  1. Ask the club, it’s unfair of me to list applications and then they don’t get nominated to the AGM At present only one club will be nominated for the AGM Some are awaiting the first visit Some require a second visit after ground improvements have been made and some have been paused. Around end of May I’ll be doing the final visits so the league can announce it then. But we do cover the whole of the West of Scotland and teams won’t be rejected on location or travel distance. Wick Academy were happy to include the Tayside teams into the Highland setup which might include midweek games. Refs travel from Glasgow to the South of Scotland games every week.
  2. I’ve never spoken to that journalist and it’s up to the clubs to declare if they’ve applied as they might not be accepted for a whole host of reasons. The board will announce the clubs that have passed all the checks and put forward to the AGM when they are ready to do so
  3. Clubs/members could just vote not to allow new teams in this season.
  4. The lights go were they spread the best light
  5. On the criteria issue we’ve been looking at it being at different levels for different tiers ie tier 10 shouldn’t have the same criteria as tier 6, but they’d still need to be fan friendly, nothing will be changing on this soon but it’s something to look into in the future another idea is a non-criteria division below the “entry criteria” divisions that accepts teams but no promotion is available until the home ground (not shared ground) meets the criteria and they win the division but.... the pyramids weren’t built in a day
  6. Clubs were consulted at the beginning of the season and they were offered to continue or withdraw. There would need to be 32 clubs agreeing to an SGM to then hold a vote on the matter, the SGM has a 2 week notice period. So chances are best to wait to the 3rd April to see what happens.
  7. Have you consulted the majority? Clubs at the beginning of the season knew this could happen, the league can’t just declare it null and void because some can’t be bothered. they’ve provided a logical plan based on the current, very fluid, situation and minimal information
  8. The league will always be open to clubs that fit a criteria. Which in the future might be less the further down the tiers you go. Ie tier 10 shouldn’t have the same criteria as tier 6. I imagine over the next 2/3 years the league will be very fluid as it’s not just the old league with a new name and the team same happy to try things out. There’s lots of plans for the future but they need to go in sequence and sorting this season is the priority for now. One thing we are keeping an eye on is the amount of Amateur teams looking to join, at some point a discussion will have to happen to make sure cannibalisation of other leagues/associations isn’t happening and what’s best for the sport, but that’ll take a different path to what’s gone before, and it’ll be awhile away.
  9. Those cups are accessed via the South Counties FA and EOS FA, at the moment WOS clubs aren’t part of the WOS FA, Ayrshire FA, Glasgow FA or Stirling FA etc Clubs would need to join at SFA Regional FA and then put a cup together, for next season the West of Scotland League Cup will be played as well, this can’t have an SC Cup as it’ll have licensed clubs in it, so we are looking at getting an unlicensed cup setup but one step at a time at the moment
  10. We do have a read it every now and then and there’s some decent points and ideas, however at the moment the situation is very fluid and we’ve a few moving parts and multiple parties to consider. Once the WOS and EOS have had a conversation this weekend there should be the bones of a plan to move forward with.
  11. Some clubs may able to both EOS and WOS or even decline so I’d imagine it would put to members prior to the AGM
  12. There’s more to life than West Lothian, which at present doesn’t represent half of the interested clubs, it’ll be a very much West league if it starts
