Of course but its a play on the fact that we play better in second halfs of games too IMO
Well that's true. It certainly is mind boggling that we don't start games well, especially at home. Although that said, we did against the Fifers at home in Oct. Maybe because they won the toss & made us shoot towards the South stand in the 2nd half.0 -
This. Like I said in the match thread, losing to Dumbarton and they are the only team of the weekend who takes 3 points out of us is mega fortunate. I hope its a turning point of sorts, Houston appeared to acknowledge (with rage) the first half apathy we have seen recently, but it really needs dealt with before we get much older. Creativity and a right sided midfielder desperately needed in January.
As a side not, Falkirk website was advertising half season ticket under the slogan "football comes alive in the second half with Falkirk" Go and f**k yourself whoever wrote that. It's not the least bit funny that we can't perform in a first half.
Also, Lee Miller is amazing
I took it as the 2nd half of the season....0 -
We are crying out for a settled team, as we had last season.
I didn't disagree changes were needed for today but I'd much preferred he tinkered it at home as opposed to away.
This league was there for the taking and feel this is an opportunity that's going to pass us by, similar to the year Dundee & Hamilton were fighting it out with us.
The BOD need to back Houstie in January but it's maybe too late already. We certainly can't afford to lose many more games, especially when Hibs & Utd continue to drop points.0 -
9pts needed from the next 3 games starting today. Even then we need United & Hibs to drop points too.
Sounds like their will be changed today but can't see any more than 4 at a push which for Houstie is way off his usual tinkering.
A win today sets us up nicely for Boxing Day against that lot.0 -
I've watched a few U20s games, I think Sheps does well at that level BUT he's more often than not up against young boys not much bigger than he is.
As seen from his cameo appearances in the first team & when he's in/around the box he's more often than not eased off the ball or they simply go through him like he isn't there.
I can understand why Houstie plays him on the wing as a sub but his impact is minimal. I can think of an assist last year at Raith but nothing from this year, although could be wrong.0 -
Let's face it, these news refs are trained by Willie Collum, of course they are going to be poor.

Top of the league as we have been for weeks.
Was referring to you lot actually thinking you had a chance this season up against the Scottish cup holders
Did Hibs win the Scottish cup this year? Someone should have mentioned it.0 -
Set pieces are a bloody joke and have been since last season.
Every free kick (Apart from the one we scored) was a Kerr floater/drive to the back post. We won very few of the first headers and therefore wasted the chance.0 -
Houston sort out this first half pish FFS
2nd half wasn't much better today tbh.0 -
That's why I rarely win at the bookies.

Need a win today, which I'll think we'll get.
Put your money on Hibs and United both dropping points today too.0 -
Apparently the Head Teacher of said school is a Hibs fan. Be interesting to know if this particular school has taken the free tickets on offer from FFC.

Anybody know if any buses that still have seats from the Dunfermline game? Usually go on the elliots bus but it's full. BTW is full as well.
Looking for 8 so it's a bit optimistic. Tempted to just run another one if everyone is full
Lauries Bar are running as many as they can fill according to their FB page, worth giving them a call0 -
Part of me not that keen on how reliant we are on a long throw for our creative threat but also don't get why we only use it when we are desperate, why not utilise it from minute one?
We utilised it multiple times yesterday at 0-0 but the problem was we rarely won the 1st header/flick on.
Good tool to have though as both Muirhead & Hippolyte can give it a good launch.0 -
Why not? You don't need safe standing for the top flight, normal terracing is allowed. If you're adding a fourth side would it not be better to put up a terrace than add a stand that'd rarely have anyone in it?
Unless the money men part funding it can add on the various facilities they want to have onto a modern terrace I very much doubt it'll be anything other than seating.0 -
Does anyone know anything about this craic where you buy a step in the stand? Emailed the club about it as a potential xmas present for my brother but they haven't got back. We sit in the South Stand so would probably want one there rather than one we'd never see in the Main.
I asked about the South stand and was told it will be the main stand only. As Bainsford Bairn mentioned, the South stand is sponsored & will continue to be I think so the West stand is the only option. Until an East stand happens obviously.0 -
I strongly suspect Gallacher will start at the weekend, maybe along with O' Hara. They'll be playing in Andorra though.
Both are away with Scotland Under 19s. Games tomorrow, Thursday and Sunday.
Do try and keep up, old chap. [emoji14]
That's explains it....0 -
He already got 90 minutes in last Monday at Airdrie. If he does that again tonight then he would probably be in contention for a starting place at Tannadice.
Totally agree.
Also, even if he plays 90mins tonight there's 5 days rest between games.
Although I notice Gallagher isn't in tonight's squad. Could he be getting a start on Sat in one of the full back slots?0 -
Shat it or buy the top?
Maybe because they are our derby rivals and didn't want to even be seen buying one? Is there a deal on Falkirk tops at the moment?
Nope, sold out so they must have bought it a while ago or spoken nicely to the club/kit man.0 -
Or we could just win the league and not have to deal with the play offs....

Lot of time for Ronnie & as others have said, the club will miss the work he has put in (for no wage) over the last 4/5 years.
It does seem that there is more to these board departures than is being said and for me the real worry is those that are left.0 -
Deserved win today.
Hopefully we are one of the teams to avoid Celtic U20s (if they progress) or any of the Welsh/Irish sides.
It's a Scottish senior tournament and hopefully returns to just that next season.0 -
Can't get FTV to work. Emailed them but they just said the game hasn't kicked off yet.
It came on eventually.
Decent 1st half from us & comfortably in front. Good goal from Elgin although it caught the cameraman out.
2nd half in silent though as Jamie McGowan is one moaning sod. Thomson isn't much better.0 -
Is today's game not on FTV? Down with man flu.

Brockville late 90s I think. I remember it getting a paint job when the ownership changed, that was 98 I think.
