  1. Connolly and Durmus out. No wide players in. [emoji2962] Can’t wait for another few months of watching Tait meander down the right wing.
  2. Douglas McNeil indicating that something is still happening... unless he’s not seen the clubs tweet
  3. Think he’ll be away? Fakes were mentioned a while back.
  4. A 4-2-3-1 would work perfectly with what we have, maybe except left back - we’ve all heard (maybe even witnessed) that Tanser is more of a wing back, less good defensively, etc. Alnwick Fraser Shaughnessy McCarthy/Dunne Tanser Power Erhahon/Ronan Henderson/TBC McGrath Kiltie Brophy/Main
  5. Probably bumped into him at the Oriam as both Scotland and Hearts train there.
  6. Is Derek McInnes not absolutely roasting underneath those multiple jackets?
  7. Why is that a worry ? Is he not more versatile? I though he could play not only behind the strikers, but can also be utilised down the wing? I thought in his time he had been deployed as a RWB before? He has pace, would this not be what we need as both Tait and Fraser are more defensive minded and Henderson is still young. Would the pace of Kennedy and the crossing of Tanser not be what is needed in the system? I'm pretty sure Kennedy played RWB under McInnes last year and was largely ineffective/pish according to the Dons fans on here.
  8. If we are in for Matty Kennedy, then I worry that Jim will try and shoehorn him into the RWB position.
  9. My answer is going to be really vague and simplistic here, because I'm not really sure to be honest. But I think, after conceding four goals in two games, I'd like to see him back in the team. Tough one.
  10. I think the 3-5-2 works in certain situations, just not every game. Jim's being pretty stubborn about it which is worrying. Also - get McCarthy back in the team. Thanks.
  11. Douglas McNeil pouring cold water on the James Scott and Middleton talk.
  12. He's more of a striker than a winger isn't he? Or is he one of those guys that can play wing and striker?
  13. Due to various reasons, I'm not renewing my season ticket this year, but I'll still be able to make the odd home game. God knows when I'm going to be allowed in though.
  14. I'm not sure McCarthy playing on the right of the three would fit into Jim's system. Think of how Tierney plays in the Scotland back three - advancing up the field, swapping with Roberston, basically an attacking defensive player. I think he's trying to get Fraser to play that role, and as a full-back, the attacking part comes pretty naturally to him. The perfect example is the win at Parkhead last season. Fraser was pushing up all the time and gave Celtic a real headache. I don't think McCarthy would fit in that role. Edited to add: I think McCarthy is excellent. But Shaughnessy is captain and performs a vital role for us. And now Dunne has given us some left-sided balance in the back line. Normally I'd have McCarthy as the first name on the teamsheet.
  15. Power(or McGrath even)/Erhahon gives us that natural balance of a right-footer/left-footer In theory it means you can shift the ball across the pitch much more quickly and in a more comfortable fashion.
  16. Returning home from Majorca tomorrow. We booked a wee week away as our original honeymoon was cancelled. It’s felt like ‘normal’ on the whole over here, just masks indoors and that’s it. Apart from that it’s been like any other holiday. Thankfully our pre-departure tests were negative so all clear to return home.
