  1. Great work indeed and glad there are still people putting in energy to promote the club. However, I reckon anyone who wanted to know could find out when the fixtures are. Banners and the like should be promoting a positive image of the club somehow...taking a risk and talking about 'home grown boys', 'EPL-experience' and a photo of Dobbs, 'Naysmiths Men' and photos side-by-side of him in his Scotland jersey and him on our touchline. That sort of thing... give a new perspective to folk who are not currently attracted to the concept of a Queen of the South home game. I am sure there are more creative folk who can come up with better ideas than me though!
  2. The manager has already been talking about how difficult it is accommodating his options up front with all of Del, Dykes, Dobbie and Kane deserving starts and having to unduly disappoint players every week. I am not sure how signing McFadden helps with that? Still, Naysmith is doing well at the moment so I will reserve judgement. Hope the signing pays off!
  3. Can't we just get Dobbie to punt balls at the seagulls/local yutes?
  4. Internal disarray is merely reflected by inaccurate details on Lochfield Road. Personally, I think it's a sign...
  5. Would this be a bigger step up than second-bottom East Fife to Palmerston, though?
  6. This is true, but we knew this when we plucked him from East Fife, second bottom in the division below. Given that and the fact he is on a 2 year contract, I can't see him going anywhere unless he resigns.
  7. Trying to move on... Besty what do you think about the idea that penalty kicks are a lottery?
  8. In fact let Dobbie go too. Let him enjoy his football. Whoever is paying Dobbie's wage is being taken for a ride - the board or manager are apparently content to let him and his funder carry us.
  9. Link here to the highlights in case it has not already been posted. I have paused my video at full-time before the penalties. I am a merciless Gary Naysmith critic as I do not think he has earned the job and suspect his hubris of jeopardising our club's success. I do not trust his public comments as I think he is a good talker. On this one though I agree with his post match interview and I see a lot of positives in that performance. Okay right back continues to be a problem area with whoever plays there getting sucked in towards the action in the centre of the field, meaning the attacking team can outflank us on the right. Hopefully this can be coached out. Midfield continues to look like a void, although there is some bite in Tapping (a crunching tackle v Hamilton, motivating the players after Stenny scored) which you would not expect to look at him and we know Jacobs can break up play. The goal we conceded is a shambles. Onto the positives: there is good link up play between Dobbie and Dykes. They seem to have a connection growing. This may be because Dobbs is just so good he can connect with anyone. Still, there were at least two crosses which Lyndon was inches away from poking into the net. I think he lacks a killer instinct (i.e. when he was through on goal in the first half and delayed). Hopefully this is a confidence/early season issue and he can live up to the tattoos and show a bit of attitude. Murray seems to know his role well - running with the ball on the right wing, coming central and finding space when the ball is out left, tracking back to defend as required. Murray's defending was toothless throughout the video but he is not afraid to get stuck in (full credit for that, another skinny one like Tapping) so hopefully with a bit of accuracy to the tackles that will improve. Finally, the keeper - what an improvement on last season. From a keeper who can't save on his own side at a free-kick, to one who can get across to save shots coming over the wall. In summary, RB needs coaching, Murray needs work on his defending, Lyndon needs more killer instinct, midfield needs more bite - it sounds like a lot, but marginal improvements are required in all areas. There is a of course a lack of depth as well. It could come good... could.
  10. 14 goals in 16 starts in League One in 15/16 and then did fairly poorly last year as Peterheid got relegated, now advertising his services on my LinkedIn newsfeed. Given our propensity for those poorly performing in League One...time to snap him up? Attacking mid / striker.
  11. To be fair to Naysmith, he was a weird appointment, second bottom in League One, and has always had to earn his right to be here in some supporters eyes, including mine. That informs a lot of the negativity. I still feel negative but honestly this board is only a joy to read when people are smiling so finger's crossed it all looks up soon.
  12. I think it is clear to anyone who is watching that Naysmith is horrifically negative. This is something I first noticed after we won away to Ayr United and Dobbie scored a worldie. Naysmith started his post-match comments on Dobbie by saying "Aye you mibbe get annoyed with him cus he does miss a lot of chances". About our best player who had just scored two goals in an away victory over (some would say) a rival team?? Everything he says is negative. His comments halfway through the summer about we may struggle to sign who we need and have to make through. Young Rooney who has just joined and made a silly mistake to give away the pen v Stenhousemuir. How does Naysmith react in the dugout in front of a bunch of other youngsters? With compsure? With guidance? No...he cannae control himself and just starts balling "Whits he dooooin??" to no-one in particular. Everything about him is negative.
  13. Anyway, getting back to football matters, anyone think we should have kept Pat Slottery?
