  1. Born and raised in the Tory heartlands of West Pilton.
  2. Yep. If being greedy I'd have preferred 3 years, but this gets us at least another year out of him and hopefully some cash. Considering we'd all resigned ourselves to him leaving next week it's a huge result.
  3. An enjoyable 4-0 Hearts romp in the capital sunshine. Tagawa, Vargas, Shankland and McKay.
  4. Are we talking about the incident with the pushing and shoving on the goal line at the corner? That was Boyce was it not?
  5. Is this not part of the problem though? It's never been something where he could use the folly of youth as a defence. He was in his 40's at the time. Someone who speaks like that at that age generally just tends to be a fanny.
  6. No chance. He's absolutely meant it, you can tell by his body position, he immediately tries to hook it back. He's scored far more outrageous goals this season, it was 100% meant. Overall an enjoyable game. We defended like absolute diddies at both goals so we didn't deserve to win, but we made a few good chances and scored 2 good goals. Considering the lineup we had I'm pretty pleased with that.
  7. I'd like to see us finish the season strongly, but not overly concerned either way. Wish for tonight is to see Gordon get more game time and Shankland to get his 30th club goal of the season. Would be nice to see Boyce back involved as well, there's a chance apparently.
  8. I'm a Hearts fan. But my point is yes he's had big roles, but since the controversy he's not done anything in Scotland to deserve a jump from the sack at Ross County to running Hibs football department. If he was something special I'd understand the gamble more. As it stands he's not and it's a needlessly divisive appointment.
  9. Genuinely bizarre appointment. After the disaster of Montgomery, to go and make an appointment that would be as divisive as that on the same day as NM's sacking just smacks of people running the club that can't read the room. Outside of him being an abhorrent human being, he's not done anything to deserve the job of running the football side of a club the size of Hibs. Certainly not done anything that makes him a standout and worth the blowback the appointment would cause.
  10. Not actually seen it back but sometimes you can tell from the players reaction and Kingsley was adamant it wasn't.
  11. Dundee were poor but I thought we were really good. Kind of game it's easy to coast but we were well focused, created chances and dictated the play. Good goals from our point of view, the 2nd especially was excellent from Mckay, but we defended pretty solidly too. Wee James Wilson looked the part with his appearance, had a food effort, worked hard, good touch and put himself about.
  12. Naismith saying Gordon will start and Boyce is pushing to be involved.
  13. Ah I see what you mean. I think though, given we'll not be seeded, the chances of winning the PO are slim anyway, so would more than likely be the same amount with the ECL. And yeah, on paper it should be more competitive, but as it's projected now you could end up with a group including Napoli, Betis and Hoffenheim in the Conference so there's a high chance of a few scuddings in there too. I'd be keen to go into the EL, guarantee of more cash and hope for a kind draw.
  14. I think Atalanta beating Leverkusen is just, if not more, unlikely tbh.
  15. Youd play the same amount of home games. 8 in the EL, 6 in the Conference league group stage, plus the 2 PO games beforehand. You'd also get 2 games against teams in our pot so while we'd take some doings we'd have a chance of some wins as well and it's more prize money. However, that permutation is pretty unlikely to happen.
  16. I think we'll be pretty well up for this, we don't want the season to peter out and I think we'll aim for 70 points even if it'll be difficult. I do think we'll make a couple of changes though but nothing mental. Would like to see Gordon get a run between now and the end of the season and give Tagawa a start with Shankland.
  17. Can't think of a lot else out there tbh. Though for the sake of being different. McLaughlin Brandon McGowan Souttar McGhee Smith Holt Halliday Morrison Watt Nicholson
  18. Thought we were well the better team first half hour and it was a lesson in taking your chances. After that though we were well beaten and Celtic played well. Not exactly a disaster.
  19. First time Dalkeith has been called civilised.
