That's a great signing. Mostly because I like his name and he's got a lot of experience.

Not even sure why they're even bothering holding league games this year tbh, be as well just handing us the trophy now.

Working on a centre half from down south
Daily record reporting a winger. Would take both quite happily as that's the two positions I feel we're still a bit short
Edit:
Aidan Smith reckons it's a winger too

Courier reporting we're hoping to make one more signing. It's all kicking off bois.
Love that interview with Sprangler. Certainly seems to have an understanding of what the Scottish game is and what the minimum requirements are in terms of effort.

All well and good saying they're free to go, but who's taking Crawford and Booth? Booth is a good player when he's fit, but he's not been fit for about 18 months now and Crawford is just dire and will be on a big wage.
McGowan feels like an unfortunate victim of circumstance. Versatility is useful but he probably doesn't offer enough anywhere to get in ahead of the other options.

They're surely confident he'll be granted the exemption, why else would they bring him over for a trial and go through all of this? Be a huge waste of time for everyone including Sprangler himself who's just spent months without a club

Sprangler deal agreed, just waiting on his work permit and SFA approval. Maclean also saying he's hoping for a busy day on Friday with 'a few irons in the fire' and that he's told 3 players they can go. Be interesting to see what comes of it all

Sold on Sprangler, hefty Liam Craig vibes off him.
Then what are we waiting for? 5 year deal immediately

Do Saintees have a ppv stream for this?
Sadly not with it being a Saturday 3pm kick off. Your name suggests international stream may be your requirement. If so, they do but you'd have to subscribe for Saints tv for a month

Can tell the big derby is coming up, 4 pages on the match thread already!

Dimitar Mitov
8 new signings starting and first starts league for 4 of them and we produce that level of organisation and energy. This team could definitely go places if that's their level and they get the chance to gel.

Bryson was a 13 wearer too. Quite rare for saints as a general rule though I think

Quite interesting seeing the names folk reckon have been told that are surplus to requirements and nobody has mentioned Ballantine. Only thing that apparently rules him out is that he can’t really be described as experienced
I've equated 'senior' which is the word Maclean used as experienced. Perhaps incorrectly, but has Ballantyne not started every game so far?

Can't see it being McGowan Kyle, although he's a defender he's better in midfield than most of our midfielders. That in itself tells a story.
I was thinking McGowan because I suspect he signed for us thinking it would give him a chance of getting into the Australia squad for the World Cup, along with so many other Scottish based players. We've signed an extra right back, loads of midfielders and Eric mentioned he thinks we might target another centre back on the last courier podcast. All areas of the pitch he covers. Maybe not necessarily one Maclean has said has no future, maybe one that we can get off the books who'd be happy to go if you get me.

Jay Turner-Cooke is available for Saturday so he's clearly signed now too. Guessing the media team haven't had the chance to record him bursting into the centenary suite and downing a pint yet, so will only be announced when that's done.
Telling senior players they're free to leave and them actually leaving are two completely different things. Who in their right mind is going to take Ali Crawford - pea hearted, couldn't get a game for his best pal towards the end of last season in the championship - and Callum Booth, who hasn't really been the same player since the cup final and has been injured for about 18 months since.Given we've signed so many midfielders, Crawford is definitely prime candidate to be one of those players. Booth, Considine or an outside chance it could be McGowan too. Nothing against any of those 3, I'm just looking at where there might be excess fat in the squad and they stand out as being players who could fit that profile.
Maybe some mutual terminations incoming on deadline day.

The decision to start trying to sign players in mid July and waiting for quality is really bearing fruit now lads
Dimitar Mitov
Dave Richards
Oludare Olufunwa
Sam McLelland
Luke Robinson
Matt Smith
Sven Sprangler
Jay Turner-CookeDara Costelloe
Luke Jephcott
A collection of football manager regens if ever I saw one. We are so doomed.

I'd rather be overseeing my own castration than attending this football match. If a forfeit results in a 3-0 defeat that would be a great result for us.

Let's hope the Austrian third tier is a good hunting ground

The lad we turned down from Everton came on as a late substitute for them in the premier league. Hopefully not a sign that Maclean has Davidson's eye for a player

Gallagher probably hasn't done himself many favours with his "sore neck".
Even Eric Nick had a wee dig on the podcast.
Booth is always heading to training on these new social media videos.
I know it's a content world and all that, but I can really do without these videos when we're getting battered every week.

Starting to worry we’re going to end up with same size of squad as last year but somehow have even less quality.
Same story as last year, after 4 or 5, end up with 8 with a few more to go. Last year was all expensive, experienced players with no resale value. This year it's essentially all punts, except Mitov.

So obvious this was coming given the size of the squad and the experience on the books, along with fees, paying off Davidson etc. chucking money at a team of grandads for a hopeless manager really coming home to roost.
