  1. So we've got guys aligned to the club saying no bids have come in at all and yet the falkirk herald says there has.  You'd think the herald would talk to the club first before spouting pish.

There has been a bid & the Herald will have got that from the club.

Which guys that are aligned to the club said no bids? If it's Falkirk TV then they didn't speak to the manager till after the match so not sure how they could answer that till then?
  2. Fuxxakes. The boy picked up a knock last week so sat in the stand for the game yesterday. One of the guys from Falkirk TV said categorically there were no bids, no enquiries and he was going nowhere.

As confirmed by the Herald, a bid was received but has apparently been turned down.

Not a bad thing if it stays that way, I doubt it though.
  3. Rumour mongers apparently. Guy sat near me at the game reckons he's a fan's rep and gets told of transfers - heard nothing. Lewis rolled up and categorically stated it was bollocks.

That's not to stop Bayern Munich slapping in a late multi-million bid just before their season starts though. I heard there was someone watching the game yesterday who ordered their pie at half time in German.

I didn't think there was a Fans Reps anymore?

Even if there was, I doubt highly he would always be told of transfers.
  4. Good luck to Will. A very versatile player and is a miss but that's not why we lost today, although losing this game means little in the grand scheme of things.

15 chances today, 1/2 of which on target & we should have done better. Much better but we move onto the rest of these cup/friendlies.

On Will's replacement, I trust Houstie in making the right calls and if he signs John Rankin then we should back him. I've yet to see a United fan back the decision to free him to be honest.

He's a centre mid only but is a good one. We have cover now in the rest of the areas Will would cover if we had injuries.

  5. Ooft.  Pretty disappointing stuff to be honest as I was hoping the club had left all these types of boardroom shenanigans and surreptitious stuff in the past but I looks like not much has changed after all.  Calls into question the funding for the fourth stand/offices then surely?  Also, no surprise to see MR implicated as being a toad...[emoji20]

From what I last heard, albeit 6/7 months ago, the club we're going to be putting a large sum towards finishing the stadium, with funds from private investors (can only imagine a decent chunk of the BOD) and the remaining sum coming from the Foundation & any grants they can achieve.

  6. Having read the letter again from DC, it's going to take a pretty big brass neck for MR not to step down surely? Certainly if he is also a Trustee of the Foundation.

All this at a time we are led to believe that the club are likely to need the Foundations support to help finance further stadium development through various charitable grants.

  7. 300ish. I don't know anyone who is going.

    Agree with that rough figure.

Sadly, this stage of the tournament is now seen as glorified friendlies and will be played as such IMHO.

£16 being charged by St Johnstone next Sat should see a similar away support travel up which is a shame seeing as it's live on TV.
  8. Don't think they were too keen on him the first time he was there. I'd take him, but I doubt we could afford him and I'm not sure where exactly we'd fit him in.

There's money to spend if the right player is identified. Being honest, he would need to take Sibbalds position and I don't see that happening.
  9. I think it must have been about that era. A quick google scan revealed nothing. Abandoned though as my employers and me have widely differing views about what I should be doing for my wedge.

Pretty sure I remember the weather being horrendous. Whips right into that stand.

Yep, we made a great decision that day to move from the stand to the terrace....

  10. I enjoyed last Saturday's friendly and we played some neat stuff at times.

Be interesting to see who starts up front, I think it will be Austin & McHugh tbh.

I think the team will be:

    Danny Rogers

    Lewis Kidd
    Luca Gasparotto
    Paul Watson
    Luke Leahy

    Mark Kerr

    Craig Sibbald
    Will Vaulks
    James Craigen

    Bob McHugh
    Nathan Austin

    Subs:
    Deniz Mehmet
    Aaron Muirhead
    Tony Gallagher
    Myles Hippolyte
    Kevin O'Hara
    John Baird
    Lee Miller

You can tell the strength is there this year when there could be no room for David McCracken & Scott Shepherd with Tom Taiwo, Peter Grant & Liam Henderson still to come in to the equation.
