  1. I'm guessing that picture is more 1990 than 80. I'm also guessing shooboax is nearer the age of starting puberty soon. But as I say it's just a guess.

Anyway, a couple of random thoughts on us over the last few weeks. I think the whole fear over Locke being appointed was a huge overreaction, it still could prove unsuccessful but I hope not.  His signings seem to be interesting and not the usual former players that we feared. As for the two he has worked with, they will be decent additions.

Friday night was was hard work, but already you have seen some upsets from bigger teams in the competition so nothing to worry about. We team looked fairly solid, apart from midfield, no way we can start with Callaghan and Matthews in CM, too lightweight and not enough experience between them.

The new striker has plenty of pace and looks like a player, thought his challenge was easily a straight red though, looks like he has a bit of fire in him.

Coustrain looks like he could be a favourite as well, looking forward to him ripping a few RBs this season.

  2. Utd, since the Thompson family arrived haven't exactly been chalking up the friends.

It started with Falkirk in January 2003 and is still evident 13 years later.

I don't think it's fair to blame DUFC or their fans. It's more a case of laying the blame squarely at the feet of 1 disgusting family.

Raith are just the latest in queue to hope bad things happen to them.

Thompson is a w****r without doubt, but to label them a disgusting family is a bit much. What are you basing this on?

  3. Grim on here isn't it? Like sitting in the south stand. Happy with McHattie, would have probably preferred McKeown like most but as most predicted since January that has been looking unlikely anyway.

Just out of interest any idea how many goals were set up with his long throw in? I do remember them being dangerous, just can't remember any goals from them off the top of my head.

  4. Can't for the life of me remember what game it was but at the final whistle he clearly wasn't a happy chappy and was inviting Rovers fans for a scrap outside. Fair enough he was getting pelters, those fans were arseholes as well, but to respond like that is just very arseholey behaviour. I think he came out with some guff as well when he signed for a lower league team, something along the lines of that particular team were 'going places' whereas we were going backwards. Just came across as a very bitter wee tube.

Always liked walker at the rovers, even if he was a bit frustrating at times, but the only players that don't frustrate don't seem to hang around for long. So he took a few digs when he got let go and wanted a square go with some boys who were bigger arseholes than him? Not bothered with that at all. I don't get the hate for him, was a decent and passionate player for us in general.

  5. I can only comment on the games against us, but Connolly looked a really special player. It's so unusual to have a guy as technically gifted as him playing at this level. There's plenty of players like Longridge imo.

Correct. Would definitely have Longridge back at the club but wouldn't be overly disappointed if he wasn't. To get Connolly back would be a huge bonus.

  6. This thread's gone mental. I hope he does well this season then gives a big GIRUY to the South Stand.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new season even if no one else is.

^^^^^^^ love this guy. Just about to post the same, would never have picked Locke if I had 10 reasonable choices, but he is here and it could go tits up, but it could not. Let's just see and (hopefully) enjoy.

  7. Have big doubts any woman can be successful at a league club in Britain until at least a few have tried and got some of the stigma out of the way. As someone else pointed out, why is Kerr even getting mentioned when she is hardly doing anything of note at her current club in the lowland league. Good luck to her, hope she has a decent career but let her test the waters somewhere that isn't here and right now.

  8. Whit?

He was only here for a few games and he had an almost immediate impact in terms of improvement.

Not that he'd be leaving Hearts to slum it with us again.

His record on the pitch wasn't that great in terms of wins but the difference in belief and set up from dazza's team was unbelievable. It was always an understanding that he was only here to basically help rather than be a permanent manager but if he stuck with us we would have been out of that league sharpish I reckon.

But no, he will not be leaving Hearts that's for sure.
