Broomhill Ultra

I seem to have lost confidence in my 2 handed backhand so I now mostly slice when attacking or do a defensive push shot which is a bit floaty against better players. These are not technical terms . Definitely need to work on backhand all round. Quite a few ex-footballers play in our leagues.

It’s a great setup, We’re going to get a second successive promotion from 7 to 6 this season. I also got a game in Div 4 which was a wee confidence booster. Injuries starting to creep in a bit though!

I started playing again during Covid for the first time since before Scotland were last at a World Cup. Forgot what a brilliant game it is and now playing club league matches, great fun. Anybody else play a bit?

Some good signings in areas we needed it and getting Low signed up is brilliant. Can’t be considered favourites though when our record against some of the top teams was so poor. Hardly a hot take but a good start in this league is crucial

I’ve got 3 tickets for Georgia and can’t go now. 2 adults (£30) one U16 (£10). West Stand, be happy with £50 for all 3.

That does not sound like good news. Where are they going to play? I was past today and noticed some international church or other seems to have moved in, is that anything to do with this?

Really well run competition @jimbaxtersand always fixtures that were tough to call. Thanks again and stick me down for next season. Be very surprised if I can reach these heights again so will enjoy while it lasts.

If there ends up being one and it’s the sole route to progress up the pyramid then all clubs good enough to get promoted to it would have to hold their noses and join I guess. There’s the small matters of winning this league, 2 playoffs then the Lowland and another playoff first though.

Hi @jimbaxters , not trying to hijack your game but thought this might be a bit of end of season fun (and no extra work involved for you). Basically there are 2 cups to play for, top and bottom half of league. So your score from tomorrows games in the prediction league is also your score for this round of the cup. Straight knockout and I’ve seeded it for ease. We’ve only got 3 rounds of predictions left so quarters-semis-finals for both cups, otherwise I would have just made the one cup for everyone. Nobody needs to do anything different just post predictions as usual. Happy to admit I was overconfident going into the final, kudos to Talbot for doing the business. Not a penalty or a red card for me (with the benefit of replays) and we didn’t deserve anything. Still a good night though. I think it’s pretty clear we are currently one of the top 5 or 6 squads in a competitive league but are a few players off a genuine title challenge. Ironically I think it was @BANKIEBILLthat posted mid season we were still looking to get points in the bag to guarantee premier league survival and was criticised for lack of ambition. We (the top teams) should be getting the opportunity to compete for automatic promotion places and playoffs of course, really good teams are going to miss out on promotions and then risk going backwards and opportunities disappearing. Very frustrating & f**k playing in this ‘conference’ pish. Imagine getting stuck in it for multiple seasons?
