He's came to us for game time and basically found himself mirroring where he was at with Raith ie can't get a regular start. That's no slight on him as players have been better in front of him. It's up to him to break into the side. Otherwise I'm not sure he'd be high on the list of priorities to sign a permanent contract, as it stands.

I don't think makes any great difference, if it did come to that I don't think we'd be totally part time more hybrid. So we'd still have some full time players. I think it's likely that maybe a club or two were after him this window or on a PCA. Hence get him tied up now.

Its a win win, there were probably clubs sniffing about him and so if they want him they'll now have to pay a fee regardless of what league we are in next season so makes sense to get him tied up now. I just hope there are one or two more follow suit.

Overall it's been a decent transfer window so far we have managed to get the three players we all thought would go out the door and brought in Ross, Shanley and Tait. All of whom should be an upgrade on those aforementioned. Although I did see an article in the Daily Ranger with Rankin bumping his gums about how Accies would be better off without Tait in the group. There's clearly been some sort of fall out there despite him denying it in the article.

Was it not 50k for him and £10k for Jim Kerr both from Brechin.

Oliver isn't a natural striker and not one you'd hang your hat on if he was the only option to take chances at the business end of a season. Ideally we'd all love a more experienced keeper, another centre half and a striker for the run in but it won't happen.

Because if Shanley and MacIver both get injured your back to Oliver at centre forward. Unless the plan is to chuck Alfie through the middle if required.

Good luck to Allan hopefully bangs in a few goals and helps you guys get up the league a bit. Just hasn't worked out for him at Falkirk. That said it's probably a move that suits all parties, he scores a few goals, gets you wins whilst putting himself in the shop window. He's still got 18 months on his contract.

Feel a bit sorry for Allan but it just hasn't happened for him with us. If he does well at Clyde he puts himself in the shop window at least. Lawal must be next surely, at least Allan and McKay made the bench, Lawal has been nowhere near it.

Only way I can see us bringing in another centre back is if Lawal goes out on loan. Midfield is where we have most bodies so I'd say he would be next out the door before Allan.

The only issue with that is we let go someone who wasn't happy sitting on the bench albeit not the greatest centre half. Anyone coming in will need to be better than McKay (not that it would be too difficult) but be happy sitting on the bench. Any experienced defender probably doesn't want to do that so then your looking at a young centre back. Does he play before Mackie? I'll caveat that by saying we do need a centre half but more so if anything happens to McCann as Mackie is deputy there.

I thought when he left Raith he was a certainty to join us given McGlynn's penchant for signing former players, and we needed a keeper. Not that I thought he was a world beater first time around but I don't think he'd have conceded some of the goals that the Long/Hogarth combo have. Although Long was good pre injury to be fair to him.

Hamilton will drop points between now and the end of the season. We just need to match their results and it's done. Easily said ofcourse but Rankin will sabotage them if you believe their support. See if we had been playing shite for weeks I'd be more concerned, Edinburgh was entirely on McGlynn not having any respect for them and thought he could pick any personnel and all we had to do was turn up and win. I think it'll have softened up but not so sure it won't still be like concrete underneath. Might be patches that are ok but others still solid. If the ref thinks it's a risk for player safety it'll be off.

I don't think anyone is ITK to what his wages actually are but knowing that c**t Holt they must have been decent enough to chuck a three year deal at him from Inverness to ensure he signed for us.
