That's the reason Crawford isn't being kept on, isn't it? So I'd imagine the chances of Cardle coming in would be slim.

His academy appears to be well established and maybe he would consider a football management position. No Idea though if that would appeal to them or if they have that desire. Would be a good option though in my opinion to have him involved in some shape or form.

  2. Since the next Cowden manager chat has went very silent and to generate some discussion on the next person to take the hot seat I wonder if Joe Cardle would be interested in the job and worth a shout?. Good development footballing links within the local communities. His football academy probably takes up most of his time though.

I would say we need an experienced spine to the side - keeper , central defender and centre forward.

Agree. At least we have an experienced central midfielder with Mcnab

Been a consistent problem all this season which needs to be addressed.  The tam regularly get into a winning position but are unable to put the game to bed.

Defence definitely needs addressed. Hopefully the new manager gets the perfect formula of a solid defence but also a team that is capable of scoring a few goals each game. If Sandys Albion find a winning formula up front they could well be up there next season with the best defensive record in the league this season.

  5. Not a great game but what a goal by Robbie.

A win is a win however and good to come back from one nil down.

Meanwhile nice to be in the club bar at full time when lot's of folk have turned up.

Crap. Defence needs major work in the off season.

Agree. Defence has been an issue this season.

Disappointing to lose a great lead at following winning in the first half.

Still though I hope Crawford/Dair are here for the longer term next season.

On ye go big man yer club's scrapping about for any manager who'll take on yer pishy wee team

I don't think the current appointment of Crawford is scrapping around for any manager

Your own team is not out the woods yet although I think they will come good by the end of the season.

  8. My shortlist for the next Cowdenbeath FC manager is as follows below and it's vital we get this appointment spot on to help with our short to medium term ambitions.

The top 2 are proven and have had success at this level would be the Ideal candidates.

The last 2 Jim something different in terms of long term football management experience particularly in their spell at Peterhead. Stevie something different but maybe feels he still has a point to prove and has significant experience and contacts in the game.

As I say Robbie or Gary would be my preference. Both have shown they can achieve success with which is my perception of low budgets

    1. Robbie Horne

    2. Gary Jardine

    3. Jim McInally *Although not very keen on pizza at Central Park compared to slap up 3 course meals at Peterhead*

    4. Stevie Crawford

  9. Now the dust has settled from yesterday hopefully as mentioned we can put a run of form in for the rest of the season and make some adjustments to strengthen the squad for next season.

We definitely should have won yesterday but we didn't sadly.

Let's keep coming up with ideas on how to help with things on the park ie race nights/réunions and keep the sense of community going.

I think we need to ideally get volunteers to do the post interview match stuff too for fan engagement to hear from manager etc as I think that's important and for visibility. To be fair the manager in the past has been highly visible even on the back of heavy defeat against EK

The only way you would dramatically improve things to what you want would be someone coming along and investing a huge wad of cash which I can't see happening.

So what's the alternative a falling stone into the East of Scotland Leagues? I agree though unfortunately it's all about the money it would seem even at this level  😢

  11. Poor result today on the back of last week's poor effort. Not good enough and it's time for us as fans to get our elbows out and start asking real and difficult and challenging questions on the direction of our football club/ current team as quite frankly 11th in the lowland is simply not good enough and unacceptable and I'm getting tired of investing in fundraising efforts only to be continued to be heavily let down on the pitch despite hard work and effort from fans, volunteers and board members unless people are content with 11th league status. I know I'm certainly not.

It was a really good listen and great to hear 3  players from slightly different eras all speak so fondly of their time at the club, and none of them having any ties originally to the area.  All of them would be very good interviews in their own right I would think.

Nice to hear from @silkybeathas well.

Lets hope we can get the numbers in the CISS up over the next few months leading into next season.

    Was another good listen

For the reunion day to be a real success and turnout that we want it to be,I feel there needs to be some further creativity/publicity.

Can our media team publish a short video to advertise the event/perhaps with short videos from Ambassadors/current fans Old and new encouraging people to come to the event?

Can local radio help promote the event with perhaps someone from the club/CISS getting to come on to promote?

A competition of who takes the most people to take to the reunion day?

Just some ideas for consideration and appreciate needs volunteers too to help enable this.

  13. Catching up on yesterday and didn't realise Buchanan has signed back up with Berwick.

Shame we didn't manage to collect the 3 points yesterday to kick on. However although would prefer to be much higher up the league table we still are the best placed out of all former SPFL clubs.

Tough two games coming up against EK who know where the net is but we have matched and competed with them in the past.

I have been watching a few open goal podcasts recently maybe an opportunity to speak to Simon Ferry about doing a Cowdenbeath theme podcast/wings challenge with former Cowdenbeath personnel or current. Coo Shed meets open goal podcast perhaps 😆

No complaints at all, second half was a bit better, looked like a sitter of a header missed about 10 from the end (we were in the stand at the other end, so apologies if it wasn’t as easy as it looked) if that had gone in could have been interesting.

Very good support from Bo’ness and they seemed a decent bunch.

Left a couple of minutes from the end which is something I hardly ever do, a meh afternoon.

Same here not left before full time for a while.

No complaints from me either the better team won.

If we are serious about our ambitions we need to learn how to beat all teams in this league. As I said though felt we matched them second half and played better second half but shame we didn't play like that for 90 minutes.

    Really poor goals conceded too

Well that appeared to be a crap day at the office.

Really poor today. Boness much more physical than us. Although felt we were better in the second half and matched them.

Disappointing day at the office compared to our recent form

  16. I see there is a chance of overnight frost  on Friday night. Hopefully game will be on? BBC showing 0c each hour but feels like -3. Fingers crossed it comes to nothing as looking forward to Saturdays game.

Quick trivia question, looked this up last night, when did Cowden last win 3 league games on the trot? I’m sure this is a piece of cake for a lot of you.

14/9/19 three nil away against Stenhousemuir where we went on a 6 game winning streak that ended with a one nil Vs Edinburgh city at home on 5/10/19?

  18. Another great result today for us playing to the final whistle.

Good result for Albion Rovers beating EK which I'm sure a lot of people didn't expect and especially 3-1.

Looking forward to Saturday to see if we can keep this winning formula going.
