This. Greipel has found his best form this year. He's been impressive in the intermediate sprints too. Sagan has been doing domestique work for Contador too. Otherwise he could have won yesterday. I'm very disappointed with Cavendish in the stages so far. His partnership with Mark Renshaw as his last lead-out man has lost its usual reliability. With his QS contract ending this year, Cav has to win at least two stages. Kittel (if fully fit and selected) would have challenged Greipel, Cav and Sagan on the very flat stages.

Brian Cookson, the new UCI chief, is trying to clean up cycling but he's got a tough job. The UCI was run by Hein Verbruggen and Pat McQuaid during the PhArmstrong era. Doping has been rife for decades but it got a lot worse when they ran the sport. The big problem is that a lot of teams are run by ex dopers or employ ex dopers as Sporting Directors or coaches. There are lot of other sports which need to deal with doping, especially tennis which has very little out-of-competition testing.
