  1. don't think I've ever been as bored and unexicited in a January window. Even during the pressley years.
iirc I even managed to get excited about Daniel Marceta, which turned out pretty badly.
Mind that Andy Hawthorn who Elvis signed too - we've had our share of wallopers in January deals actually.
ETA quick better meddle search it was Andy Hayworth. Was worth f**k all. Time for my meds!

Think he was a summer signing & released in the January no?
  2. When you consider that he was just coming back from injury, was playing his last game for Killie and was desperate to go to the Euros, that's actually a pretty good plan. One hard tackle early on and he would probably have been anonymous for the rest of the game. Instead.....

Leahy & hard tackle sadly don't go together.

  3. You won't get £500k for him, that's what we got for O'Halloran who was verging on a Scotland call up at the time.

I don't think you realise how contradictory you're being. You can't claim you'll make a fortune of a player you later say has serious injury problems.

Depends who is after him. We've got a strong record for selling a player or 2 down south every season for mid-high 6 figure sums.
  4. If Falkirk and/or the players agent do their best he'll end up at a bigger club than St Johnstone and for a good weekly wage that neither of us can match.

No disrespect to Saints who are currently in a much stronger position on the park than we are and would be a step up in that respect. But he will do much better than St Johnstone or Falkirk for that matter.

  5. If someone like Loy is indeed off to Morton, even on loan, that's a fairly embarrassing turn of events for a club of our stature to be honest. Especially when we are crying out for someone of his quality.

I can't see how anyone can be confident of finishing 3rd on current form and if we are sticking with this squad & Morton/Raith strengthen then they will surely be favourites for 3rd & 4th spot.

  6. Brockville was never mine, but seeing film or pictures of it always makes me sad for its loss.

Loved the place. What a noise & so close to the pitch. Don't get me wrong, it had its fair share of poor crowds & dead atmosphere games too but when it was good it was bloody good. Didn't always need a big crowd to have a good noise too.

I get quite frustrated with the opinion that our new place is always poor for atmosphere but there's been some big games & crowds that have had the place going bonkers and it's been up their in terms of memories made.
