  1. I doubt it. We're kind of f**ked now a list is public as folk who aren't on it, like McGlynn, won't move if they're seen as 5th/6th choice and a raft of managers have publicly rejected us.
  2. 1. Brown was never offered the job to say no to 2. McGlynn isn't a candidate for the job
  3. The guys a well known troll on here, so just ignore him.
  4. Aye. Furthers my belief we need to stay away from anyone inside Scotland too, but unfortunately we'll now get them dragged through the mud for not being Brown if they have a poor spell/result.
  5. Aye. Hibs in 2 months fires it all up again. This will be the downside of an ex-OF captain as manager.
  6. Worth mentioning that it's not. Keith Jacksons article is lifted from the St Johnstone reporter for The Courier, but with Jacksons usual pish spouting and extravagant extra touches designed to attract Old Firm fans to read his article and get something out of it. The Courier reported Ayr were approached about Brown because St Johnstone were told Brown was interested in talks, and it's only once he's been invited to a second round of talks alongside other candidates that he pulled out.
  7. It remains baffling to me that clubs just accept the fact Celtic and Rangers always get the same dressing room and end when at Hampden. Virtually turns it into a home game for them.
  8. Courier saying there was an initial batch of interviews, then a shortlist drawn up on Tuesday. Clubs been contacted about compensation costs and targets invited for another round of interviews, which is where we are and where Brown has pulled out. I'm still convinced Tiernan Lynch is the main target tbh.
  9. Courier reporting Brown was interviewed before. Shortlist of those who impressed was made on Tuesday, and contact made with clubs/targets to confirm compensation costs and invite targets back for 2nd round of interviews, which is where we are now and where Brown has pulled out.
  10. Most likely situation is St Johnstone approach his agent, who confirms Brown wouldn't outright say no to the job. St Johnstone approach Ayr to ask how much he would cost. St Johnstone get in contact with Brown directly. Brown decides it's not a project worth leaving Ayr for.
  11. Ive been pretty clear since Levein was sacked, across multiple threads/platforms, that i want a manager from outside Scottish football. I'd have preferred Brown to folk like McGlynn or Murray, but he was borderline with Leven and below Lynch for me from the moment the names first came out.
  12. Not disappointed he won't be our manager tbh, but won't be great if all the public targets turn us down this week which feels like a worrying possibility.
  13. It's another article that says he showed interest in the job too, which led to the initial asking club for permission to speak to him. I'm glad we're not going for him, as much as because our next 2 games are against Celtic then Rangers and it would be unbearable timing, but I hope this means he was told he wasn't the top target and decided he felt he was better than being strung along waiting for others to reject it (which tbf isn't a ridiculous thing). If he's turned us down as the top target then it's not a great look at all.
  14. It's just an example of the scale of growth that's there. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans still talk us down as if it's the 00's still. We've been a top flight club for 15+ years, have a turnover of £7m+, and 3 training pitches around the stadium with promises of improved training facilities.
  15. Yeah, we that for our opening game, and had it for European games regularly. Will we get it regularly? No. Can we get upwards of 6k regularly if we actually attempt to attract fans and are good to watch? Also yes. We've had an unprecedented decade of success and the Browns when they owned it had zero signs about us in the city centre and done no advertising. That'll be different with new owners.
  16. It is, aye. You're genuinely challenging for promotion for the first time in about 20 years and have a half built stadium. We've been in the top flight 15+ years with multiple trophies and a 9k attendance behind us.
  17. Think what you want but how many match their strike rate since January?
  18. Exactly. We play shite and finish 10th so why should a manager who expects to do better than shite only realistically think they can finish 9th? We genuinely have 2 of the best strikers in the league. A decent manager sorts the defence and gets them firing and should be looking to push for the top half.
  19. Why would finishing 9th be the maximum ambition for us? We've had more top 6 finishes than not in the past decade, played in Europe about 6 times, and won 3 major trophies
  20. They're not, really. He ticks some boxes so they've asked permission to speak more to him about the job. Depends on who the unnamed manager is but I'd think Brown will be probably be 3rd or 4th on the list. Lynch feels like he's the most likely if they could get him.
  21. I don't they're naive enough to think a young manager doing well will stay. The stability is a big thing but the idea they move on next Summer for better things, having done a good job, wouldn't be a deal breaker IMO.
