  1. From what I've seen, the new Hearts stand looks incredibly similar to the rest of the ground. A very basic photo again though. I've been to Easter Road several times and I agree they've done a very good job with their new stand. I'd say it's probably the best stadium in Scotland in a lot of ways. Used to have a good atmosphere when they had section 43 but not sure what it's like now. It's too early to form any kind of opinion when they've only shown half of the stadium. We won't really know what it'll be like until the full proposal is released tomorrow so all this SoullessLegoBowl talk is premature imo. Can't really see anything wrong with the two pictures they've released today either.
  2. Well we've absolutely nailed the different sized stands aspect at Pittodrie. No point in moving now. Will Tynecastle lose its character when it has 4 similar stands next season?
  3. Pittodrie is costing us a lot to maintain and there's very little space to re-develop 3 of the 4 stands on the same footprint without significantly reducing the capacity. The club missed the boat in terms of acquiring land around the ground so this is probably our only option. The money from the sale of Pittodrie is also a major factor and I think we'd struggle to fund replacing three stands in a short space of time.
  4. Looked this up as I was quite interested myself. Don't know how well you know Stirling but apparently it was roughly where the Enterprise Park is now. There's a street called "Player's Road" around about there but I don't know if that's connected. I'd imagine they would have actually played at Kings Park at some point as well.
  5. Most people would say "keen" instead of "ken" in Shetland ("I dunna keen" = "I don't know", "du keens" = "you know" etc). The Shetland dialect is almost a language of its own.
  6. People on twitter who mention: Yer da Goths Fajitas Strongbow Dark Fruits The sesh Lit (as a substitution for "like") Any tweet with a combination of any of the above seem to inexplicably get thousands of retweets.
  7. People using "actual" instead of "actually" is also infuriating, although this doesn't seem to be limited to one part of Scotland.
  8. I think you'll find that the Orcadian accent is the Welsh sounding one. Shetland is mixture of old Scots with some Scandinavian sounds to it as well. The weegie accent is probably the most annoying. The insistence on adding "but" to the end of sentences is odd and the whole "weegie patter" thing is cringeworthy.
  9. Dundalk only got in because they dropped down from the CL qualifiers. They only got in by knocking out 2 clubs then losing in the next round. Out of 96 teams that enter QR1, only 1 or 2 manage to qualify each season. Even once you get to the play-off round there are only 22 spots left and 15 Champions League clubs enter at that stage. The odds are firmly stacked against our clubs in the EL unfortunately.
  10. A point clear in 2nd despite losing 2 out of 3. We actually managed to widen the gap between us and Hearts and St Johnstone. Not bad at all.
  11. Been binge watching this over the last few days. The one where they wrestle for the troops is priceless. Cricket showing up as a terrorist and blowing sand in people's eyes, Frank appearing as the Trashman and maiming Cricket's neck with a bin and claiming victory, the troops' reaction to all this (including the indifference towards the eagles) and of course, Dee turning down the guy because he thinks he's disabled which is typical of the gang f*cking themselves over due to their scumbaggery. Absolute comedy gold. Watching it back and I'm finding episodes that I can't recall exactly from watching the first time round which is a treat.
  12. I'm not sure if that figure includes just the players or all staff. Rangers' first team wage bill for last season was similar to that figure with their total staff costs being double that. If our figure is just the playing squad then it is possible that we were paying similar wages last season to what you were in the Championship. However, according to Rangers' accounts, your playing budget has increased by 60% this season which would completely dwarf what we're paying.
  13. Being in profit for 3 consecutive years and bringing in record turnover without selling a single player is impressive. Great to see the club being managed so well on and off the park.
  14. I'm looking forward to Mick returning to his home planet.
  15. Tbh the big problem for Yes is that a huge majority of over 65's want to stay. The simple option would be to wait a few years until they kick the bucket. A few years in post-EU Britain would help sway opinion too.
  16. I think Birmingham City might struggle a bit to fill a 55,000 seater stadium.
  17. Anyway, enough of this Hearts pish, a few people have likened Maddison's style of play to that of Eoin Jess. I've noticed something quite interesting. Eoin Jess joined Coventry on 23rd February 1996. James Maddison was born in Coventry on 23rd November 1996. Eoin signs for Cov, goes out on the piss with his signing on fee, gets lucky with one of the local ladies, 9 months later Madderz is born. It's no coincidence, James Maddison is Eoin Jess's Coventrian love child.
  18. We may have fewer victories in total but in terms of emphatic pumpings that cause posters to hide from the site for literally months afterwards due to embarrassment we're winning 1-0.
  19. How long until Lee Wallace pulls out of the Scotland squad?
  20. The fact that the SPFL called our second tier "The Championship" is even worse!
  21. I don't know if it's been mentioned in the 1500 odd posts but shouldn't this thread be called "Sportsound Listen"?
  22. A year ago today we beat Celtic with 10 men to go two points clear with a game in hand, on our way to winning our all of our first 8 games. We don't have anything like the form and feel good factor we had then. Massive three games coming up, there'll be a big fallout if we get a negative result in any of them imo.
  23. Correct, I believe the away end toilets were originally from Love Street.
