  1. QOS official site confirms signing of Mark Durnan. Link
  2. All for spending better. It's all about balance though. Agree a smaller number of better quality players is a better use of resource but we need to have at least some buffer in terms of numbers to cover the inevitable injuries (Smith?) and suspension (McKenna). Tricky balance.
  3. It depends on what you mean by push the boat out financially. The club has already done that by staying full time. We must work within budget now. If Alloa have a bigger budget (which I doubt) then good luck to them. If recent history teaches us in particular and Scottish football in general anything at all then spending money that isn't within a reasonable financial plan is the road to ruin.
  4. I suspect we will also need someone who can replace McKenna when he gets his inevitable suspension(s).
  5. I remain deeply disappointed by the path chosen by our misguided directors. Never my intention to boycott the club. Too important to me and a big part of my life for 45 years.
  6. I thought that from elsewhere on this site and likewise Brechin voted no I think. For all their faults at least our BOD had the balls to try to explain their vote. Seems others might be hiding and hoping the flak will disappear.
  7. I saw that but I think it's incorrect. Other name I'd heard was East Stirlingshire but can't seem to find a definitive list anywhere.
  8. Does anyone know for sure which other teams made up the infamous five who voted yes to Newco in SFL1?
  9. Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me. QOS are my team, always have been always will be. I feel hugely let down by our current board and am deeply embarrassed by the voting stance taken. I've always been proud to let people know that I support QOS. Sadly I don't feel that pride today.
  10. I'd imagine there will be some. FWIW it sickens me that we have voted in this way but I will continue to support my club. It's a lifelong thing for me and there is no way the mistake we have made as a club today will change that. An embarrassing day for the club though.
  11. Anyway, enough of all this Newco shite. Any further word on how things are at QOS. Training going well, any update on trialists, new signings?
  12. With or without Holmer the "floating fan" will be attracted by success on the pitch. It is of course a matter for debate if the likelihood of success is increased or decreased should he sign. If we are doing well or badly next season then the results will dictate fan numbers rather than the presence or otherwise of ex-players.
  13. To stay single figures. Have just gone up to 9 (8.5). Lowest I've ever been is 8.
  14. How disappointing. I was hoping for another shitting in shoe story involving a classy Dumfries boy.
  15. For handicapping the worst a score will count is a net double bogey. I play off 8 and yesterday managed to run up a 9 on the par 4 5th hole which is stroke index 7. For handicap calculation this will count as a 7. If it had been at hole where I don't have a stroke it would have counted a 6 for handicap calculations.
  16. Absolutely stunning shot at the 16th. Tiger looked absolutely in control of his game for the first time in ages. Interesting to note that Fowler who was playing with TW had an absolute meltdown and shot 84 Ouch.
  17. Has he been freed? Still appears on the updated official site list of players.
  18. Swing more slowly is a good start. It might be due to grip or alignment but poor tempo is the cause of many faults. The late Adam Hunter said that in all his years as a golf coach he had never had to ask a male golfer to speed up his swing.
