, and that's unacceptable for a manager as experienced as him. What's he expecting when he plays a midfield 3 and asks 2 to push high and wide?
  11. I'd rather play Raith than Partick or Airdrie. Airdrie embarrassed us in the cup and could only lose the tie by missing chances, rather than us winning it. I get bad juju off Partick and think they're destined to get promoted this season.
  12. St Mirren and Dundee fans desperate to add the "St Johnstone got relegated" trophy to their "made the top six" cup already in the bag. St Mirren might do a open top bus parade, but suspect Dundee will go down the DVD route.
  13. Well yes, the past doesn't change because of what happens in the present. Up until now we've done well against bottom half sides. If we lose all 5 and get relegated it doesn't change that either.
  14. They seem to be updating the look of their website, and its like they can only do one bit of it at a time so half of it doesn't work.
  15. Too much effort on show for that to be us. We're stood at the bottom just praying the other guy doesn't succeed.
  16. Yet again I point at the "stop panicking, the teams below you are too shite to catch you" plaque. Watch our "highlights" v Hibs for further evidence. Hibs scored 3, missed 3 one on ones and had 2 cleared off the line, while our players chucked it after 10 minutes and got roundly booed for the entire game, and our manager saw it not working for 60 minutes before making subs while keep the same not working shape going for the full game.
  17. Was that after we won at Pittodrie? It's what makes what we get weekly so frustrating. We went away to you, played 4-4-2 with an attempt at wingers playing as wingers, went fairly high risk and won. I don't think we've even attempted that from the start of a game since. It's genuinely just Davidson all over again. Do what doesn't work until the pressure gets huge, try what everyone wants and win, dump that at the first excuse to do so and revert back to what wasn't working. Repeat forever.
  18. It's starts with them, and Levein. We start that game at a high tempo and pressing it brings Hibs mistakes and the fans get onside. We'd probably get countered on but that was happening anyway. Instead we start half paced, sit off Hibs, get passed through anyway, go behind meekly then the players chuck it. Fans respond by getting frustrated and everything. I've no idea what you're expecting? The players have let the fans down constantly this season, some for years, so why should fans just blindly back them (again)?
  19. He got massively on my tit's today. Doing absolutely nothing to help defensively or offensively, yet makes sure to berate the 17yo who's struggling to cope with one of the best wingers in the league.
  20. One of the worst St Johnstone performances I can ever remember seeing, when you add in the context of both clubs situations. Last home game on a Saturday for a relegation threatened side, against a half arsed outfit who's managers on the brink, and we play like that. There's nothing about this squad in terms of fight or heart, and with the lack of confidence the quality goes out the window too. All that made worse by a set up that encourages a lack of tempo and lack of passing options. We might scrape 10th but you'd still happily see virtually the entire squad, and manager, dumped.
  21. You question starting him at LCB against this Hibs attack, tbh.
  22. Does he play either side of a back 3 a lot? Seems to do it well if he does.
  23. I will do this, I just need to be on my laptop and that doesn't happen unless im at home and my kid is on a nap at weekends.
