don't think I've ever been as bored and unexicited in a January window. Even during the pressley years.
iirc I even managed to get excited about Daniel Marceta, which turned out pretty badly.
Mind that Andy Hawthorn who Elvis signed too - we've had our share of wallopers in January deals actually.
ETA quick better meddle search it was Andy Hayworth. Was worth f**k all. Time for my meds!
Think he was a summer signing & released in the January no?0 -
The likes of Beck, Bingham, Durojaiye, Roberts or Chalmers would not get a regular start in the current side.
Other than bringing Mark Millar in on loan, Holts signings were awful. He cost us promotion that season and should have been sacked before he was allowed to shuffle back to his job at Norwich.0 -
Couldn't give a monkeys who wins the cup if it's not Falkirk to be honest.
That said, working in Edinburgh has been pretty tedious since last May & genuinely can't wait for someone else to be the cup holders.-1 -
I'd love to know the meagre amount of cash BBC Alba pay for live games. I'd wager it doesn't cover what you lose off the gate & hospitality. The Morton game may have had a decent travelling support too.

When you consider that he was just coming back from injury, was playing his last game for Killie and was desperate to go to the Euros, that's actually a pretty good plan. One hard tackle early on and he would probably have been anonymous for the rest of the game. Instead.....
Leahy & hard tackle sadly don't go together.0 -
Liam Henderson to Cowdenbeath on loan. That's another centre mid summer signing surplus to current requirements.
Was signed for the development team so not really surplus.
He'll still play for the development side too.0 -
Ahem I became a grandpa for the 2nd time today, now that is old.
Congrats!0 -
A bloody long time ago now, man I feel old.
You are old mate....0 -
Why would we need him? We are screaming out for Alston's replacement.
Spot on. I'm sure Houstie will get his man/men soon enough.0 -
Loy was never on our radar.

How the hell have Celtic got 5 games in hand?Do they just play when the want too?
Could be wrong but think they had to play Champions League reserve games or whatever they are called.0 -
Wouldn't mind punting Leahy for 50 odd grand if it came along this window, seems like his time has come to an end anyway.
Isn't Leahy out of contract in the summer?0 -
Miller is the assistant to Maybury for the development team yeah.

Houston will have his scouts out searching for a right midfielder. Then may even be searching outside the central belt. Nah that's taking it to silly levels!
South Wales?0 -
You won't get £500k for him, that's what we got for O'Halloran who was verging on a Scotland call up at the time.
I don't think you realise how contradictory you're being. You can't claim you'll make a fortune of a player you later say has serious injury problems.
Depends who is after him. We've got a strong record for selling a player or 2 down south every season for mid-high 6 figure sums.0 -
If Falkirk and/or the players agent do their best he'll end up at a bigger club than St Johnstone and for a good weekly wage that neither of us can match.
No disrespect to Saints who are currently in a much stronger position on the park than we are and would be a step up in that respect. But he will do much better than St Johnstone or Falkirk for that matter.0 -
Do you seriously think his release was a convenient coincidence? He clearly asked to be released BECAUSE he had an offer from Falkirk which included a further season where he will feel he will likely be your no. 1 once your loan keeper goes back.
Spot on.
Although, I doubt he'll be our number 1 next season.0 -
Is this a move purely to release some some pound notes for wages? I sure hope so.
Sponsor allegedly meeting club tomorrow....... According to my mate who seems to be ITK... Time will tell. Perhaps this is to cover Falkirks end of the deal
Which sponsor? Central Demolition?0 -
Let's not forget it was Mehmet who asked to leave. FFC have just reacted by replacing him. I don't get the outrage on this one to be honest.

Loy was sitting in the Falkirk end on Monday
Saw that too. I doubt it means anything though as he was in with Alston & McGeever too.
I know he's best pals with Miller & that would help us get him but if there's no money to spend then it's not going to do us much good.0 -
If someone like Loy is indeed off to Morton, even on loan, that's a fairly embarrassing turn of events for a club of our stature to be honest. Especially when we are crying out for someone of his quality.
I can't see how anyone can be confident of finishing 3rd on current form and if we are sticking with this squad & Morton/Raith strengthen then they will surely be favourites for 3rd & 4th spot.0 -
Unless our form improves we are going to slide down this league to be honest. 4th already and Raith are only just behind us with a game in hand.

Brockville was never mine, but seeing film or pictures of it always makes me sad for its loss.
Loved the place. What a noise & so close to the pitch. Don't get me wrong, it had its fair share of poor crowds & dead atmosphere games too but when it was good it was bloody good. Didn't always need a big crowd to have a good noise too.
I get quite frustrated with the opinion that our new place is always poor for atmosphere but there's been some big games & crowds that have had the place going bonkers and it's been up their in terms of memories made.

I still think we'll have 2 players coming in, both right sided.
I just hope no one of note leaves.
