  1. I was out at Horizon this afternoon doing a Commercial pic for them with John McGlynn & Paul Smith. I might have had something else on, though I can't for the life of me remember what it was.
  2. Going back to the days of Connor Park, the media officers have always asked for around 8 or 9 pictures for a match report which I send to them immediately after the game. The club also get a full gallery of images a day or two later which they can use as they like. As for pics during the applause, here are a few:-
  3. Cinch were doing promotional stuff. Was more a case of using our ground than Falkirk having an involvement.
  4. The players page will presumably be updated when the new headshots are done. The timing of that is entirely up to the manager; Houstie didn't usually do it until well into August when he felt his squad was complete. The individual headshots are pencilled in for later this week though that could change as it's already been rescheduled a couple of times.
  5. Hopefully with boards being fan-led from now on those days are over.
  6. In my case I would say there's also a (c) option - the club would have no difficulty replacing me, but would be unlikely to get the same quality of work from my replacement. Not because of any talent I have, but because I'm fortunate enough that I’ve been able to buy expensive equipment which may be out the reach of others with different personal circumstances. The equipment plays a large part in work quality and the club would accept that as long as they get something useable from whoever eventually follows me. As for treatment of volunteers, I can honestly say that in thirteen years I’ve never been treated with anything other than appreciation and courtesy by (almost) every director and staff member I’ve met. The exception being one former manager who was an odious little wankstain and he’s long gone. For me the key to enjoying your experience as a volunteer is to have a passion for what you’re doing. Most of the issues I’ve read around volunteers seems to be that some don’t feel appreciated, valued or thanked for what they do. While still being asked to do more and more. If you go in as a volunteer expecting to be loved, then you may end up disappointed, depending on who you work with / for. If you go in as a volunteer loving what you do, then other people don’t matter. That’s me. They could ignore me completely but as long as they gave me access to the pitchside and left me in peace for 90 minutes I’d be happy.
  7. I think you'll get it. There are some system issues which I don't want to go into as it might taken as a criticism of a sponsor, but those will be resolved. Even Rolls Royces break down occasional and FFC have been more akin to a Lada in recent years. With some focus being placed on human error I suspect the guys will be a little more detail-orientated in future. I don't want to say any more as they're my friends and might shout at me for talking about them on a public forum. They do a lot more than they get paid for but everyone makes mistakes. Hopefully the football today will give us something more positive to talk about.
  8. Over the years, most people who've attacked the club have directed their ire either at those at the very top, such as BOD, CEO or MSG, or those involved in the football side, such as players and managers. Your posts are somewhat different. I'm reading between the lines here and may be completely wrong, but it seems that your sights are set on the two media staff. You make a lot of assumptions about their work and the systems they use. Most of those assumptions are completely wrong. Some are fair, such as the typos, which they admit to if you speak to them in person. But you place so much focus on an issue that many would consider minor that it almost suggests a personal agenda. As I say, I could be completely wrong but that's the inference I'm taking from your many posts on the subject.
  9. I know about Kyan Gunn going to Airdrie as one of their fans tagged me into a post and asked me what I thought of him. Who are the others? I know who's missing from our teams, but not where they went.
  10. Fair play for the admission; I couldn’t remember who it was. I don’t know anything about local youth football other than watching the kids that Falkirk sign, but some of the stuff I saw under IF last season was superb. Pearse Carroll was always the pick of the bunch but there were others that weren’t far behind him. I’m obviously just a fan and not a coach or an expert, but I reckon Scott Honeyman has a chance.
  11. Just in case anyone is interested in the kids, it was advertised earlier that our U18s were playing Camelon U20s tonight. Falkirk 12 Camelon 0. Hat-trick from Scott Honeyman and doubles from Aaron Ramage, Louis Johnston, Kaine McFarlane, trialist and then a single from Liam Hall. Not a bad result considering one poster on here said you would see better players on a Saturday morning down Dawson Park. And before another poster (or two) complain about it not being on the official site, the two part-time media officers aren't paid to cover youth games and never have been. If a report goes up it's submitted by the coach and they publish it.
  12. Cape Verde. Pelé (footballer, born 1978) - Wikipedia I still maintain that if he hadn't been injured against Motherwell on our tattie field of a pitch Falkirk would have stayed up that year.
  13. We now have 24 signed players, which compares well in numbers if not quality with the 18 that McKinnon started his first L1 season with. I'm not sure how many more we can expect. Presumably at some point over the next few weeks Lewis will ask for an update in one of the postmtatch interviews.
  14. Good for him. He knows where the net is and has the potential to be a professional footballer, at least in my inexpert opinion.
  15. All you would get is the standard working hard to get bodies in, talking to agents and players, etc. Even if a manager expects something to happen imminently they rarely comment in case an expected deal falls through and they end up looking silly. The only question you might get an answer on is where he was looking to strengthen but I think it's pretty obvious that we need more up front. There's a meeting with FSS members and the management team on Thursday. I'm guessing recruitment will be the first question everyone wants to ask about so you'll get an update soon enough.
  16. He signed a professional contract with Falkirk in the summer of 2017 and got a two year deal, so he wasn't personally affected by the closure of academy in December 2017. He was amongst the final batch of FVFA graduates. He asked to leave in January 2018 and immediately signed for Celtic.
  17. He was attacking someone or other and got a response calling him a crook. I don't think he's posted since. The newspaper article detailing his conviction is still online so I'm guessing he's chosen to keep a low profile.
  18. Didn't notice it until you pointed it out but it's pretty funny. The words "Brad MacKay - the hero" being said on national TV weren't something most expected to hear before the season began. Fair play to him. He's been pretty solid in the last two games.
  19. Wow. I didn't know he'd left us, but then the kids are on a summer break at the moment and I don't see them every week anyway. He was one of our U16 players who became U18s at the start of the season, which I think was around January / February. He's still a wee boy just now - small, slight of frame and can get pushed off the ball - but in my (inexpert) eye he has a fair bit of potential. He's composed in possession, can pick a pass and can finish. He's not first team material at the moment due to his young age but he could well get there in a couple of years. I'm a bit gutted we've lost him tbh.
  20. To your first point - yes it does. Let's assume the poster after you is correct and that he is indeed on an amateur contract. Then he's costing us nothing. No resources are being spent on him and the managers focus is on improving the existing players while he waits for the quality he wants to become available. To your second point - I disagree. Almost all our offensive players were on the park today, which is why Jaime Wilson was first off the bench. Imagine Wilson picking up a knock and being unavailable. Then any one of Nesbitt, Morrison, Oliver, or McGuffie gets clattered during a game and has to be subbed. What would you rather do - play a striker who knows the position, even if he's a young lad - or put Blair Sneddon, Leon McCann or Seb Ross up front? I know what I'd prefer.
  21. McGlynn talks about four games in his FFCTV interview. Eight players players started all four games, with the only changes being the goalies getting two games each, McKay dropping out because his wife had a baby and McGinn gradually getting more gametime as he returned to fitness. I would be surprised if the team wasn't very similar to what you saw against Kilmarnock and Stranraer. The possible exception being a defensive reshuffle with McKay and Henderson now being available for selection again.
  22. Also managed to be invisible in both friendlies, given that I failed to see him in either. Just imagine what we can do with an invisible striker. Opposition won't be able to mark him and linesmen won't be able to call him offside.
  23. No, there's nothing imminent that I've been told of. The only thing I know of tomorrow is the usual two players visiting the Foundation summer camps at the end of the week to hand out medals. That'll be going on for the next six or seven weeks.
  24. Let me assist then. There are no signings planned for today and never were, or at least not that I know of. And I was in this morning for a Foundation sponsorship image. I obviously can't do this every time a rumour gets posted, because some of them do turn out to be accurate. Just as sick boy was when he correctly predicted that we were signing Aidan Keena long before anyone else had a sniff. Unfortunately almost everything he's put up since then he been on a par with this. Cove have played at least two publicised games since returning for preseason and their "signed" goalie of Robbie Mutch has yet to be mentioned.
  25. Game was closed-door so club didn't want any publicity or comment. It's for the manager to discuss (or not if he wishes) at either the weekly press conference or FFCTV interview. I presume there will be one up before the Morton game.
