    Why don’t u go ahead and take a refs course with your local association. Show everyone how it’s done? There’s a huge shortage at all grass roots levels so another one would be a big help. Then you can come in and criticise when u actually understand the laws that the refs are trying to enforce!

    The issue on that day was it was 2 days after the ref association meeting where it was drilled into us about dissent and that kinda nonsense. That would’ve been his 1st game with that fresh in the head. He could easily have been getting assessed too. It’s a few weeks later and you will likely find he’s calmed down a bit. It was a stupid red for Carlo and hopefully Stevie does tell them not to do anything daft to risk another silly suspension.

    That’s not exactly true. There is no ‘interpretation of the law’. The laws are the laws. There are amendments each year from the ifab which are what is explained to clubs at the start of the season. The SFA and the associations also run coaching sessions for all qualified refs throughout the year. The ifab handbook gives the definition and explanation for all 17 laws of the game, that is what all FAs and registered referees must follow.
