  1. There's a long way to go yet. Hamilton have already clawed us back once, it's not like we are over the hill and far away, although some of the comments from the Accies fans would have you believe the league is over already. Nonsense. We could (and I hope it doesn't happen) lose Lang, Spencer and Morrison/Miller for a significant period of time and we'd be in the shit aswell. Hamilton will strengthen in January it's important we do aswell although I don't expect a huge amount movement from us.
  2. I'd be surprised if he doesn't head back down to England that's where the money is at even the lower echelons. 12 league goals before Christmas is a decent return and won't have gone unnoticed. I didn't mind Burrell at us we've had worse, there's no doubting the lad can finish, his work rate wasn't always what it should have been though and I think that was what made McGlynn's mind up to get rid.
  3. Well done boys. Finally a win when it really matters, if that doesn't breed confidence going forward nothing will. Only negative is Hogarth he just gives you the fear. He wasn't great before he went back to Forest, Long is the better keeper out the pair.
  4. Agreed you can't see him starting at all unless there's injuries, then you're relying on his knee holding up. He'll be away in the summer with the likelihood dropping more into coaching than playing or punditry he's been on sportsound a few times.
  5. I can see this being a similar type of game to the one at TFS. Both teams cancelling each other out. I'll be surprised if either side really goes gung ho. Hamilton may be a bit more adventurous with them being at home, I wasn't confident we would win at Montrose and I'm not confident we'll win here either. 3 points would be massive but a point wouldn't be the worst result IF we win our game in hand against Cove. A loss whilst not good isn't a disaster in the grand scheme of things as I think more points will be dropped by both teams before the end of the season it just makes 3 points from the Cove game all the more important.
  6. Burrell is a decent finisher given the chance I'd say better than Allan, which begs the question if MacIver gets injured is Allan the answer? Or if we are going to strengthen in January do you let Allan go on loan and try to bring in a tall centre forward similar to MacIver as McGlynn favours one up top.
  7. It's an absolute stick on Burrell scores on Saturday isn't it?
  8. Think some of the FSS money has already went on keeping Ross till the end of the season. Hamilton were lucky tonight, Played most of the second half with ten men and the woodwork rescued them in injury time or they would have dropped points aswell. Most sides have a bogey team or a team that you know it's going to be a hard game. Montrose is ours. Neither us or Hamilton have really blinked yet but Cove are creeping up on the shoulder they could yet have a say.
  9. Thought we might struggle tonight, we always get a tough game against Montrose, it's a point on the road just a bit disappointing Hamilton won despite playing most of the second half with ten men and Annan hit the post in the 94th minute
  10. Little bit apprehensive for this one Montrose always give us a tough game and with Henderson suspended and us carrying a couple of knocks it could be an even sterner test. 2-1 bairns but wouldn't be surprised if it's a draw.
  11. The one thing that Morrison has is pace we don't have anyone else as fast as him and for all his flaws ie can be greedy, lack of awareness etc his pace terrifies defenders, we miss him when he's not playing, and It would be detrimental to our hopes of getting promoted if he gets sold in January.
  12. Fantastic result, totally deserved. I was a bit worried going into this especially after scraping past Edinburgh last week, I thought United might have put us to the sword a bit, but this should give us a massive confidence boost, if we can take apart the side likely to get promoted back to the premiership we should have absolutely nothing to fear going forward for the rest of the season.
  13. I'm the opposite I'd start him first and hope we get a few goals in the bag then bring on Nesbitt, Oliver etc. Nesbitt isn't going to terrify anyone, Agyeman running at the backline with opponents bouncing off him does even if it's just getting us fouls. As much as Lang is a brute at centre half big Alfie picking the ball up in the midfield is just as effective
  14. Dunfermline shit fested their way to the title last season by not playing great and winning narrowly on quite a few occasions. I'll take that all day long if it means getting out of this league. End of the day that's two weeks on the bounce we haven't been brilliant but we haven't lost. In fact we gained a point on Hamilton. We aren't going to thump teams three, four and five every week.
  15. Long was injured that's why he lost his place initially, McGlynn probably feels some sort of loyalty to Hogarth considering he's our keeper not a loanee but I agree I think Long should be back in, he's the better keeper out the two imo. But the 3 points were the most important thing and crucially we got them on a day when Hamilton have obliterated Stirling and our goal difference
  16. Yogi or rather his ego still believes he can manage in the premier league, usually if there's a vacancy going he's on sportsound openly touting himself for the job. If he really wants back into management at some point he's going to have to bite the bullet and start further down the ladder. Although the Livi situation might be interesting when Martindale eventually pisses off then you might see him back at Livi with his pal Ricey.
  17. Alloa have been poor this season certainly worse than last year when he got them into the playoffs, I don't think Rice could have taken them much further in all honesty, although FWIW I think he's a better coach than manager
  18. He'll get the manager's job once Martindale gets offered a bag of cash to go somewhere else. I'm surprised he never jumped ship to St Johnstone when he had the chance.
  19. I think he is of the ilk that he's managing on the playstation not Edinburgh City. How many times do you hear managers spouting shite about "the players won't be here there needs to be changes yada yada" the end game always is the players will still be there or most of them but the manager won't. It never ends well if your going to throw the players under the bus.
  20. I'll take an embarrassing 1 nil win thanks if it keeps us clear of Accies.
  21. That's a wild shout. One loss for us coupled with an Accies win by a few goals and it's swap places. Long long way to go yet.
  22. I'd let McKay go on loan in January if he isn't injured. If Allan goes on loan it's who do you bring in upfront that's going to get you ie 8-10 goals and probably not a starter. I'd also say if he does go I'd be very surprised if he gets a club in the championship so that leaves league 1 or 2. Do you let him go to a club in this league? I'd keep Lawal because he has it in his locker to do something out of nothing . It'll be interesting to see what happens with Ross if he goes back to Raith or stays, a lot will depend on what their squad depth is like come January . And McGinn doesn't look like he's going to kick a ball for us anytime soon. So I'd say a centre half, forward and midfielder/winger required in January.
  23. A win would have been great but it's a very good point given Accies losing. Take it and we move on to the next game.
  24. Aye I think your right there. If he assists Burrell with the winner on Saturday then there will be a few greenies on this thread.
