  1. Always have a little search of these forums for Calum Antell whenever the boy is mentioned. Seems he has put in a few good performances at Edinburgh City and is described as their "player of the year". Emergency loan?
  2. See we've made FourFourTwo Australia https://www.fourfourtwo.com.au/feature/queen-of-the-souths-back-up-goalkeeper-is-hit-by-a-runaway-cow-485704 Also the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5419797/Queen-South-keeper-Sam-Henderson-injured-cow.html "But he injured a shoulder when struck by a speeding cow at his dad's farm" What was it doing even driving?!
  3. Delighted to find litre bottles of the original for £1 each. Newsagent next to Tesco by Crystal Palace station. Stocking up tomorrow.
  4. Sounds like you have experience so not doubting this is true, but it's a surprising one. I haven't seen football in Poland, but I was with the ultras at Besiktas a few years ago - not long after the Leeds' fans were stabbed in the same city - and was made to feel welcome.
  5. Is there anything to prevent shareholders posting it on here?
  6. Newcastle Town is an interesting one as you probably know. Inside a velodrome.
  7. P.s. going to London Lions v Worcester Wolves tomorrow night in the British Basketball League.
  8. I am sure they love you too. Fascinated to hear what makes her peculiar?
  9. Nice way for the club to trial the perennial suggestion that reducing ticket prices would lead to bigger crowds. Comparisons need to be drawn with other Tuesday night matches at full price rather than Saturday games. Tuesday night cup matches will be the best comparator as STs would also be invalid for those.
  10. Link to photo album of inside pages How many of the advertisers can you still spot on the High Street? J Edgar for one... (This is only the fifth programme the club ever produced, so they did well to fill it with advertisers)
  11. I went to Dulwich Hamlet 0-0 Metropolitan Police on Saturday. It was boring. Good team to go and watch if you are in London though. 1500+ crowds in the Ryman League. Not sure why?
  12. I see Akubuine has gone out on loan to BSC Glasgow. An interesting choice rather than the usual Dalbeattie Star/Annan Athletic/Gretna 2008 fare. Can SD or anyone explain why he's gone to them specifically? I would be interested to see info about the progression of players who have gone out on Development loans. My impression is that the ones who have been sent out on development loans previously have tended to be released at the end of the season, i.e. it's something we do for players we don't believe will make it. That is very possibly wrong though...
  13. I know we are meant to email the SLC but to be honest I find it easier posting here, I know they are members. Think it would be class if we introduced Zorb Football at half-time. Maybe 3v3 or 5v5, charge £5 each and have a Home v Away fans match?
  14. Bit late but Wycombe Wanderers is only 23 minutes by train. Or you could look at some of the non-league games in the Isthmian League, Essex Senior League, Middlesex League etc!
  15. Absolutely shocking decision regarding Lyle. Looks like it's the manager who's made the decision. Anyone want to make a list of all the senior players he's frozen out since joining us. Don't know the stats but is Lyle not still one if our top scorers this year despite never getting a game. A legend with the fans and a hall of famer given the boot in his testimonial year. Think Saturday needs a 90 minute rendition of "One Derek Lyle"
  16. Aye but that's not really a fair reflection. He's had two seasons at each of Stenhousemuir, East Stirling and Stranraer in that time. The only clubs he has done one season or less at are an American mob on an extended holiday, Dunfermline (who loaned him out), and Dumbarton where he was highly rated.
  17. I know this was a flippant comment but thinking on it more there is a point to be made: it's not clear who we are trying to attract/who is our target market. Whisky and cheap cigars is clearly a non-starter but it would appeal to a certain type of person... your brown shoes wearing, old school, man's man kinda man. We won't attract those who like an exciting day out watching good football, because we play hoofball and pick Dykes instead of Stirling. We won't attract that modern kind of happy clappy fan because of the state of the ground and lack of modern, happy clappy promotions like free hand clappers. We won't attract the youth vote interested in casual culture and being a bit of a lad because of how unsympathetically the young team were dealt with. I really hope the SLO do a great job and reserve judgement on them, but until the SLO started we basically just went out to schools and put up posters around town. The target market was basically kids not capable of getting themselves to a game, and football fans moving into the town who aren't aware QoS existed. Think we need a concept of our target market as a starting point...
  18. Reckon you would attract a few more if there was a stall dispensing whisky and cheap cigars.
