  1. Waited years for McGinty to be dropped for his charity defending but it rarely happened. This season he has actually looked ok and would have let him away with the odd error. Brown has certainly been consistent when it comes to wielding the axe.

Perhaps once he has his own team it might be a good idea but right now we need to drop excessive housekeeping rules and just get over the line. The one crumb of comfort for the happy clappers is that many thought the same against Airdrie and Partick yet we somehow got results. Perhaps he has watched Caley and thought a kicking match is the best chance of a result

If we're not taking points from the teams in the bottom half of the league this month, then there's slim chance we're taking them from teams in the top half next month.

The form of the top teams is equal to the teams at the bottom currently. Should that stay the same then each game should be viewed as a realistic way to take points

    Polite reminder

I'm more interested to see how well our manager keeps the heid. Quite early in his career and been put in a difficult position despite getting results that would probably be enough in any other league. Quick to wield the axe if you have a bad performance and gets involved from the touchline like he's still on the pitch. ICT seemingly have all sorts of issues off the field so a draw minimum is needed today. Will be a tough few weeks ahead and lets hope he can find a settled team

What are the licensing laws within football stadiums like?
You can’t drink and watch football, even in hospitality, you can drink in the suite during the game but not in the box/seat.

For instance, would the club be able to sell beer straight after the final whistle from the hospitality suite for people to drink on the north terrace, hospitality grounds to be able to take pressure off the hub and maybe get more people to buy drinks?

Doubt they would be allowed outside of the building with a drink. Perhaps something similar to the previous members scheme could be set up that ran before the hub opened

@AyrExile with shades of Stephen Kerr.

Racist dog whistle pish of the first degree.

Racism being brought into the equation now when asking whether public servants are doing the right thing or not. Surely there can't be a bigger story here and it can be all cleared up with the official documents. You must remember a previous racist scandal involving the nursery close to home

This is along the lines of the reply that I was going to post but couldn't be bothered to.

I'm sure @AyrExile is proud of his contribution that infers that Scotland is inadequate or not worthy of offering compassion

Advisors recommended an amount to contribute and the FM chose to ignore this. As this is taxpayers cash is there a good reason to select a different figure? This happened shortly before his relatives were granted a pass out. Even if nothing dodgy has happened it does look rather wrong. I'm sure this can be cleared up early next week with the official paperwork. Happy to admit Humza did good when this happens

Plus, even if he doesn’t want to stay - he is here for as long as the current starting keeper so no idea how that’s even relevant to anything!

Is there not a bit of reading between the lines required if true. His time at Ayr is up and he needs to find a new club. In the meantime whilst he keeps being paid then can do a job if and when needed. Would be sorry to see him go as had some good games for us

Brown's not wrong with what he says

If you think away back to his first game away to QP, that's probably the last league game where we've lost a league goal which hasn't been through an error...

Dundee United at home Albinson gifted both goals.

Airdrie we got skinned in RB area for first goal and then the second one Mutch could have probably done better.

Then Raith Syla gives the ball away in midfield for both goals.

Partick you had the goalie error at the first, Adeloye's goal i'm not sure if you could do much with tbf as the cross was a peach then you had the calamity own goal for the 3rd.

    Then Saturday there at Dunfermline

Safe to say we're certainly getting punished just now for every mistake we make

For balance how many goals have we scored through good fortune or have they all been all our own well worked efforts? Our squad is imbalanced and we just need to pick up enough points to see us over the line. I expect some games to be horrific viewing and the next week decent with little reason as to why. Analysis doesn't always help at the minute.

    Not really though.

Forrest was a ridiculous talent at 16. I’m convinced we won’t produce a player that good at that age again. It was utterly bizarre that some fans didn’t appreciate him until his last season.

McCowan was nowhere to be seen at 19. In fact he was in his early 20s when he was actually used and made a name for himself. Crawford as well was totally lost at that age and didn’t really step up until his early 20s plus he has the caveat of playing at a lower level.

Fans are more critical of a clubs young players because they’d rather the club went and spent money on someone rather than actually try and work with their own guys. Forrest and Crawford were hounded for years at Ayr and McKenzie and Bryden are getting the same treatment.

Whilst Forrest had undoubted ability he was very lightweight and got pushed out of games easily. He also had continual injury problems until a certain age which restricted him kicking on. Fairly sure Crawford was outstanding for a season and might have been Brydens age at the time, After coming back from trials he was poor for a long while before upping his game again.

Whilst Crawford,  Forrest and McCowan had mixed spells i always thought they had the potential to be good. Don't currently see that with Bryden and McKenzie at all. Possibly Bryden could kick on to be a decent finisher if he dropped down a level, got a run of games and built up some confidence

  10. Off all the nonsense he has voted for over the years yet Blackford seems to have gone rogue. Happy to stand by them wrecking a nations economy with zero workings but disowns them once they start targetting his lunch deall

  11. The points we have picked up recently should have seen us almost safe. Whilst we have avoided bottom place now it looks like 9th is still up for grabs. Another 6 points might do us if we draw 6 times with teams around us instead of two random. As we have played the top three it would help if they now got back into gear and started beating all the teams around us.

Last night reminded me a bit of the first Qp game earlier in the season. Lets hope Willoughby kicks on from some cracking finishing and maintains this type of form, something that Rose didn't do.

  12. The stage is set for the January signings to step up and make their mark,. Been a lot of comments recently about the bottom places in the league being occupied by the team who get a run of injuries.

I like the idea of a manager rolling heads when mistakes are made but Brown may wish to cool it until we have decent options in all areas. This could be a long night with Chalmers and Dowds contributions not there to bail those out covering gaps

I think that’s the case for most teams. You lose your best two players and you’re going to plummet.

Not always as better balanced squads have others that can step up and soften the blow. Most other teams also won’t be in a relegation battle with half the league who seem to have found form you’d expect from the top 4

Obviously hoping it’s part of a master plan and we look stupid but there is nothing about that side attacking wise.

The January additions are just looking weird at this stage too if one is a fourth choice CB and the others can’t get a game in front of Bryden or McKenzie. We needed players to come in and be immediate upgrades.

Fans from several clubs were raving about Sanders when he joined up. Surprised he hasn't forced his way into some sort of game time yet. Can only think the last two games where competing well is probably viewed like a win allows some to keep the jersey. If that's the case it won't be long until we get a reminder

Have we deleted that twitter post as that team is a joke?

I’m not sure dropping one of the only two players that can do the scoring goals thing is going to help us score any goals.

That is literally just a team of runners and Jamie Murphy. A horrid line up.

I'm all for shaking things up and not being afraid to ditch big names but that looks like a weak selection. Until we can add to the squad Chalmers is definitely needed to create some chances. We have done well against Airdrie in previous games by taking the game to them. Hopefully Brown knows better but he might end up having to learn the hard way

    Yeah, I think so…

I’m not overly sure what that actually means though, either side can trigger it? Or both sides have to agree but the contract details are already in place.

I think you need to take into account how much time he has actually had in full time football to improve though. Especially when we are plucking guys from down south. IMO if there is some raw ability there it might be worthwhile persevering to a greater extent.

If he were the same age as Ahui i might agree with you. His reputation seems to have grown through being continually ignored despite the team not playing well. He seems viewed as a potential solution to our problems but the question never gets answered. Not against keeping him for a bit but he needs to step up and force game time fairly quickly

I think Amartey was injured for both of White’s games in charge, and assuming has been struggling under Brown so far.

There is definitely something there with Amartey, he is also raw in places but is only 24 so I would quite happily loan him out to league one (if we aren’t going to play him) and give him some time to get regular game time up here and get up to speed.

I didn’t realise he was 24 and that reduces some of the benefit of the doubt I had given him.  Whilst he is a very quick player and has some great tricks I’m unsure if he’s at the level to impact consistently and hold down a place.

It’s unusual for a new manager to lose two of his first three games and still instil an air of positivity and make you feel like everything will be okay but that’s what Brown has done. We’re playing with a far higher intensity than we ever did under Bullen and look stronger as a unit when defending. There’s issues that need to be looked at for next season but I have a lot more faith that we can stay up with the new coaching team.

The defending and organisation have definitely stepped up a level. Unsure though whether this will come at the expense of our attacking ability. Need to see us against some of the teams around our level to find out. Hopefully the days of Morton pushing us around to victory will be much less

    All week at work it’s been;

”Cricket score”, ”5-0”, ”4-0” or simply, “Pumped”.

My stock response has been, “2-1 Ayr!”

The few Celtic fans have been following Ayr on social media and have been saying, “Scott Brown will beat them!”

I’ve got Sean McGinty anytime and Ayr win at 300/1.

It really is a horrible place to go, but would not miss it. IF we got a result and I wasn’t there I’d never forgive myself.

If OG's count the McGinty bet is a good one
