Have watched the odd episode over the years but didn't realise until i had a look on his channel the other day that he does about 5 shows a week, sometimes 3 in a single day which i find completely mental, do folk actually keep up to date with his stuff or just dip in and out? Either way i find him a bit insufferable at times, know it's a bit of a cliche with him but i really can't hack all the stoner type chat. Started listening to Conflicted off the back of seeing it mentioned here, really interesting so far.

Amusing to hear Bonner continually refer to Callum McGregor as 'young McGregor' despite him being almost 27 and having played over 200 games for Celtic.

Think that was the case aye. Although there's been talk over the years that the tower was meant to be permanent, but was pulled down to avoid it becoming a target/signpost after the war started, not sure if that's ever been confirmed mind.

All quite well known stuff but whenever i see any of the old buildings from the Empire Exhibitions it blows my mind to think they were in Glasgow, particularly the Eastern Palace and Tait Tower.

Just listened to the podcast there, absolutely dreadful. Said it before but none of them are capable of any type of thought/discussion that veers away from cliche fitba man chat. You could genuinely just pull a few boys out the pub who could've had the discussions last night. 'Hearts are in trouble, Celtic looking rampant, Rangers have fallen away since the break' and that was basically it. I'm glad they have ex pros in the studio to point these things out, as i'd never have noticed that Celtic maybe have a winning mentality and that Rangers maybe don't. Michael Stewart could get a bit much now and then but it's becoming clear he was the only one there who was capable of providing any sort of critical discussion or insight. I think they've been largely left behind by the widespread football discussion, blogs and podcasts that you can find on the internet now. Maybe in the past when they were the only real place you'd see/hear footballing discussion, they could get away with just spouting basic nonsense, but now, where there are a fair few articulate folk discussing football elsewhere, they've been shown up for what they are.

I find the manic reaction amongst the presenters and other parts of the media, to the mention of one man's name maybe proves Stewart's point a bit. Having said that i understand why McIntyre had to step in as it's just his job, however he made a bit of an arse of it and it just came out like a blind panic.

Worked with a lad from around the John o' Groats area and he had a proper Irish twang which puzzled him despite being abundantly clear to everyone else.

The borders is a weird one. Geographically a pretty small area but there's a few different accents in there. There's a noticeable difference between Hawick and Galashiels accents for instance, despite only being 18 miles apart. Some folk from Langholm on the other side of Hawick, and the villages closer to the border almost have an English twang too which is weird as f**k to hear. Wasn't aware of the Stranraer accent until i heard Kevin Kyle speak either, has to be up there as one of the strangest accents in the country.

The main man Paul the Tim front and center there, nothing but official club gear for him

Just started listening to 'The Sun King' on Audible which is a wee documentary series about Rupert Murdoch and his rise to power, and how he influenced the US Elections and Brexit. Features a lot of folk who worked with him and is narrated by David Dimbleby so it's worth a listen, interesting and infuriating in equal measure.

Aye, there's definitely hints that the underlying issue for many of the gammon types and the press is that someone of mixed race has married into the Royal Family, you can see it in the way it's reported and the complete unfounded rage some of them seem to have towards her with no reasonable explanation behind it. Saw someone on twitter say that it's just another thing to add to the list of topics ''people weren't angry about until the Daily Mail told them to be'' - alongside the EU, which sums it up for me. You can see with a lot of these folk that they don't have any actual reasons for disliking her but they just know they do.

Know it's not everyone's cup of tea but what started out as an over the top joke on the Open Goal podcast about them playing the Hydro is actually happening. Be interested to see if it sells out or not, fair play to them to be honest.

If there is to be another campaign yer Tommy Sheridan types (as good a speaker as he is) can't be the face of it again imo. As someone who voted and campaigned for Yes last time the whole movement became infested with moon howlers who's inferiority complex towards England overpowered positive aspects of what we could have been like as an Independent nation. You still see these folk on Twitter replying in their masses to anyone who dares to criticise the SNP at all. That type of attitude put a lot of folk i know off of the movement, even though Sturgeon and Salmond tried to distance themselves from it.

I'd hope so but if we voted no twice in the space of 5-10 years i think it'd essentially be put to bed.

I think folk are maybe kidding themselves on about how big the support for a Yes vote would be imo. The folk who voted no are still there and the amount of folk who've changed their minds is nowhere near as big as folk think. The so-called Bigot vote still exists, plus you have the places up north who want Brexit due to the fishing situation and the elderly generation are still overwhelmingly in support of No. I'd rather the referendum was called when we were very confident of a Yes vote instead of using the campaign to try and push it over the line. Maybe best to wait a wee while to watch the shitshow in England unfurl which would surely increase support for the Yes vote. I get the thinking of striking whilst the iron's hot but if it was rejected this time we wouldn't get another go at it for at least 50 years, need to be certain before we call the vote. Never know, a few hard winters might do the trick eh

The borders is one of the least politically engaged areas of the country and most folk just vote for John Lamont because he's been about forever and is a bit of a familiar face, without really thinking of what party he supports. Also the weird mix of posh farmer types and deprivation in other areas makes it a pretty backwards area

He wasn't bad when he came on and put in a couple of decent balls. They're a shambles though so it's hardly the best environment to settle into the Premier League

Enjoyed both of McQueer's books and his other online blogs are good too. Don't think those particular stories translated too well in that format though.

Johnson getting to avoid his interview with Andrew Neil is a joke. Should have recorded them all and not released any until they were all done. Them telling Labour Johnson had agreed should be a massive story and cause outrage but as per it will just be forgotten. The tories have had about ten complete howlers this campaign that would've ended any other party but the reality is they're pretty much untouchable and the folk who vote for them won't have their minds changed regardless of what happens. Whole thing's went far too partisan for things to change at this point imo, on both sides arguably.

Line up's a bit samey. Know it's meant as a replacement for T, but it still feels like a level down from T line up wise, especially headliners, even with T's last few line ups. T used to trade headliners with Glastonbury but i think TRNSMT is a fair bit below that. Capaldi's played every single year, and it'll be his third year in a row on the main stage. Although i suppose with him being one of the biggest artists in the world just now, Scottish and playing festivals next year it was a bit of a no-brainer to have him headlining one of the pop days

Started listening to the Quickly Kevin 90s football podcast, it's mostly interviews with 90s players but they've also done run throughs of Steve Bruce's crime thriller novels he wrote back in the day. I'm on the last one at the moment and they've been probably my favourite podcast episodes ever, been just about crying laughing at all of them. Edit: Just noticed they've been mentioned on the last page. Well worth getting into

Peter Grant is typical of the Sportsound fitba man chat. His vocabulary doesn't extend beyond cliches he's heard other folk say on TV and just repeats them when he's questioned on something, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Obviously Michael Stewart can be a bit grating but he made him look like a numpty by just being half coherent and logical. What's more worrying is that folk like Peter Grant are still getting decent jobs in the national set up. God knows what it must be like for some of the players playing in top English sides and pro youth academies to come to international duty and deal with folk like that.

They'd also make much more money in tourism if they chucked them and opened up Buckingham Palace as an attraction for £15 a go
