  1. It was Eric Drysedale who said he knew for fact that we had the lowest full time budget but thought he said in the championship not Scottish football but could be wrong but anyway take what you want from what he says.Like you doubtful our budget is lower than Livi and defo not lower than Airdrie

Is Airdrie not still part time? Thought it was recently announced that they would be going full time from next season. As for Livi, who cares as they will probably not any pay wages and just decide administration is the best option.

  2. Did anyone have a problem with the kids season ticket vouchers for yesterday's game? When I went down to the gate it turned out both sons ticket B had already been removed from both season tickets but the both still had ticket A in their books. I can't think why both tickets had been removed and been racking my brains to see if we had used it for a previous offer. The auld codger at the turnstiles wasn't for letting in my sons pal despite both set of parents, brothers and friends through the turnstiles leaving him himself, had to out the side door to go and get him.

Anyway, the news on Hardie maybe staying next season is very exciting, if true I may even wish Rangers well next season. With Thonson signing again the squad is looking very good at this stage.

  3. Some folk really need to get a grip, this isn't an ideal situation for the fans or indeed the board, but it's a decision that is understandable. We have a hardcore support of around 1200-1400 and it really doesn't rise above that for games, even against Rangers. There was under 5500 for the game against them last week, at least 4000 must have been Rangers fans, it's going to be the same again next time round. Folk are quick to talk about Scottish football and all the negatives around it, but how can refuse punters when there is plenty empty seats around the ground. Can you imagine if we were going to win the league at a small ground like Bayview or somewhere similar but they wouldn't move some of the home support along the stand to accommodate more rovers fans, everyone would be on here saying its ridiculous.

In saying all that I really do feel for the regulars in the main stand but it's a sign of the times where our club is at in terms of our own support. I have had my seat moved a few times from where I normally sit and like it or not it's one game where you need to sit in another seat for a game of football.

  4. Here's the photo in the FFP. Not got a clue but someone on here will be along shortly with the answer.

Sure the no 10 is Mark Buist, who was a young centre half with us. Didnt really play all that much for us but im sure he had a game against rangers at starks in the league, must have been 1995 and played well. Recognise the other but can put a name to him.

  5. 15-20, there isnae much in it because after 95-95, the two or three season after it were even more disappointing than most seasons because of the previous title winning and cup winning seasons before that where we were totally spoiled.

My apologies, I did not know that when you said you would get off the Murrays back if he kept us up that you were not doing at the game only on your computer, not really sure there is a big difference or not, but there you go.

You are probably right though maybe football forums are not really for me as you can tell by my post count and the fact that I have been a regular reader for a good few years. Really don't go on fantalk anymore, but I have seen that auld blether and I cannot work out why he bothers to go to the game. But like yourself maybe its more or a social thing, but sure as f**k i wouldnae be spending £17 to sit in usually the freezing cold for the social aspect if I wasn't too bothered, rather just wait in the pub for my pals to come back. Each to their own I suppose.

  6. The feelgood factor could come to an abrupt halt unless we get some positive results in the league. I will get off their backs when we're safe from relegation. A diddy cup triumph won't change that.

Its this comment that I can't understand, however desperate you are to get on their backs, why can't you just wait until the end of season to see where we finish. By your reckoning we have only had 3 more seasons where we have done better in the last 20 years. Only one of those seasons we have finished higher in the league than we are at present. All those years were under McGlynn as well, which means since Jimmy Nics first spell in charge we have had 12 managers, with only McGlynn, doing better than Murray is at the moment.

You can call me a happy clapper all you want but I am pleased at how the club is getting run from the board off it to the manager on the pitch. I have sat in that south stand all season and for the last few months, when some performances and results have been pretty poor, I have heard the the likes of Murray, Cardle and Robinson get it tight, very unfairly in my opinion, but come last Sunday at Easter Rd and at night in O'Connells I saw a lot of those fans that have been the most vocal on the players backs for the last few months be among the first people to be all over the manager and players in O'Connells telling them they were legends and so on, it was quite amusing to say the least, made my night just that little bit better.

  7. No I didnt expect to be in 9th and we wont be either, just like we can still get 4th place but again we prob wont.

The diddy cup, call it whatever you want but at the end of the day it was up there with any day i have had supporting the rovers since the 90s.

The seasons that you have stated that were better, 2011, really good league campaign, at the end of it though we got f**k all out of it apart fae a real sare defeat at east end. 2010, getting one round further than this years Scottish cup and finishing 7th with 11 wins, sounds a bit similiar eh? Lastly 2009, that was prob my fav season since 94/95, ending with winning the league at hampden and getting the match ball for my sons birthday, great day, great season but it was only the second div, is that no a diddy league in your eyes?

What a miserable fucker you sound. We have had some decent results (and some shite ones as well to be fair) but we are not exactly a million miles fae where we really expected to be at the start of the season. Throw in the ramsdens cup and a scottish cup QF its been good season overall. How many seasons have been better in the last 15 or so years?

  9. Just watched those 2 Walker goals again, great stuff. The one against Dundee was exactly how I remembered it but thought that was a night game, obviously not then. The ones against the hoors was even better though, just listen to the roar when we score, it seems to stay at the same noise level for ages. Can still mind after a min or two of jumping up and down like an eejit thinking my heart was ready to pop there and then, could think of worse ways to go!
