  1. I am, I’m quite happy to capitalise on another team’s misfortune [emoji23]
  2. Well hopefully they pick up some suspensions and injuries, seems an extremely tight squad for the team with a budget that should double everyone else’s by their season ticket sales, any reason they’re doing this? Are they paying debts off or just going for quality over quantity?
  3. Doubt there’ll be a large away support for this 19:45 K/O makes public transport near impossible to get home after the game. So only options are drive, supporters bus or stay in Glasgow. Think most will just watch it on Alba. Had it been Sat or Sun would have been a good away support for the day out. Shit kick off time. Not sure if I’ll bother, what’s parking like at the stadium?
  4. Sorry but it’s not about being unfair to the SOS their ambitious teams should stay at tier 6 by joining the WOS. The other teams need to be realistic though. Say you’re a St Cuthbert’s fan and the SOS as is remains here’s the scenarios if you win. Tier 6 play off against Talbot/Linlithgow (cricket scores both legs) Tier 6 automatic promotion to a continually strengthening Lowland League (season of cricket scores) There is absolutely no enjoyment for a fan of St Cuthbert in those scenarios. Keeping the SOS too high won’t do their clubs any favours. There’s no point in promoting their champions into a league that they’d be non competitive in.
  5. Tier 7 will almost certainly cover the entire WOS area just as tier 7 in the East will cover the EOS area if the Dumfries and Galloway clubs want to stay at a higher level they need to represent an area larger than D&G. Under your proposal if all the WRJFA move over the champions of the SOS will be promoted into what is effectively the current West Region Premiership. How would the SOS champions fare? I’d think they’d be on the end of several embarrassing results. The best the SOS should be if it expands to bring in some of the South Ayrshire teams is tier 8 if they stay covering just D&G they’d be even lower. A Fife League wouldn’t expect to be tier 7. Tier 6 WOS Prem Tier 7 WOS First Tier 8 WOS North and South Tier 9 regional divisions
  6. Can’t blame JC for looking at every option on behalf of Fauldhouse they need to look at all the options. Personally I think we need a fixed boundary between East and West and I’d be surprised if it doesn’t happen as EOS will want to protect their interests as for WOS and SOS I think the ambitious SOS teams should be joining the WOS and the remaining SOS teams volunteering to feed the WOS at a lower tier more appropriate to the ambitions and size of these clubs. This is no disrespect to the SOS but do 90% of their teams really want to stay at tier 6 playing off against the far stronger leagues? WOS should automatically accept any SOS who want to remain tier 6 so no team is forced to drop down.
  7. Talbot were told that when they tried to get licensed a few years ago.
  8. To paraphrase Blackadder goes Forth Tom Johnstone has formulated a brilliant new tactical plan to ensure final victory at the PWG. Ah. Would this brilliant plan involve all in at tier 6 or none in? How could you possibly know that? It's classified information! It's the same plan that we used last time and the seventeen times before that. Exactly! And that is what is so brilliant about it! It will catch the watchful East of Scotland totally off guard! Doing precisely what we've done eighteen times before is exactly the last thing they'll expect us to do this time! There is, however, one small problem. That everyone rejects it in the first ten seconds. That's right. And Tom Johnstone is worried this may be depressing the teams a tad. So he's looking for a way to cheer them up. Well, his resignation and suicide seems the obvious choice. Hmm, interesting thought. Make a note of it.
  9. Both Ex Rovers, would have been a shoe in for a goal each.
  10. I’d think it’ll be resolved if the boundary is the tay or not at the end of the season if Brechin go down, if they end up Highland league, it’s not moving.
  11. With the amount of teams who’ve publicly shown an interest I’d be surprised if there’s not more than 16 teams in a WOSFL next season. Although I guess the West teams will have seen how it panned out in the East where teams now moving could well be going to tier 8 as Kelty / Bonnyrigg enter tier 4.
  12. I think you’re giving the SFA more credit than they deserve.
  13. I assume new applications will start at tier 8? And if there’s enough a regional split at tier 8?
  14. With regards to Thornton, as I understand it they’ve had planning permission for their fence for a while. I’d be shocked if they haven’t been raising fund to build it especially these last two years as like the rest of us they can see which way the clubs around them are heading.
  15. Assurances of no Tuesday night’s Vs Peterhead, Elgin or Cove and the SFA to cover the costs of gold plated toilets. Promotion is to be optional and they must be allowed to keep paying fines to the SJFA, floodlights are never to be used and absolutely no 3:00 kick offs
  16. More surprised there haven’t been more back the juniors, loyal to the grade statements. I guess a lot of clubs not showing their hand yet and some will have to canvass opinion with their members and fan bases.
  17. I guess Tom Johnstone was mistaken when he said there was no interest in a WOSFL [emoji848]
  18. Only known one is K&D, Burnie_man knows one has applied I believe (no idea if it’s K&D) and he’s mentioned other have enquired but he won’t say who as it’s up to the clubs to go public.
  19. Who’s left in SJFA from Fife, will the rest follow. Fife isn’t exactly a junior stronghold like West Lothian and Ayrshire, with more Fife teams in the pyramid than out the rest will certainly have to consider their options.
  20. 9.5 it’ll happen unless someone at the SFA of SJFA come up with a way to block it and I really can’t see that happening. The SFA will stay silent and I’d imagine TJ will call for unity and loyalty to the grade but that’s about it.
  21. Not sure why any club would call it a day, clubs playing in a WOSFL will be playing across pretty much the exact same geographical location so no real difference in travel costs, licencing isn’t compulsory so no outlay to join. Any smaller clubs stay Junior or wait a couple of seasons until lower tiers are formed at more local levels. No one in the East called it a day that left or stayed SJFA. I’m sure the SJFA will adapt the leagues to suit any who wish to remain as the ERJFA have.
  22. Talbot must be there about too if they joined as they tried to get licensed not long ago.
  23. Disagree with Talbot being unlikely they said a while ago they’ll see what others do, Talbot will go if the other big clubs go. Can’t really blame them they’ve probably got the most to lose joining the pyramid the Juniors works well for them and they are the dominant team so would probably rather this all just went away. However they’re clearly well run at board level and despite their Junior rallying call I’d be amazed if their board weren’t keeping tabs on both scenarios. They’ll go if the floodgate opens as they won’t want to be left behind.
  24. The SOSFL need to be realistic here and end up as part of the WOSFL at a lower tier, any SOSFL teams with aspirations to climb beyond a Dumfries and Galloway League should be applying to the WOSFL. Staying as they are at tier 6 really isn’t good. It was fine to start with when the EOSFL was weaker but now the SOSFL are looking at annual humiliations by the EOSFL and WOSFL and I doubt their clubs will relish watching cricket scores. Tier 6 should be a straight East / West. Champions promoted to LL and East v West Playoff for the runners up.
