  1. the pressley years after relegation were brutal, wee renaissance in the middle of the decade under Houston then the love street crash of august 17 and the now bottomless pit of depths
  2. the classic "flu like symptoms" is the same for so many viruses because what you feel is your body's reaction to them rather than the virus itself
  3. just to b awkward, I know some people in their 20s who have consistently acted like one sniff of this would mean certain death despite having little to fear (on paper at least) and are still living like that, I also know some people who probably should be a bit more cautious but have been acting quite blase about it the whole time, who knows, everybody's different..
  4. LA's are the worst for adding extra layers of shite on top of whatever is mandated, this is just like them taking snow days
  5. everything does seem to be picking up pace at the moments, cases hospitalizations etc, going to be interesting what happens on monday, given teh rates at which the rest of the world is chucking rules on the fire i think they're going to have to stick to the plan this time
  6. Incorrect where does it come from then?
  7. all fuel is the exact same and is bought by the retailers from wholesale, BP don't necessarily make bp fuel and shell shell etc, all fuel comes from the refinery or depot which is most local to the station
  8. my own parents have a very narrow band of whats acceptable; anything they see as beneath them is a load of shite, anything they can't afford is just a waste of money anyway and yer no missing much...
  9. the public have had enough now, most people have either had it or know someone who has, naebody is feart from it anymore except those who need to be and a few vocal politicised shriekers
  10. office staff tried that at our work, what they found was that it was so popular, a few cynical people decided not to bother doing the longer hours thro the week since they realised that come Friday there was nae c**t there to keeps tabs on them and they could f**k off by 11. Anyway, heres todays update. it is certainly true that hospital numbers have went up a fair bit, we still dont have much breakdown in the for/with area. perhaps it could be down to many more people either not testing or not reporting results and the official figure are more a reflection of those who are unwell rather than simple positive tests. it would paint a picture of community transmission being quite high at the moment. ICU has stayed pretty flat tho 8,656 new cases of COVID-19 reported. 0 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are generally closed at weekends) 18 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 1,360 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  11. Presentee-ism and the expectation of it from boses is probably down to a not insignificant amount of absentee-ism in our culture, every place i've worked has had someone who earned the nickname bob geldoff due to their habbit of feeling "poorly" on a monday. i know of several people who have been chronically unable to hold down a job , not because they are addicted dependent alcoholics, but because they can't pull up the handbrake on a sunday afternoon
  12. Jason Leitch: No reason for panic or restrictions despite Covid rise in Scotland - STV News when this c**t is saying shit happens, it really is over way back in summer 2020 he did actually say on OTB that eventually this would become endemic and there would be no need to worry or even try to prevent the majority of cases, were surely at that point
  13. Pretty much agree with every bit of this, I think monkey is being a bit of a knobb sometimes but it seems now that todd and oaky have turned there frustrations towards others who are not getting over the pandemic as fast as they are. But unfortunately that was always going to happen, history told us that many people remained cautious and frightened after the 1918 pandemic had subsided. it's just the way people are. And now you've also got politics involved too
  14. interesting, that's the only place i've been challenged at the door snce i stopped wearing mine at the turn of the year That's the things about almost all of our covid restrictions, for each one there were a list of exceptions as long as your arm that effectively made them un policeable and unenforceable ; you can't leave house except for ...., you can't enter someone else's house except when... blah blah! when it came to masks youd have to be wearing a t shirt saying " there's nothing wrong with me I'm just choosing not to wear one!" to actually get in trouble for it considering that you could more or less self certify your exemption and businesses were specifically told do not challenge and do not refuse entry. basically, they were asking you not telling you What else i find odd is the different attitudes from north to south of Europe, in normal times it is us, the Germans and the scandavs that tend to be the sticklers for rules & strict enforcement of them, whereas the Mediterranean countries are more like ..rules? what rules? But when it came to covid it was them that went a bit OTT with masks and lockdowns Finally, we must stop and never again try this complete intelligence insulting pish that is "wearing a cloth or disposable mask protects others by way of reducing transmission" f**k, ok, IF you are fully symptomatic, choked up, coughing , spluttering and sneezing big covidy snotters all over the place, then maybe yes a mask might reduce transmission, reduce it from a ridiculously high level in the first place and even in the absence of mandatory isolation, you'd need to be quite irresponsible to be getting at close quarters with others in that state. they absolutely do not stop microscopic particles from asymptomatic persons, if they did, places which implemented them would see a difference in rates, which they did not. only a fitted filtered mask will work and it will only protect the wearer all other masks were purely psychological, a visual reminder to stop people getting comfortable and forgetting there's a pandemic on

  16. in other news.. i'm off to blast jess glynn at full volume Jet2 becomes the first airline to drop face-coverings rule (msn.com)
  17. it's shite that it's taken a war with all the death and misery that brings to put this into perspective tbh
  18. With all eyes on ukraine , 2019 normality will slip in unopposed as those c***s shrieking all the time will look silly & insensitive in comparison to the actual man made death and destruction happening over there who should quite rightly be the target of any criticism
  19. correct, back in the day the soviets had cuba on side, they then tried to get more countries in central America and the Caribbean to become allies and therefor have a viable means of attacking the continental US and the US met that by sponsoring some pretty nasty insurgent groups who opposed them and in some cases used military force
  20. How do they even enforce it anyway? I’m not sure what I’ll do if i was to get it after the need to isolate is gone, I’ll likely go out for some fresh air and exercise. Go to a drive through, might nip into a shop for something. I wouldn’t go mental just yet. Not sure if i had a holiday booked tho ..
