Would definitely keep Davidson. Not sure if he is away. Sure someone mentioned that work commitments would get in the way of him playing.

Should sign him on a pay per game agreement

Genuinely disappointed by that news on multiple fronts.

Think this shows Callum making his own stamp on things and potentially utilising any incoming transfer fees to make his own team.

Clearly there had to be changes as at the end of the day we finished 15th in the Lowland league so exits were always going to happen if we are serious in our ambitions to take the club to where we want it to be.

Enjoyed Lovey at the club and wish him well.

  3. Liking that another striker brought in who sounds good on paper.

Our downfall last season was we didn't score much so hopefully we build on a fairly decent defensive record from last season with more firepower and creativity.

    Looking forward to next season.

Callum appointment I feel is going to be refreshing following years of poor performances.

    Onwards and upwards

  4. As a club and as we know we need to come up with new initiatives.

What's folks thoughts on a home game next season where the objective is for every home fan attending i.e our core support of 150 brings at least one person to the game with them to double the crowd whilst utilising the club bar and maybe a buffet could be arranged etc.

    Thoughts?

Not a groundbreaking Idea but a very simple one.

  5. Can't believe it's 9 years today from that famous victory at East End Park.

I wonder if there would be some interest in organising next year a 10th anniversary event of that successful day?

Think someone has the infamous surreal video of celebrations in the Junction Bar gents tops off to hey jude/on pool tables what a day and night that was and on a Sunday

I rate Sinclair alot his performance away to rangers B for unbelievable. But he played the majority of the season as a winger not a striker. In those few games as striker he was class. Doubt the east fife boys will come back. Gaffer still has space for assistant manager so an experienced player assistant up front would be ideal.

Definitely would like to still have Sinclair next season. If he plays as a striker and right people around him we might have a prolific goal scoring machine similar to his previous seasons before LL football.

We will just have to wait and see I suppose and depending on what Callum wants

A great player but his career has been plagued by injury

Thanks. A Lewis Milne return would be excellent but would assume want's to remain an SPFL player and at our level would likely be a significant dip in wages.

Is there going to be more next week? I can imagine the majority of the Broomhill team will be leaving, would take 1 or 2 players from there for sure!

Probably EK will snap up some i.e Broadfoot maybe?

  9. Hope a decent crowd for tomorrow.

Remember club bar probably open if more folk could use it and have one before the match and one after it would create a positive atmosphere pre and post match bringing players/board/fan's/volunteers closer together. Appreciate folk's have their favourite pub but even if it's just one it could help the club also.

Mr Cameron fantastic host or whoever else is assisting.

  10. Wouldn't it be much easier to agree on an SPFL league 3 12 teams if conference league likely to go ahead.

400k from B teams could fund the prize money for the league. Bottom of SPFL 3 for first season could still have second chance trapdoor prevention by playing winner of LL and HL playoff. Also allow clubs in SPFL league 3 into league cup for opportunity for more funds for clubs.

Then in future seasons open up pyramid further into an SPFL 3 maybe top 4 of LL and top 4 of HL going into a tournament for 3 places into the SPFL league 3 and bottom of SPFL league 3 automatic relegation and winner of either LL or HL automatic promotion. Would make the Scottish Pyramid more fluid and a greater opportunity for SPFL club's that are relegated more opportunity to get back and more opportunities for other clubs within the pyramid. It would also make LL and HL much more attractive and something to play for.

Totally disagree how a new league can be shoehorned in above existing tiers. If it was an SPFL league I would agree as it would be seen as an extension to SPFL.

  11. Sounds very encouraging from yesterday both result and performance and hopefully a reasonable crowd next Saturday that might give the club some extra.

Thoughts on Pyper? Personally would take him back knows the club knows the Lowland League however Elliott understandably will have his own ideas and want to make his own individual stamp on things too I would imagine.

  12. Suddenly went quiet on here 🤔 not from Cowden fans though 😁

Brilliant piece of business it would appear on reflection after having a more informed view of Callums history.

Yeah. Not convinced he will be any good, but we can't afford much.

Very true. We don't have the luxury anymore to be fussy.

Still think a tried and tested manager that has done well in the Lowland league is the answer but still comes down to £££

Hopefully we hear something soon and regardless who it is has my full support on what will hopefully be a successful Cowdenbeath management career

    Tosh

Is that a hidden clue CC to us Cowden fan's our next appointment is Tosh McKinley 😂

At least we all know together as Cowdenbeath fans/volunteers what we are trying to achieve.

Keep up the good work as always, I don't think we say it enough together as fans but we fully appreciate all you do for this club past and present which should be recognised and celebrated.

You show your ignorance of the league you are in now. Most of us on here criticising, follow the non league system, which counts up to 150 clubs all like yours trying to survive.

But they are continually dumped upon by 42 plus 16 supposedly bigger and better clubs.

    The pyramid exists below LLland.

Yes I understand pyramid is below Lowland league as well.

As mentioned I don't agree with the introduction of conference league and did not intend to be perceived  as being ignorant so should have said displacing leagues further down the pyramid structure is unfair

  16. Lot's of opinions and criticisms out there in terms of how clubs have voted and everyone entitled to an opinion.

For me as a football fan and Cowden fan there needs to be respect regardless of which ways clubs have voted as it's their vote and will have their own reasons

Personally for my club I think it's a strategic decision probably financially and to try to increase chances to be promoted next season i.e however many places from Lowland league next season into a potentially new conference league.

It's quite easy for bigger club fans or SPFL club fans to criticise our clubs stance if it has voted in favour but when a club like Cowdenbeath has multiple challenges in terms of significant reduction in income etc as a result of the trapdoor why would the club say no when the likelihood would have been for new league to be forced through resulting in no B team money.

Yes might not be a lot when distributed but every penny counts at this level and remember there is no prize money in the Lowland league.

Personally for the record I do not agree or feel comfortable with the introduction of the conference league displacing the Lowland league and Highland league under it with potentially the invitation of guest clubs as it doesn't seem fair and goes against how a pyramid should work i e based on results/league position.

They certainly commented at the start that there was a good turnout, though could only see the people doing the presentation when watching on zoom, not the whole room. Think there were about a dozen of us following on zoom.

    Encouraging to hear 👍
