    It may be the case that EK are the only team willing or able to pay a fee of any sort. The peri peri pound was used significantly at Darvel and I’m sure EK won’t be shy in throwing money around too. I know Montrose paid a fee for Hester but who realistically in L1 or L2 is paying fees for players? If QoS are the only ones interested but unwilling to pay then it may well be he needs to drop down if he wants to go.

    If we have a squad of 20 already signed up (going by the above) I wouldn’t expect to see anymore before the league cup kicks off. No doubt we will see a few trialist a in the friendlies but unless they blow Faz away I can’t see us running with a much bigger squad than that.

    EKYM have 2 amateur sides and an over 35s side. Having 50 signed players between 2 teams is not overkill, 25 each team! I’d actually say that’s maybe less than a lot of others! considering leagues allow 5 from 7 subs a match day squad of 18 is a regular occurrence for most top teams. If you limited teams to signing players then you will find teams not fulfilling fixtures when a number are unavailable. Players not selected week in week out are free to leave and be released as long as they don’t owe the club any money so I don’t think teams ‘hoarding’ players is a major issue.

    Absolutely, I don’t blame them and i would be equally as pissed off. I was just clarifying that ‘cheated’ is maybe a bit strong considering everything done by the league was within the constitution however stinky it may seem.

    Apparently there is nothing sinister in this (I mean that they can’t afford it). They are in dispute with OG about the payments. Doesnt look great though as they should be making their players good before signing anyone else and taking up wage disputes.

    They weren’t cheated exactly, was a poor way for league to end. The league made a total arse of it but what happened was within the constitution as unfair as it is.

    It was my understanding that St Pats had an agreement to use the Astro at Argyll (subject to some modifications) for a year before moving to posties once its upgrades are complete. St Pats are would comfortably win the 4th division with their current team and more than likely the 3rd, so would assume in the intrests of self preservation that clubs in those divisions maybe weren’t too keen and saw knightswood as less of a threat. Can’t imagine the Vale being too impressed with their application seeing as they were commandeering the Argyll where all VoL pathway teams train and play! Knightswoods u-18 team are excellent and with a few experienced players could easily compete at the lower end of WOS level, I’d be surprised if many of the current Amateur players played even though it’s that team technically moving. They also have their own park in construction which will be ready very soon. although they haven’t a particularly strong adult side just now, they have the pathway and infrastructure which St Pats arguably don’t.

    Pleslie999 beats mackieboz by resignation. a Queen blunder was the end, was tight up until that point, realised after I took the free rook after the Queen that I had mate in 2 had I ignored the rook. Good game thanks
