  1. What a load of nonsense! Yes East Fife had a very good team for about 10 years over 70 years ago and have a few more cup wins but really! Everything goes in cycles but Raith have always been one of the bigger of the Fife clubs and until last season have had the hex over the men from Methil for around 30 years. And it's good night from me and A Guid New Year tae and an' a'.
  2. Useless fact, but my late wife's cousin played with the Tornadoes in the early 60's. Alas the year after Telstar became a hit. Brian Greig is his name. 81 in January. Spent first 9-10 years of life in Caithness with grandparents because of the war. Told you it was a useless fact.
  3. And folk wonder why a wee rumour at the Bevvy Park is a full blown fact at the fit o' Pratt Street! Gullan may well be recalled. Bairdy likely to be around I would think until his visa, papers etc for Oz are all in order. How long is a piece of string on that one?
  4. From the Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links to Lower Methil! It's downhill all the way.........and in more ways than one! Hope you have a grand weekend.
  5. On a more serious note. Was there recognition of the passing of an East Fife legend, George Dewar at the match. A very good striker in the 60's in a decent East Fife team captained by Jake Young at centre half.
  6. Anything but. You guys have a habit of going right to the end.
  7. Excellent post. Sorry your wee lass witnessed a defeat but I'm sure she'll enjoy many victories in the coming years. Thanks for your impartial comments regarding stewards etc. Much appreciated.
  8. Given our overload of injuries and red card suspensions from today's game, I'll happily settle for a draw right now. Most very unlikely we'll extend the clean sheet scenario to five on the bounce. It'll be a major headache to put any type of team together under the present circumstances.
  9. No doubt it would be rolled up and lying beside the bowler hats and other rolled up brollies. A sash or two hingin' on the back of the lobby cupboard door?
  10. In any other walk of life we would be in the court first thing Monday for this outrageous mugging. Apologies to Peterhead for the grand larceny. It must be a real sore one to stomach.
  11. And God bless his soul, one of them is deid! Bit like MacKinnon I hear you say.
  12. Now the deed is done and the word is out this thread will be in meltdown for some considerable time, methinks. 7replies as I typed above!
  13. It's all yours Bairns. On current form we'll no' be back for quite some time. Just dinnae get too comfortable with your pictures of Ray hingin' on the walls! Looks like Airdrie are coming up the garden path to chap on the door.
  14. We might not win the league and may well miss out again in the play offs but this man cares about his players and team. Particularly near the end of the interview his emotion shows. I'd imagine you guys would be desperate for someone with similar feelings if you're going to dump Ray the Snake.
  15. Raith 6 fouls. EF 17! How many bookings in the game for either team? Other stats just show the number of chances not taken by the Rovers but hey ho the team that's drawn more games than they've won think they're joint top!
  16. Stirling Albion . FFS man! Bottom of the lowest tier of the four leagues. The basement club. And papped out at home. Delicious.
  17. Is the black and gold stripey wallpaper aff the wa's? So very 1940's, early 50's. .Well past its sell by date for even being retro!
  18. Does that include the roasters that post on this forum?
  19. Interesting indeed. Ryan Christie straight red for outstretched studs up challenge on Livi player. Any different from Tidser brutally awful challenge? Not watching game. Going by match report.
  20. Full time does NOT guarantee success. Ayr Utd, Arbroath to take the last two seasons, despite Raith having a bigger budget than others in the league. Albeit we blew it big time in last game of season against Alloa to let Ayr up two years ago. Then MacKinnon decided talks with Dundee Utd were more important than paying attention to an all important play off game. Arbroath's were relentless and carved out results because they were a well managed team of part time journeymen. The clue to both these teams titles was the management of them.
  21. Ok it was only a point at home but it still feels like a win due to the manner of fightback and almost sealing the victory. Things have to be upbeat for us whilst in contrast Falkirk must have the feeling of a defeat and chance missed hanging around them. Still a long way to go but I'm sensing a coming together of a very decent team for this level. The last time I had that was the 94-95 season coming away from a 2-1 defeat at Dens in early December (despite cup glory in November). The rest is history.
