  1. Didn't make the match, but heard from several who were (on both sides) that Dundee players were putting in dangerous and reckless tackles. If Magennis ends up missing games as a result of one of those tackles I can imagine the Saints management will be raging. Heard the ref had no control over the game, and let far too much go - even for a friendly.
  2. Very surprised at that. Thought he had potential, but clearly current management team don't think so.
  3. Height 1.7m! I know strikers (and even striker strikers) don't need to be tall to be effective, but that's definitely on the short side!
  4. Morgan was absolutely super last season. Even when most of the team were having stinkers, he was our only ray of light (well, maybe Mallan, but Morgan shone brighter). After the transformation of the team in January he got even better. And he was a big part of what made us such a joy to watch in the last few months. Hope this is just agent talk, as would be gutted to lose him!
  5. Genuinely surprised if Reilly is as bad as Pars fans are making him out to be that Ross has seemed so keen to get him. Based on his January business he's looked pretty shrewd in transfer dealings, and given how early this still is, it's hardly a knee-jerk desperation signing. I'm therefore more than happy to give Ross the benefit of the doubt and believe he knows how he can Make Reilly Great Again :-)!
  6. Great news on Stelios! Has cheered me up after the depressing news that a bunch of terrorist-loving Rangers fans now hold the key to power in the UK.
  7. Will be more than a tad disappointed if Stelios doesn't sign :-(
  8. Good god!!! Wow! The originality of that reply is off the scale! Surely nobody could have predicted that post!
  9. Two things on this... 1. Reckon whatever way this ends up, Loy will not be at Saints next year. 2. If Ross stays will virginton be able to handle two such humiliating setbacks over such a short period of time? Only just looked at this thread, and started at Page 32. No idea what was happening earlier, but VT's posts look pretty much identical to those for all but the last few weeks of the Saints relegation thread. Will the poor moron never learn.
  10. You'd be amazed what people believe these days... #MakeAmericaGreatAgain #TakeBackControl #LetsGive350mToNHS
  11. Yip, I said in the post you quoted that Hibs don't go on, Rangers don't either. Whilst not a justification, the reason Hibs went on was to celebrate their win. Why did Rangers fans come on?
  12. Pitch invasions are, sadly, things to be avoided. Did it myself a few times years ago when Saints won promotion. It was brilliant, and as far as I can remember there was never any violence. In theory, pitch invasions should be fine, but the problem is usually not with the winners, but when the losers decide they don't like what they're seeing. If it's a league winning thing, it's usually fine, as the opposition are rarely in contention. In cup games though, especially when last minute winners happen, you have one elated group and one completely deflated group. Bottom line is that both sets of fans are to blame. Hibs don't come on to the pitch, neither do Rangers. But Hibs DID come on to the pitch to celebrate their win. Why did Rangers come on to the pitch - and don't say to defend their players.
  13. I'm pretty sure that Police, Army, Fire etc are not subject to the same hours directives as the rest of the population because their jobs can involve unpredictable circumstances and ones which could cause serious issues if they had to clock off when their shift was over. "Sorry guv, I know the fire is still raging, but we've all done our 8 hours and are heading to the pub. I'm sure the next shift will manage on their own." You really so seem very keen to side with Rangers on this issue.
  14. Maybe they believed it because it looks like the same style of language as the official Rangers statement :-)!!!
  15. Hibs fans absolutely came on to celebrate a win. And a few hundred crossed the half way line and did GIRUY to the Rangers fans. If you seriously are saying that the Rangers fans came on to the pitch to protect the Rangers players then the blue tint in your specs has made them completely opaque.
  16. Good god that's awful. One Hibs fan goes down and in seconds he's being kicked by 6-7 blokes. Strange thing is, this must have been filmed by a Rangers fan. Why post it to YouTube when it makes your own fans look so bad.
  17. Good point. Hibs fans came on to celebrate a win. What possible reasons did Rangers fans have to come on - other than that they were pissed off at losing a late goal (who wouldn't be) - but then saw a chance to vent some of their frustration by boxing a few opposition fans who were winding them up. I'd be surprised if there's any footage of Hibs fans actually getting in to the Rangers areas and attacking them.
  18. I can't help thinking Rangers are really going to regret that statement. Just watched a special short piece on the 'violence' on Sky, and all they had was some guy pushing the Rangers goalie, Not that that is acceptable, but to say 6 players and officials were attacked, and some needed medical attention is - based on the evidence we've seen so far - an attempt to smear the fans of another club. To add in the bit about praising their own fans when they too invaded the pitch is just bizarre. Not to mention them saying they did not collect their runners up medals for safety reasons! I think the statement came out about 15 minutes after the final whistle. They should have waited for a bit before commenting - and also got an adult to write it.
  19. Is it not based on a percentage of the points you gained the previous season, or is that SPL only?
  20. You're the only person, except Davie Provan, who thinks this. Not a chance the first one was a red, nor was the challenge on the goalkeeper - though the keeper did do his utmost to feign injury to try to get him sent off. His challenge on the keeper wasn't as bad as the one where Marshall was taken out by an Irish player - the same one I think who took a clear dive to get a freekick and Robertson booked. Long also tried to get Hanley to react when he raked his boot down Hanley's Achilles. I'm just not buying this 'two teams out to make the game physical' line I've seen trotted out. Scotland played all the football, Ireland tried to kick us off the park.
  21. I think a lot of Celtic fans find the lack of competition domestically tedious too - that's why their average home league attendance last year dropped to about 55,000.
  22. Was pretty sure I read this around about the time the story broke. I get most of my sports news on the Sporting Life site... and of course, Pie and Bovril
