  1. I can’t fathom how Mcginn passed any of the arduous fitness tests at the start of the season. He looks like Cammy Bell when we signed him.
  2. Pressure really ramping up now. 13 without a clean sheet in competitive games I believe? Really not sure if Mcglynn and the current players have it in them to do enough in the first quarter to save Mcglynn.
  3. Carbon copy of a lot of the goals Airdrie scored in the playoff. Players with the ability to bypass our midfield and seems we haven't learned. Hopefully Spencer is enough to sort that out.
  4. Is it Peter Della Penna? May be wrong but think he's American and was defo doing some commentary earlier in the tournament. He's a muppet, remember a huge twitter rant he did about how England complaining about mankads could be attributed back to their colonial past
  5. There's been more games in the last year or so where I have heard a Norrie chant than I haven't (especially away). Isn't just 13 year olds either. Tragic stuff
  6. I think the frustration comes from the fact we’ve persisted with McKay for 2 seasons now and he’s played more than enough games at CB and now RB for us to know when push comes to shove he’s nowhere near good enough. I’m disappointed he’s as close to the first team as he currently is - that’s again on Mcglynn.
  7. Lang has been quality and was his only error tonight. If only he didn’t have to play alongside a complete diddy.
  8. Think he’s banking on the rest of the league being pish and scuffing through (like he did with Raith v us). We certainly won’t be pulling a Dunfermline.
  9. Really really poor performance overall and nowhere near the standards a few of these players should be aiming for. With what was riding on it (at least 60k plus) another abject failure given how poor DU were. Where to start? The goal I guess. Lang is a very good defender and he’s made a slight mistake there. Long slipped so that didn’t help. 3 goals conceded in 3 games (out of our 4 conceded overall) that are consequences of our “playing style “ - completely pathetic and the fault lies with Mcglynn. Agyeman was atrocious and cemented my reasoning for believing he’s maybe not a good purchase at all. These are the only sort of games this season he may be effective - space in behind and time running onto the ball. He must’ve given it away 10 out of 10 times Morrison a shadow of himself. He seems to have gone from selfish (sometimes rightly so) to selfless. Hit the byline and ineffective cross, rinse and repeat. That won’t do for someone who I’ve regarded as very influential for us for a while now. Yeats had a cracking game and showed some of our others up. Lawal dropped a 1/10 before being rightfully subbed off. Oliver 3/10 Mciver 6/10 because he fed off scraps like we all thought he might when we persisted with 1 up top. Not good enough, again In isolation you could maybe take some positives but it just looked far too much like performances of last year that were found to be nowhere near good enough. Saturday now a dead rubber and extreme pressure placed on the first league games - anything like tonight and Mcglynn won’t be here long.
  10. Hmmmm, that sounds a tad closed shop to me. It takes tournaments like these for these nations to ever play anyone better - friendlies are uncommon. Lets not forget Jersey were very much in the fight v us, as were Italy v Ireland in game 1 - it hasn't all been one way traffic.
  11. Well obviously, not sure what that has to do with the allocation of teams in this qualifying tournament though!
  12. I'm not sure what you want the ICC to do? Not like there's a host of European nations better at cricket than what we're playing. The T20 has slots to fill and this has been a great fun way of doing it.
  13. How bad is the Iplayer coverage? Even when it isn't stuttering the production is awful, constantly missing balls due to graphics overlaying and cameramen not following the ball. They have enough resources there as sometimes the cut is to yet another camera angle we haven't seen yet! A bunch of uni students could do better. Commentators fairly terrible too, always getting the names of on strike batters wrong because the graphic is behind. Most obvious was yesterday when they somehow got mixed up between Hairs and Mcmullen despite one weighing about 7 stone more than the other.
  14. I don’t like to single out posts that are well meaning but this is just utter utter drivel. Agyeman does not go down easily. Watch his goal or 2 or 3 other highlights on the FTV package. If you were there on Saturday it’s actually ridiculous how little he does go down and will frustrate our support this season as he often gets fouled 2 or 3 times before he does go down.
  15. Overall obviously happier of the 2 sets of fans, encouraging stuff and felt Thistle treated it as more of a pre season friendly which probably showed. A word for some of the antics at the end outside the away stand. Some strange strange weirdos who seem to follow us away from home looking for fights. And fair play to a Partick (maybe “ultra”?) who told some of our freaks to calm down given a lot of their lads were 13 years old - seemed to diffuse the situation. Embarrassing.
  16. Walked out of there pretty heartened, although not sure I’d have said that if we lost the shootout! First 30 mins was nothing short of excellent, could have been 2 or even 3 nil up. Mcginn and spencer with the freedom of firhill to spray it to whoever they fancied. Donaldson and Lang also using it pretty well from the back. Good goal, but then we reverted to type a bit and they had the last of the ten mins where they could’ve equalised with a back post header and some pressure. Agyeman (for what is going to be a common theme) excited and then mostly frustrated. He also struggled defensively positioning wise which isn’t ideal when young Finn needs help. Second half less of the ball, and when we had it thought we needed to use it better. Maciver was doing well with any scraps fed to him - he has the Oliver intelligence but better in the air. I thought we were looking fairly calm in the 5 mins prior to the Long calamity. Awful pass when he had options to his right or a punt. He was then badly out of position from the resulting free kick. After that we were somehow the better team for 5 mins and Agyeman with a goal of the season contender already. He’ll really frustrate imo but in the right games and circumstances let’s hope he can make the difference. After that we defended the box well - Lang is a proper defender, really really like the look of him. Unfortunate goal to lose, no one was defending the edge of the box - maybe meant to be Lawal’s job from what I could see - but we dug deep and showed some balls in the pens, and the keeper slightly redeemed himself.
  17. Will be amazed if we don’t start with Mcginn and spencer both playing the same role today. Agreed neither cover the yards to make it work as a duo though
  18. I do like what I’ve seen of smith in interviews, but would he take the job without Mcglynn? They’ve been a partnership for a while, not sure he would want it on his own.
  19. It’s funny how games are seen by fans. This time last year we’d have all been happy enough with the showing and character, taken the 3 points that sets us up very well in the group. Now we’re all pretty bemused with the same sort of performance that was nowhere near good enough last season when the important matches came around. I don’t know which one will prove to be correct. Let’s hope it’s Mcglynn
  20. Going by the pre season highlights the new main commentator is far better and just more professional than previous efforts. As long as my money isn't going into Dunfermline FC I'm happy with the change
  21. Up until this statement I thought I knew, now not so much. Large payoffs for managers basically every season, saddled with Holt 3 year contracts only just running out, no cup run until last year for ages, sponsorship non existent. All those have been at least partially corrected (add in a large “loan” (donation) by the snp), and yet the hole is the same? The squad is small this year. I honestly don’t claim to know where the money is going anymore
  22. Another fitness exercise really, although disappointed with the 2 goals conceded. What should be focused on is the group now blown wide open with results today (2 results which would’ve had this place in absolute meltdown btw). Great chance to progress again. Away at Partick will be key if we can do the business on Tuesday
  23. Incredible amount of bites for the most basic of fishing trips
  24. We defo had a blow up around the ayr game but we actually won 3 out of 5 before the playoffs and only 1 loss out of 8..:it wasn’t a capitulation ala M&M. But who cares really - we completely failed thereafter and can see no repeat this year
