  1. Grant I think was wanted but I presume he has other plans (Celtic backroom). Rice applied I believe but we were turned down permission to interview him by Hamilton. We can’t really do much there. The 130 names would include teenagers from the likes of India, Australia and Brazil with some champ manager experience. Our board are incompetent but come on, they’re not throwing away cv’s of people who are at least semi decent. Of course Sheerin would be underwhelming but we have to speak rationally when considering who we could actually appoint
  2. You will get a lot of upset people at this appointment (if it happens). You could then ask them who they’d rather have. They’ll say either “it’s not for me to choose” or a bunch of names that didn’t apply. The alternatives are literally Kettlewell or McIntyre. It’s a rotten bunch, we have to pick someone
  3. Let’s see how they do next season. Aberdeen and their fans wanted “change” from mcinnes, at whatever cost. There was no way Sheerin was ever getting the gig.
  4. I also have absolutely zero pre conceived notion of him. Will give him every chance to bed in and hope he does well. Also going to take any opinions of him from Aberdeen fans with a heavy pinch of salt. For me, outside of the ugly sisters, the most entitled fanbase in the country. Mcinness and staff delivered 2nd and 3rd place galore, as well as cup finals and semis galore. Let’s not forget the years before that they were directly fighting us for relegation. This season seemed to go a bit stale but for me he was verging on manager of the decade. How much hand Sheerin had in this I don’t know, but I don’t think I’d hate this appointment
  5. With Morton staying up, look at the league next year...with no offense to other teams (many of which we were genuinely miles worse than this season), what a chance it’ll be to get out of the shitshow. Use our vastly superior playing budget in any sort of sensible way, and only Queens Park should be any sort of competition. That won’t happen of course, but in an alternate universe they might have a nice time next season.
  6. Anyone know what Edinburgh city’s budget is? Would take Naysmith at Falkirk but waiting to be told they had by far the 2nd biggest budget in the league and he’s under achieved or something.
  7. Well in lads. A sign of the times where I hope like absolute f**k I’m sinking a few before watching the game at the rock next season.
  8. This is it for me too, which is why I stay relatively quiet on bashing the board. A fair few of the decisions they’ve made in recent history I’ve backed (at least initially). Apart from binning the academy - disastrous. Houston I felt had lost the dressing room, accelerated by his announcement he was leaving at end of season - I backed him to go. Backed Hartley’s appointment, and he gave us the best performances we’ve seen since housty’s departure - 6-1 v Dundee United etc. Okay, the “Brentford model” was a joke but how much say did he have. I backed his sacking as again he was culpable for a lot of the dross signed, given he was manager. I remember getting McKinnon and thinking wow we’ve pulled one out there, as Morton had won 4/5 in the league and the rest of the shortlist was the real dross - jim McIntyre, coyle etc. He took us down then struggled fairly badly for a couple of months in league 1 - fair enough, get rid, and get in someone who could rejuvenate the fans as the club was at an all time low - coaches M&M, maybe. 100% they should’ve been gone quicker when it was clear to anyone who knows football that they were so so so so out of their depth. In saying that, it really is difficult in a board position to sack managers who are top of the table. It shouldn’t be the way that it is if it was clear to all what was coming but it is.
  9. Disagree, I want the CCFC machine gun of truth bullets each one better than the last ITK style post!
  10. Does anyone expect it not to be true? It’s exactly the sort of thing the current version of our club does. Before anyone says “oooo it’s only a tenner”, it’s the principle. Paying for a trial is not the done thing.
  11. Couldn’t care less if the club has “thrown him to the wolves” by announcing it, would be the first thing they’ve done for fans in years
  12. I see McCann has knocked us back. What happened to rigorous interview process with applicants only? We went down the approach a manager who never actually applied route with Hartley
  13. Stubbs to Queens Park? Get Housty back and pay him whatever he wants. I want to see him terrorise the scouse dweeb all over again
  14. I’m no pressley lover but it’s the sort of role more suited to him imo. All players speak highly of him on a personal level
  15. He was hounded out of Macclesfield and Southend and their fans think he’s a joke. His interviews were full of riddles (worse than holt). In other news, at least Pressley has got himself another gig somewhere
  16. Any coach who can take a player and make them 0.1% better than what they currently are will be streets ahead of what we’ve had for 2 years plus tbf
  17. I don’t disagree with any of them going but why are these decisions being made (and I presume decisions being made on new contracts for those staying) being made without a new manager in first? This needs asked at the “Q and A”
  18. I would say it depends on your definition of “sleeping giant”. I agree we are a yo yo prem/champ club (based on a number of factors - income generated by support size, history, facilities etc etc). Trouble is we haven’t hit the good bit of the “yo” in 10+ years and are now mid/lower table league 1. We are so so far away from being this “yo yo” club that you could maybe make a case we are a sleeping giant? If a “giant” can be classed as a yo-yo champ/prem club
  19. Nothing they could say would be enough. Would rather have silence and actions than words and inaction. I’m sure the “moving on” list is being drawn and up and is long
  20. As another poster said I never really venture beyond falkirk or falkirk match threads. Might bloody have to now, cya later
  21. Look at the reaction to the goals last night on the airdrie “goals” cam. Not one single f**k given by anyone but Mutch. He was raging Tbf, everyone else had clearly clearly completely chucked it. Goodbye the lot of them
