I agree it’s not comfortable but Cowdenbeath are the ones in real trouble.

Likeable wholehearted player who always gives 100% but not a lot of quality. Will run and tackle all day but won’t create a lot. Think that’s the best way to describe him.

Elgin in the first half looked as though they had indeed gone on their summer holidays. Second, worked a lot harder and probably deserved something from the game but never really got the break of the ball. Two pretty mediocre teams with Stenny being slightly less than us.
Have heard a lot of players being hyped up by various sides supporters over the years on this site and when I’ve seen them they have failed to live up to expectations. Stenny been bigging up O’Reilly of late and I have got to say I was very impressed. I’d be surprised if he isn’t plying his trade with a Championship or Premier club next season.0 -
Stenny played well last week by all accounts just didn’t get a result while we looked as though we were ready for our holidays!

As with most games in this league could go any way! Depends if we have decided that’s it for the season! Been decent at home recently so hoping we’re up for it. 1-0 Elgin

Seeing I have a bit of time on my hands thought I’d start a thread.
What are you thinking?
Can Elgin continue their decent form of late or will they slump back into their indifferent ways now that they are relatively safe in the League?Always a difficult venue for Elgin and the pitch will make it a battle which we are not usually great at. Hope 1-2 think 2-1.

Agree with the above. There should be no stand out team next year but we definitely need to strengthen, the nucleus is there but we need a bit more quality. Easier said than done as Elginer said.

Must admit I was fearing the worst at the beginning of the last 4 fixtures but we have played well in all 4 to only lose one. Hopefully we can keep that going and end the season a couple of places higher and end on a positive note, also garner extra prize money.

Really surprised at that decision. Think he will find a decent job pretty soon. Will see if the decision comes back to bite Edinburgh.

Investment. You used to attract a lot of good sponsorship and to a certain extent lived beyond your means. He seems to think because we give him a blue shirt he can play about at the back like Chelsea, if he moved the ball on faster he would not get clattered. Cost us two goals again today while we went from total control to wanting to hear the final whistle against 9 men. The points were important but we made it way too hard for ourselves.
He played like that when he was in a black and white shirt too!

Much needed win especially with us playing the top 4 in our next games, so possibly slim pickings there. We played well first half against as poor a Stirling performance as I can remember seeing and that was against 11. Could/Should have been 4-0 at HT. Thought it was a definite red card and good to see the ref didn’t bottle it. First period of the second half saw Stirling come into the game and I would not have been surprised if it went 2-2. Coincided with Cameron moving further forward, when I felt his ability to receive and keep possession of the ball was missed at the base of midfield. As the game wore on Elgin eventually gained control and could have scored 6-7 in the end. Good all round performance over all. I thought Anderson fitted in well and good to see Cameron and Cooper back and Spark getting game time. Pleasant surprise to see Weir in the dug out, even if it’s just a one off.

On the manager of the month i feel that Darryls 2 late goals put a slightly positive spin on poor performances. Albeit the Kelty game was a great performance. It is the constant changing of players positions that is very frustrating with Price. But i do agree with you he does probably have enough in the bank having slept on it.
Can’t back this up with statistics but since Gibson left and McKay came in we seem to have gone downhill so is he not as culpable as Price? You could be right about the end of the season though.

Where are you planning getting a new manager at this time of the season and where are we getting better quality players? I agree the team lacks quality but it’s more or less the same team who made play offs last season and who were on a fine run in January resulting in Price getting the manager of the month. It’s a league of fine margins. I personally think Price has enough credit in the bank but either way now is not the time for change.

No idea but suspect it is something to do with not prejudicing his trial, ie a heap of Elgin players getting suspended for betting while Hester is denying it.

Not till the Hester trial is finished which is unlikely to be this season.

Not all are starters for Elgin and they beefed up the squad in January partly with this possibility in mind.

Think we are relatively safe. Not much between the teams in the League, Kelty apart, so would expect all teams to take points off each other, us included. Cowdenbeath are the poorest team I’ve seen this season, although they are showing signs of improvement. We have got to factor in suspensions that are likely to be dished out for our players betting misdemeanours! I expect us to finish 7th or 8th, which I think will be about right, given what I’ve seen this season.

Saw on another forum, talk of Peterhead being interested in Jack Brown at Rothes. I would be disappointed if we were not also interested. He has always impressed me when I have seen him, including against Elgin. I have long thought now that the HL is no longer awash with money, as being an area we should be looking at, especially given our geography and difficulty in attracting top southern based players. I had hoped that with Steven McKay joining the club we would be able to use his knowledge and contacts to identify and attract more players from up here.
