  1. On a deep reflection today was actually a hard fought point that we should be pleased with given Tranents great league position.

Question marks over the standards on display today in terms of passing/creativity etc however you could argue both sides were at fault for overall standards today.

Overall pleased with the point and something to build on.

Don't worry, Santa will have dropped off a few surprises.

Hopefully Santa has been at Cowden.

Despite me moaning, feeling disillusioned and getting grumpy saying I won't be back anytime soon think I will grin and bare it by going next Saturday.

Why I want to is beyond me well I do know as just like the rest of us I care too much and talked myself round in the sense it could be worse that we could have no Cowdenbeath Football Club and we need to fight on to hopefully better days ahead at the club.

Nish though could have the last laugh next Saturday following us all being quite critical of them during their spell with us. To be fair he is doing a very good job at Tranent and building on their experience.

Wonder in hindsight rather than the Fox appointment how season would have went if we had kept Nish?

  3. No point in getting in a bun fight with Cowden Cowboy.

Cowden Cowboy puts their heart and soul into the football club and If it wasn't for their commitment and own personal time there would probably be no Cowdenbeath Football Club.

An individual who does not seek applaud or accolades but an individual who solely focusses on the task at hand by ensuring they work hard with their shoulder to the wheel.

Merry Christmas to everyone connected to Cowdenbeath and hopefully 2023 is the year where the club can move in a positive direction and we get out of such a miserable season of football which sadly we have had to endure so far.

Cowden316,  you need to accept that in the next 5 years the Blue Brazil are more likely to be relegated from the LL than promoted from it.

I hope that does not happen 😢

We have been lacking someone who can score a decent tally of goals for a good while now, not a new thing.

Yes I know and why haven't we been able to correct it?

Poor luck? Poor signings? Poor contacts?

To be fair we have tried Sinclair good risk albeit in a lower division before was scoring goals for fun and Buchs last season. So think there is some bad luck for us.

Hopefully 2023 will be a better year for the club as I certainly won't be back anytime soon as don't think I could sit there anymore watching this shambles of a season any longer as it's far too frustrating to watch and an embarrassment for us all. 2015 Championship 2022 not too many steps from falling into the East of Scotland Pyramid.

As I keep saying I'm far too disillusioned with the club just now Unless someone, something can show an ambitious sustainable vision and direction of the football club backed up with a visible credible plan then that may entice me back.

We used to be able to get some decent loan players in the past. Several staying on after loan finished.

    Why not anymore?

No idea mate not sure if because of financial reasons as sometimes loan deals you may pay a percentage of the wages so maybe that was affordable in our SPFL higher league days.

Kane Hemmings and other Rangers deal days are over I think.

Someone mentioned it a few weeks ago when he announced he was leaving Swifts.

As mentioned he played under Colin Nish at Cowden so there is a connection.

    Wouldn't mind having him back!

Would be good to have him back.

Part of our continued downfall is our lack of goals. When you look at our league position this season looking at goals for and goals against we are not that much worse of for goals against compared to much higher positioned clubs including the top end. So there is a positive in there, trying to find one is hard these days.

So If this squad had much more creativity and someone blasting the goals in without stating the obvious we would be amongst the top of the pack.

East Kilbride in 3rd for instance one goal less conceded than us but the difference those 27 extra goals.

Need a striker that knows how to get the ball in the net and our season may improve.

  8. It deeply hurts me to say this but I won't be back until I see and hear some credible plan to improve things at the football club both on and off the park.

I'm far too disillusioned just now with the direction of the club as I see nothing inspiring just now only uninspiring and each season is getting worse and worse. We are at the bottom end of Lowland League football despite a lot of hard work from volunteers etc and investment in the squad and for what only to be not far of looking at East of Scotland football If it weren't for other clubs propping us up.

This season and the end of last season has been all talk but no action/results and we have been here before and heard it all before.

It simply isn't good enough it's not good enough for the loyal fans, volunteers and everyone who works hard to run the club.

  9. Looks like I was right the first time this is a shambles currently.

What's the excuses this week for the continued poor performance.

Huge huge question marks around the performance of the team/management .

Continued disillusionment as a fan for me I'm afraid.

It's unlikely fixture will go ahead tomorrow due to weather which is a shame as there was hospitality booked and a decent turnout from celtic b fans likely to turn out with no 1st team game.. so again bit of a kick in teeth for the club. As well as having couple initiatives which people have worked hard on promoting and setting up.

In regards to bbtv. It's quite simple It's people and time. I myself am trying to fit in an interview with Jack ruddy which will for sure happen but ideally it was going to be tomorrow. It needs 2 or 3 people same place same time and it's not always possible. I think this season  our content has improved and we have tried new things and the plan is always to grow our social media side.

If someone wants to stand up and say yep I will be main man for that area of club alongside say Ross then please step forward but be prepared for plenty of your time and sometimes last minute planning.

Onto the pitch just to keep fans updated Scott Sinclair missed other evening as he has a knee issue. Need to get to bottom of the issue before giving a prognosis and timings.

A fans meeting will be held in January and that was always going to be the case. If people can't make it I understand that's frustrating however I'm unsure how we can go about reaching out to each and every fan perhaps a broad report can be published afterwards of that meeting.

The management board and players are understandably frustrated with our league position and recent results and believe me when I say there is people behind the scenes and on this board  helping and supporting getting things right on the pitch either financially or through their time.

The staff are working night and day It's not always just 2 training sessions and games it's a 7 day working week for us all to improve and try get things moving in right direction.

    Cheers.

    Mon the cowden.

Good stuff Nelly we know you and others are working tirelessly behind the scenes which none of us should take for granted which I'm sure people don't.

For a far reaching meeting maybe trial an online Teams or other online platform similar to what was tried during COVID and to which many people are familiar to using every day in some workplaces. Added bonus saves travel for those outwith Cowdenbeath and you never know might get a higher attendance but I get Face to Face is powerful and can be more engaging.

Typical luck for our club with the weather tomorrow and for folks attending hospitality

  11. The club definitely need to press ahead with some line of communication with the fans and a communication line with those that cannot attend meetings.

The first thing that needs to be addressed is consistency i.e the club media you either have weekly interviews with the manager/club staff or you don't. Appreciate this could be down to volunteers but you need this to continue week in week out even if results are poor. Blue Brazil TV is such a powerful tool as it can be far reaching but underused.

The Chairman who is after all the head and owner of the club and who I respect a lot for their hardworking efforts to help initially save the club and who I blame for me wanting to start helping and becoming a fan of Cowdenbeath in the first place following their passionate plea to help the football club when looking for volunteers via clubs website etc. Right now the club needs that passion once again from them  and needs to show the strongest of leadership right now and be highly visible to fans and come out with a statement to fans regarding the current situation and their vision for the future of Cowdenbeath F.C whether that be a fan's meeting or blue Brazil TV interview I don't know that would be their decision.

Fans Group someone has to grip and take charge of gathering fans view's, opinions and set up a task group of volunteers to assist the club with operations and fundraising initiatives.

Central Park Open and honest conversations regarding the future and plans What do we want to do Who can assist What stakeholders do we need onboard to fulfill the clubs longer term strategy.

Board Members Succession Planning Who is the future of running Cowdenbeath FC Who wants to help the club now and in the short to long term/future

Strong Relationships with no fall outs. Everyone cares right now whether that be fans that have walked away, those putting their heart and soul in each day whether board members or volunteers. It's key though for everyone to work together for the good of the club and town and respect differences of opinion but agreeing a common goal being rebuilding Cowdenbeath FC to be a self sustaining community football club at the heart of Cowdenbeath whilst being a competitive and ambitious part time football Club that everyone can be proud of.

There got my Cowden mojo back for a bit there a lot of my personal views and opinions are key for the club and if we can't do some of that then sadly in my view the club is at risk

A lot of it though comes down to peoples own time and energy and there has never been a greater need for that than now.

In my 10 years as a Cowdenbeath fan I have heard a lot of save Cowdenbeath pleas over the years but if I'm being honest this is probably one of the most critical save Cowdenbeath F.C moments in the clubs history.

The club needs fans and volunteers more than ever so despite the awful results and unacceptable league position let's keep trying to have our club Cowdenbeath FC in existence and hopefully 2023 will have better times ahead.

It's not an easy task given our league status, current climate and lack of resources and investment but one thing for sure is there is still enough of us who care and a lot of hard working people both board members and volunteers who have jobs and family's continue to give up their time for nothing to show for just now apart from keeping the club in operation and continuing the clubs legacy.

I still won't be there this Saturday and I am still disillusioned but one thing I do know I will be back as I still care and care very deeply.

Whilst everyone is fully entitled to their own opinion  remember to be kind lots of unhelpful comments out there to some folk including towards board members. If the board were to all resign tomorrow I don't think there would be a club anymore as I don't see anyone who is open about coming in and running the club.

Is there any end to these results? We really are awful no matter how it is dressed up.
How has it come to this.

    Spot on.

It's really unacceptable really this season it has been absolutely dreadful.

I'm not interested how things are dressed up either we have been here before season after season the league table doesn't lie 16/19 is humiliating.

Very difficult to get enthusiasm to look forward to watching Cowdenbeath for the rest of the season given it's finished and we can't get a winning team on the park.

What's the answer though we are where we are with very little resource and investment.

Just can't believe how bad this season has been.

I'm a glass half full person but at this rate my glass is almost empty.

Won't be there this Saturday and if I'm honest I can't really see myself returning anytime soon sadly with the current setup well and truly disillusioned and scunnered.

I just booked the trains, and I know it's a few weeks off yet, but will a few fans be travelling down for the Gretna game? It's the closest one for me (now I'm not making an annual pilgimmage to Annan) so it would be good to see some familiar faces.

I'm tellin you now, I'll bring some luck and we'll win this one! So hopefully see you there ✊

Was hoping to and a few others but might not be now with trains being a hit or miss etc

Meanwhile Brechin are having a great season. How come? Don’t think anyone is throwing money at them.

Attendance rates probably helping Brechin with fans sticking with the club. Attendance rates 400 plus at most home games.

Fans through the gate is key that's why I'm concerned with our low rates. No attraction when getting beat 10 times out of 18 at this level.

Huge apathy at the club just now and I can understand fans frustrations with the same old negative continued Cowdenbeath Survival mode which takes its toll with the same people putting in with no return in results on the park.

New strategies and vision is deeply needed at the club with a massive overhaul at board level with strong leadership to road map how we take the club back to the SPFL and to have a football club we can be proud of at the heart of the town.

The board at Cowdenbeath are nothing short of exemplary for what they have done over the years keeping our club alive and I'm very grateful to them for their continued hard work and for what continuation of poor results. The board definitely needs more support in terms of fresh new board members whilst having the support/mentoring of existing board members. If I'm disillusioned they must be even more so disheartened.

Thank goodness there is a 3 week break maybe there is a reason Lowland league fixtures have lot's of breaks as I don't think I could keep watching this regularly.

The team have to step up as 13th is unacceptable unless you are happy being a standard midtable Lowland league team.

A rant but no wonder and I know there is plenty of fans feeling the same.

As I say only turning up still because I care for the club deeply as it's certainly the worst I have felt as a Cowdenbeath fan and not enjoyable anymore.

I noticed that sign as well. Aye the last few seasons certainly has.

You have to take your chances when you have them is a true saying.

Gary Jardine is the best manager in the LL knows it inside out, getting a club with virtually no support challenging for the title is some achievement.

Disappointing result today and yes Gary Jardine doing a good job.

Also massive well done to University Stirling just now 2nd in the Lowland league with us sitting 13th 18 points behind them. How far we have plummeted like a stone.

What a rubbish season this is very very poor and not the standard to take the club forward and attract new fans when sitting 13th in the Lowland league winning only 5 games out of 18.

The amount of fan's I speak to which are not enjoying it anymore is worrying and the amount of fans who have not returned is worrying too.

I hope for massive improvements results wise

Sounds like today we were unfortunate but no excuses it's a results business and we just can't seem to muster a run of decent results.

Yes I'm very annoyed and still disillusioned with the club just now

  17. I know there is a lot of discussion on here and programme regarding the viability of Central Park and the financial challenges.

In respect of any potential future location my view is it's essential for Cowdenbeath to remain playing in the town of Cowdenbeath whether that be at Central Park or a new location as if you move Cowdenbeath F.C away from the town the club loses it's Identity and may risk being another meadowbank in the future being rebranded. Obviously not under current board that care deeply for  the club but who knows what the longer term future holds for Cowdenbeath.

New Central Park is a no from me personally as you would be as well as merging the clubs as it's out of the town and as folk have pointed out if struggling to get fans to games as it is.

I have heard another location mooted and whilst would set a fresh start for the club with new foundations and interesting to an extent, I would have the same concerns in losing the clubs identify.

Ideally as we all know if we want to get back to the SPFL we need someone to bankroll it as rightly or wrongly seems to be the way.

I just can't see with our future budgets/infrastructure how we can compete to win the Lowland League and win the playoffs. That's not me being doom and gloom as I more than anyone want Cowdenbeath to succeed and survive with a quick return to SPFL football, I am just being realistic.

The main thing for me right now is to have Cowdenbeath F.C continued existence to carry on it's proud history with the club laying foundations for a proud future for generations to come. We have great people doing just that on and off the park but we need to keep at it and come up with new ideas and promote the club.

Adding further onto this but just stumbled across this article back in May

    https://scottishfsa.org/chairmans-blog-20-05-22/

I wonder if such discussions about the future of the Scottish game are taking place amongst clubs including clubs such as ourselves who voted for pyramid?

Personally at these meetings if they take place they should also invite a fan representative from each club for their thoughts and ideas by running a series of workshops.

Think tonight's attendance might be the worst this season.

Tonight's attendance was one of the better ones sure it was about 229. Boness brought a few through.

Not bad for a midweek winter lowland league game.

  19. 34 minutes ago, PELE said:

Well it's 11 weeks since Cumbernauld knocked us out of the South Challenge Cup. This will be a chance to see if we have made any real progress since then.

Cumbernauld have won 3 and lost 9 since then. We have won 4 and lost 6.

Cumbernauld have scored 19 and conceded 23 in those 12 matches. Whereas, we have scored 15 and conceded 9 in those 10 matches.

In the first 5 of those matches we scored 8 goals, all 8 by forwards (2 of them penalties). In the latter 5 matches we have scored 7 goals, only 1 by a forward.

The excitement and suspense is unbelievable in the lead up to this game as we can see with the level of engagement in the lead up to this game on here.

I'm someone who is usually positive, half glass full but I'm not enjoying football on a Saturday etc right now with Cowdenbeath as it's very uninspiring taking into account our league position and I'm disillusioned with the direction of the club right now in terms of on the park.

League table doesn't lie. 15/19 Lowland League as it stands we are better than this surely and that's with parachute payment. 2014/15 SPFL championship 2022/23 4 places away from relegation to the East of Scotland league. 7 years of going into oblivion.

I will be there this afternoon but not looking forward to it and there's something wrong when you start to not enjoy it anymore. Only reason going is loyalty to the club.

Hopefully better days lie ahead for Cowdenbeath Football club
