Really looking forward to tomorrow, a new ground to watch us play and a big tie for the club getting through to the next round would be good financial gain. 65 fans leaving the junction bar tomorrow for it so we’ll have a good crowd.

Looking forward to it too. Some fans travelling by car and train so hopefully hit approx 100 travelling away fan's which is really good with us in the lowland league and how far it is.

    Let's go

Just read that 3 of the Blue Brazil under 17's played a 45 minutes each too. Brilliant to hear. Hopefully we pick up a few gems over the next wee while.

Did any of the Blue Brazil under 17s play? Great initiative creating a pathway to senior football. Might eventually find a Greg Stewart

We conceded few goals last season because we were set up for that rather than trying to score them. More or less when a team scored we were fucked.

    Much prefer Calum's style.

Yes much prefer Callums style too

It seems all the team's really lacking is a couple of older, wiser heads whose legs might not be able to last a full 90 minutes these days but no the score, have been about a bit - so to speak - and can be thrown into the mix with half an hour to go to help calm things down and get a grip on the game. With a bit more experience and nouse, so many draws could easily be turned into wins.

Had a good chat with the gaffer downstairs after the brunch where he took the time to engage with fans after the event which says a lot about his personality and understands the importance of doing so at a community club.

The gaffer is keen as any manager of strengthening the squad with some more quality but at our level it is a challenge to attract.

Hopefully lessons are learned and we improve at defending set pieces and defending in general.

If we had the balance of last year's excellent defensive record for most part of the season with this season's brand of entertaining attacking play we would probably find ourselves in the top end.

Keen we continue to back the gaffer as I'm sure we will hopefully continue to grow and develop as a team.

  5. Really disappointing second half and giving away 2 goals despite a strong performance first half

What frustrates me more as I was crying out for someone to cover the back post at the corner and that's exactly where the ball ended up.

We have to improve defending corners.

We have to finish teams off.

I will certainly take a 1-nil defeat tonight.

They squandered some shots in the box first half and had some glorious chances in the 2nd half, cutting through the back line too easily. Heppy with the big saves.

Very impressed with Ewan, starting to look like he's almost at full fitness. His press is frightening, nearly rewarded for it, twice! Hope he can start to get his tally up!

    Mon the coo!

Yes like the look of Ewan. Good to have him back in the team.

  7. More Lowland league points dropped tonight sadly which was always going to be a tough game based on Tranents form

Any match report from folk there. Hearing another soft goal conceded.

Safe travels home to those at the game.

Delighted that we are much better than last season and loving the positive vibe around the club just now.

However we must start to improve league wise as 11th and 16 points of the top isn't where we should be or deserve to be for that matter. Injuries and  needless suspensions certainly have not helped matters but that's part and parcel of football.

We must look to start stringing wins together in the league especially if we are serious on getting back to the SPFL in the short to medium term.

We cannot continue to say but x is better and x has a bigger budget that type of negative language frustrated me in the SPFL and look where it got us.

If as a club we continue with that mentality we will never be where we want to be as this could be the case in the league for some time with the pyramid system with many more bigger budget clubs coming up and potentially down.

We have shown so much positive improvements from last season on and off the park so hopefully Callum and the players/fans/board/volunteers hard work continues and we start to see further improvements with a good sequence of wins in the league and a massive travelling support for next week's Scottish cup tie

Let's get this these teams are bigger more budget in the bin and get back to the good old fashioned couldn't care who we are playing but we on our day are as good as anyone in this league and fear no one attitude regardless of money thrown about. Look at Berwick no guarantees unfortunately on success when spending bigger/players etc

Will finish of on a positive we are the highest ex SPFL team in the Lowland league just now

  8. Sore one.

We really need to learn and improve on seeing the win out.

Unlucky though Cowdenbeath better than a defeat and still miles better than last season.

Positive though at least we don't down the tools if we are getting beat and turn it around.

    Onwards and upwards.

That was a frustrating watch tonight and we were well of the pace.

Disappointing but understandable at the same time with game's coming thick and fast and injuries.

At least the players kept trying but we were not at the races with our final ball tonight and couldn't break down Tranent.

It was one of those games where we could have played all night and nothing would happen I felt.

We were unfortunate not to score too with the one on one.

We know at least we have a good squad who are pleasing to watch and will get us results

Tonight wasn't to be and we move on to look forward to next game aiming for the 3 points and hopefully go on a winning streak

    P.s

Great to see lot's of fans backing the club tonight with another good attendance Which will make such a difference on and off the park

Following Saturday's game with Gala Fairydean Rovers, we would like to invite all CISS members and all perspective members to the Andy Matthew Lounge in the stand.

The CISS Steering Group would like to provide an update on the progress to date whilst also giving an opportunity for members/fans to ask any questions they may have about the new Society.

We are delighted to announce that Cowdenbeath FC manager Calum Elliot will also be joining us and doing a 'Meet The Manager' session so feel free to come along and ask Calum any burning questions that you might have.

We'll provide a further update later on in the week with more details for Saturday's event.

    Great stuff.

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend as already have committed to something else and might not make the game either.

    Hope it's a successful turnout.

Great idea to do these events on match day as more chance of people attending as folk are already at the ground for the game etc.

Hope to make any future ones 👍

  11. Another very good performance from Cowdenbeath tonight who deserved to win. Broomhill were very compact and hard to break down and their keeper had a good game.

Taking nothing but positives from tonight. We showed yet again we will compete this season and it is now just Cowdenbeath and East Kilbride who are undefeated setting up a showdown on Saturday.

Excellent crowd tonight with more and more getting back on the Cowden Train to join in our new journey.

Refreshing to see folks back the club helping maintain a very special vibe around the club just now which personally feels great as I take personal pleasure out of that. One being for our club and two for all the great people that help keep Cowdenbeath F.C alive with their own personal time, commitment and money.

P.S What about our players. I don't think you see much of these days really are playing for the jersey/club. Credit to Callum also

Set up a livestream for us "overseas" supporters that can't make it to midweek games

I don't know what the current regulations are for doing so and of course I don't know if we have any volunteers to undertake.

  13. The Cowden just keep on giving

I have been following Cowdenbeath since 2012 and I honestly feel this is up there with the best sides I have seen

Aww when the sunshines on the coo shed and the ball goes in the net......

Think we play winners of dunfermline vs st andrews. Date will need tbc once those 2 play.

As for the game fans getting value anyway..lol.

Defensively it was a makeshift defence with tait playing left centre back when he's probably never played there before.

Walker pulled up during warm up. Aiden mclauglin is out for likely 4 to 6 weeks with an injury. Rodden is suspended this weekend and let's see what develops with him in terms of maybe further ban he has been a first class recruitment and will be a massive blow to us..

Good to get some boys minutes and mikey scoring on his 2nd debut.

Good to win a pen shoot out for a change!.

Onto Saturday which will be a tough game edi uni are better than last year for sure and have a good coach who is their new manager. Hopefully 3 points and get the unbeaten run continuing.

    Mon the cowden.

Shouldn't be a tough game though against a side who have lost their opening 4 games and shipped 18 goals. We have shown we can compete with higher league opposition so hopefully that shows on Saturday whilst obviously not underestimating Edin Uni from the points you have made.

My expectations are 3 points on Saturday and nothing less for me based on our form, being at home and Edinburgh position and start to the Lowland league. Looking forward to it

In regards to Fife Cup  if vs Dunfermline hopefully a good turnout to help the club. Are away gates shared do we know?

I'm a raith fan, currently on holiday in keswick. The bar I'm in has this on display.  I'm guessing it was probably commissioned by a local brewery??

    Beath Brewing probably.

  16. EK to me is all far too much hype and no guarantee they will win the league.

Boness are the in form team just now maybe nobody will catch them. EK will drop points like they have done already like many other clubs expected to be at the top end.

Yes big budget which certainly helps but still no guarantee as we have seen in past season.

Looking forward to playing them and hopefully winning against them again like last season.

Let's just concentrate on ourselves and not other LL sides management teams. Big game vs Edinburgh University next Saturday for us to build and further momentum.

Fans backing is excellent and the players and staff really appreciate it. 👏

Agree. Let's concentrate on our results and see where that takes us.

We have no control over other results only control against the opposition on match day.

Had a nice conversation with Si ferry and Mick kennedy before they left last night. They were full of praise after watching cowdenbeath said boys were looking very good. Didn’t get a reply thought after asking if he was worried for playing us in a couple of weeks😂

Didn't realise they were there. Obviously scouting their difficult opponent's (us) 😂

We shouldn't be fearing anyone. We have played 3 difficult games. Two of which full time and one a very experienced and wise Lowland League side CSS. Viaplay although not at the games perception we matched Premiership, Championship and other SPFL sides.

    Let's Go

  19. Fantastic performance from Cowden tonight again.

Honestly this side is a joy to watch and finally getting a well deserved win made it even better.

This side in terms of how they play football is up there with the best and helping improve our identity as a club.

I haven't seen a Cowden side as good as this for years probably since our championship days. The first half tonight it was actually like watching Brazil could have been a few up.

Delighted for everyone involved and good to see hard work deservedly reflecting on the park.

This team certainly deserves full backing and encouragement like they did tonight

    Have a good weekend folks

Yeah mate, I'm delighted they're getting done as I enquired on the official facebook page if the club was considering prints at the time of the raffle and, pleased to say that I think i already have one sorted, thanks to the generosity of one kind-hearted Cowden fan. Hopefully proves another decent earner for the club as the painting is an absolute stunner

Good stuff. Positive atmosphere around the club with everyone striving to work hard both on and off the park.

Think we are on the right path now hopefully after a dreadful few seasons.

Sore one to take on Saturday but the performance the team put in was outstanding and refreshing to see.

Continuous improvement and we could be in for a cracker of a season.

    Squad looks great
