  1. McGlynn chose to leave, and his form the second half of this season was worse than what we are currently seeing. I do see plenty of positives from the performances we are putting in, but we need to start finding solutions sooner rather than later! A few of the games we've lost, on other days, we could easily have won with a bit of luck on our side. The back 4 have been doing well, we look decent enough in midfield - we've had a few injuries as well, with Ross, Gullan and Nolan in previous weeks. I don't think we are far away from turning this around, but time will tell. I do think Murray needs to bring in someone to help him out, and give him a few fresh ideas. wouldn't hurt!
  2. Its frustrating, because a couple of games we haven't been far away - Dundee at home was one mistake - Partick away a couple of early mistakes. There's definitely room for improvement there, and hopefully if they get this big lad in up top, that may provide another option up front. We're getting players back from injury as well in the coming weeks. Also think it would be good for the manager to get in an assistant in ASAP - give him a bit of support, but maybe a different perspective as well. Think folk are getting a wee bit worked up. A few pieces of the jigsaw to fall into place still, but I'm not seeing the total doom and gloom yet that others are.
  3. I think Murray has been quite clear he wants to bring in the right player, and from those he's looked at, very few of them have fit the bill. But budget, cost of living etc.... will be having a massive impact too. i heard the Stenhousemuir chairman saying their clubs electricity is going to increase by approx 20k over the next year - and thats a part time club. I imagine the next player we bring it will be the last we can afford on the current budget, so Murray will want, and need, to get it right!
  4. Absolutely! The costs all clubs must be facing right now will be insane - they aren't protected by the energy cap - hopefully some form of business support offered as well as the proposed freeze on our own personal bills, otherwise a lot of businesses, not just football clubs, will simply not be viable over the winter.
  5. Dont think it is a loan - he was a free agent, and the article mentioned permanent deal til the end of the season.
  6. In theory, yeah, you'll not have been able to select a season ticket seat or a seat that someone else has already bought.
  7. or, they could both do really well, impress, and go back to their clubs leaving us to scramble about in January again for new defenders. We'll not be chucking Lang straight back in.
  8. Those kind of players cost a fair bit of money! Is there many even available??? Also, in terms of experience.... Did Scott Brown not play in European qualifiers and in the PL with St Johnstone? Or does that no count either?
  9. or just sit in the right seat in the first place i suppose!
  10. suppose you just need to be prepared to move if someone has bought individual tickets and wants to sit in the seat they've bought for. Wont happen much this season, but the Dunfermline game last season on the Friday night was a nightmare with bairns up the back sitting in our season ticket seasts - one told me he wasn't moving as it was first come first served, and he was in at 7! Its more an issue if you arrive later expecting (rightly) to get the seat you've paid for. Some folk feel they are entitled over all others sadly.
  11. I'm not expecting a totally settled team, but we should set out the season as we mean to go on. We aren't good enough to write off the first few games, and if you start off by losing the first few, there's a risk you end up like Dunfermline, no momentum, no wins from 7 - 8 - 9- 10.... pressure builds, and you find yourself looking for a new manager come October!
  12. agree with all that's been said about work rate - outstanding last night from everyone. I suppose that's where having that slightly bigger squad will be needed, because you'll need a wee bit of rotation with that amount of effort going in every week. We obviously have Vaughan Zanatta Matthews and Spencer coming back in there as well, which will add a bit, but not sure how Matthews and Spencer get into that team at the moment! If there was a heat map for Easton's movement across the pitch, there would hardly be an empty space - keen to get on the ball no matter where on the pitch, and helps with the movement of players around him too, with that similar mentality. Connelly looks like he is playing with so much confidence, Stanton looks a classy player, and i think playing along side that will only improve Ethan Ross as well! Good work rate from Mitchell too, plenty potential there, and will learn loads playing alongside Ross and Easton. Thought the full backs did well, Millen worked hard, got into good positions, just needs to work on a wee bit of touch on his crosses. Dick took his goal well! Where was Aaron Arnott last night?
  13. Back 4 of Millen, Brown, Dick (cpt) and Young Trialist playing up top with Gullan
  14. I dropped our supporters director Dorothy a message during lunch - Season tickets NOT valid for QotS friendly. £10 / £5 available here Buy Match Tickets | Raith Rovers FC, or can buy at the ticket office on Wednesday night
  15. i think you do, but dont think they've sent any out yet - did we get a barcode with our online renewal purchase maybe??? I'll need to check.
  16. Matthews was hobbling about on a set of crutches Saturday, and Vaughan clearly in a bit of discomfort after his wee op last week as well.
  17. Did Murray not say potentially 2 wrapped up by the end of this week. Assume that interview was recorded prior to Millen signing, but would suggest another one expected this week.
  18. Mixed on Bene - always a player i've liked, always solid enough at the back, but just think he's lost a wee bit of something the past year or two. He's not the standout he was 5-6 years ago. Particularly in the middle of last season, when Lang and Berra were playing, it looked like Bene would struggle to get in the team. Maybe Murray fancies something a bit different at the back, which he's well within his rights to do! i imagine at Benes age we prob only offered him a year, and he'd prob be after a bit more security. Will defo do a job down in League 1 though. Sad to see him go all the same. A good servant to the club.
  19. I'd think a lot of people will be holding back on season tickets until they see the quality of players we are bringing in. club have sold 500 season tickets in the first week, so can't imagine many are holding back. Maybe a slight downturn due to the fiasco with Goodwillie, and maybe a few will renew if and hopefully when the club inform us that he is no longer on the payroll - that could be a potential issue for some more than signings....
  20. I'm thinking that it'll go up relatively quickly. It might need little to no breaking of ground if it's a portacabin structure. the plans seemed to suggest part of the car park will be restructured, and they will need to put some kind of foundations and services in for water power etc, so I imagine it will be similar to the ground work they did for the Titan
  21. Thought the season tickets were fairly priced - despite costs going up for everything around us, they've reintroduced the early bird for current season ticket holders to renew which is good, and kept prices fairly low for the different junior age groups. Decent enough discounts as well if that's your thing. Just over £15 a game for full paying adults, and the kids for under £3/£1.50 a game is a really good deal. Decent week last week - New manager who seems favored by the majority, and a good first signing followed by the season. A good start, and already renewed mine.
  22. totally agree, my only wee concern with Murray going after the players he was looking at for Airdrie, is this is a level up. That will open up some new players for Murray to look at, and also re-assess whether some of the players he felt good enough for Airdrie, will be good enough for Raith competing hopefully in the top half Championship. Would
  23. Think its facilities for the community use of the pitch - toilets, changing facilities, cafe, offices etc.... You can have a look at the plans on the fife council planning website and theres floorplans and stuff there. Details lodged against the planning application https://planning.fife.gov.uk/online/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=QZ664FHFJPW00&activeTab=summary Erection of community hub (Class 10) with link structure and associated reconfiguration of existing car parking arrangements
