  1. Possibly both. E-marketing consultants can charge a fortune to get a client trending on Twitter. Then there is the huge coverage in the online media too. There has been a lot of criticism, especially from the "serious" (i.e. boring) press - Tory graph, Indy, Gruaniad and Auntie Beeb.
  2. T-shirts and sweatshirts would sell well. Masks and hoods for kids would be even better. Imagine the sales at Hollowe'en!
  3. This. It's very disappointing to lose him to a League Two side.
  4. More from Twitter. Jose Bosingwa? Must be the replacement for SOD!
  5. From Sky News "former Scottish Labour Party leader Johann Lamont wrote: "May be swimming against the tide here but I like it." Another Labour voice also chimed in with support - Tony Blair's former spokesman Alistair Campbell said: "Like it. Ignore the knockers." Oh dear!
  6. Looking forward to seeing Kingsley masks for sale on the club website.
  7. Why not if he's fit and still good enough - even if it's only as back-up or on the bench? He's younger than Luca Toni who has just finished joint top scorer in Serie A. There have been lots of players who have played at high level in their late 30s or even early 40s.
  8. Wilkinson's hard tackling style should attract offers from the Championship at the very least. Tony Pulis, who gave him a new deal at Stoke, may be interested in taking him to West Brom. Andre Wisdom has returned to Liverpool after his loan so Pulis will want to add a right back to his squad. Hope Wilkinson gets fixed up soon. He has been very complimentary about the Jags interviews and loved his time at Firhill. Also pleased that Graham Dorrans is back in the EPL next season with Norwich City. He did very well for us too.
  9. TTL will be preparing the site for the launch of the new strips. IIRC it happened last year too around this time. Any remaining strips from this season should be available at rock bottom prices.
  10. ^ Fair points. Rossvale's home is Huntershill. It's the logical site for a home ground as it has more than the the necessary space. However, the council's £3m development plans for Huntershill include a new running track and tennis courts. Even a modest stand or terrace would be an expensive, and potentially controversial, addition.
  11. FIFA did not have time to erase all the computer files before the police raid. The Attorney General's Office's statement said that they had enough evidence to begin criminal proceedings. The Swiss Banks will have to co-operate too. This is just the beginning of the end for Blatter and his allies.
  12. In January, it would probably have to a loan player coming in. There will not be many, if any, suitable free agents available. The manager will have until late August to assess Scully. If Gallacher decides to move on, he will need to bring in a quality replacement quickly.
  13. Bishopbriggs has a population around 23 to 25k - no team senior and mainly Old Firm/Jags fans. Kirkintilloch has population of around 20k and has Rob Roy. The Briggs should have a Junior team at least.
  14. "Blatter & Co" will not be in control for much longer. It's possible that FIFA could be wound up and replaced by a new governing body. It just requires member associations to resign from FIFA and join the new organisation. Another possibility is that there could be a split, i.e. a breakaway from FIFA.
  15. Thanks. I had not realised that Jack Warner's son had pleaded guilty. "On July 15, 2013, the defendant Daryll Warner, son of defendant Jack Warner and a former FIFA development officer, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a two-count information charging him with wire fraud and the structuring of financial transactions. "On Oct. 25, 2013, the defendant Daryan Warner waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a three-count information charging him with wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and the structuring of financial transactions. Daryan Warner forfeited over $1.1 million around the time of his plea and has agreed to pay a second forfeiture money judgment at the time of sentencing." Wow!
  16. Very true but it's now a criminal matter for the Attorney General of Switzerland.
  17. That what the Swiss investigation, announced today, is about. "The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) has opened criminal proceedings against persons unknown on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and of money laundering in connection with the allocation of the 2018 and 2022 Football World Cups. In the course of said proceedings, electronic data and documents were seized today at FIFA’s head office in Zurich."
  18. The Americans will not allow the big boys to wriggle out. It would be a massive international humiliation. The Swiss investigation could catch even bigger fry. The big issue is whether Russia and Qatar will lose their World Cups. Putin would also regard it as a massive humiliation. This is a big fight and it's going to get very bloody.
  19. This could be another example of the French just ignoring EU law when it suits them. Edited to put the thread back on track. How quickly could a new bidding process be held if the Russians and Qataris lose their World Cups following the Swiss corruption investigation?
  20. Are you sure about that? There is an EU-US extradition agreement but Member States can have additional bilateral agreements. Article 4 below appears to contradict you. "1. An offence shall be an extraditable offence if it is punishable under the laws of the requesting and requested States by deprivation of liberty for a maximum period of more than one year or by a more severe penalty. An offence shall also be an extraditable offence if it consists of an attempt or conspiracy to commit, or participation in the commission of, an extraditable offence. Where the request is for enforcement of the sentence of a person convicted of an extraditable offence, the deprivation of liberty remaining to be served must be at least four months." IIRC Britain has a more powerful bilateral extradition treaty with the US which is biased in the Americans' favour.
