  1. When you think about it, didnt the club say the season tickets sold double or treble or something this season ? Perhaps a lot of "new timers" who are only going to make their season tickets worth the money !
  2. Thing that gets me r.e the BOD (and before i say this i suppose credit is to be giving where its due for helping from the as said "off field" situations), however how far into the future are they really looking ? From where i stand, currently under this Murray dross and ignoring what the fans want, season tickets are bound to collapse next season probably as high as 50%+ due to so many buying this season and deciding not to re-buy after 2 of the big 3 leave the league ... How does that stand well for us financially ....
  3. Has McKay really been that bad ? I seen him on his debut and he looked ok, bit pacey, no real end product though but still perhaps not great, but not utterly horrendous ... Haven't seen any other games due to being away, so is the genuine feeling he is a dud !?
  4. This is what bemuses me even more ... Going through this thread so far this season it has been littered with Cowden fans all saying how good/great/brilliant/consistent/awesome he was for them, and whilst im not debating he may have been great last season, it makes me question what the hell has went wrong with him this season ! Perhaps he just likes the other side of Fife a touch more You would think the fact Conroy can play LB we would shove him their for a game or 3 and start McKay LM, perhaps that would give McKeown the boot up the rear end that he needs ! Obviously Murrays not that smart though ...
  5. Don't forget losing 4 at home to QOS, 2 Vs 10 men & 4 Vs York pre season ... Losing 4+ Goals is becoming a habit with no lessons being learned. Like i said in the Gers V Raith thread, i don't ever expect to beat and probably not even draw with these teams, but when clubs such as Alloa, Livi, Dumbarton and Cowdung are making a game of it and nicking points, even winning the odd game or 2, there is absolutely zero reason we should be getting smashed every time. I gave Murray the first round of games before judging & whilst our position is good, our performances and progress are absolutely horrendous. I think its best for all now if Murray goes, the fans aren't happy (most of them), attendances are getting lower & lower (will we even get over 1000 for Cowdung/Alloa home games ?), the football is 90 minute worth of punts to Nade for him to lose the 50/50 and possession and we are playing constant 4-5-1 defensive formations with a defence who cant defend and a young keeper .... Enough's enough, time for a change.
  6. Great post, the exact boat I'm in. I have spoken out about how I felt & still feel the manner of the performance in the defeats to Hearts/Gers/Dundee are far from acceptable, especially seeing Falkirk/QOS/Alloa/Dbarton/Livi all give them runs for their money .... However I also left last season behind at last season with a view to focus on this one. I said he has the first round of fixtures to prove his worth and whilst the performances have perhaps been on and off, the results have been pleasing so credit where it is due ! Happy so far
  7. I still think this seasons away strip is an absolute cracker, probably one of my favorites ! Adidas do make nice strips though, Scotland's is always nice looking, Germany's is also usually always nice !
  8. 23+15=38 Points which would have put them joint with Partick, so 8th/9th with them being 1 or 2 points off 7th ... As i said, "about" 7th as i was going off the top of my head !
  9. I came into the season with the same optimism about all 3, and with Hibs & Rangers I would still agree and say there's nothing special about them and yes it is all in the mind and points are there to be nicked ... However i disagree on Hearts, they look a complete different force this season ! I will not be surprised to see them walk it, lets not forget if it wasn't for their admin points deduction they would have finished about 7th last season and still be in the SPL .... Onto another note with Nade, am i the only one who hopes hes not just flung straight back in ? Stewart & Vaughen both got their goals at the weekend so I would like to think Murray sees it fair they get a run together ! Might calm us down with the "hoof the ball to Nade" tactics to !
  10. On the plus side, perhaps this season we will have all our injuries at the start of the season (which we have coped with so far) and not have a 9 man squad come January haha !
  11. How so ? There are various different types of training that the players can be doing ... Its not exactly like i said "they should be doing 6 hours of sprints every single day 5 days a week" ? Training can differ from fitness, ball control, set pieces whether its attacking or defending, free kicks, penalty's, general drills, spin classes, swimming, learning about nutrition and how their diets should be, gym work whether its cardio or weight training or even something as simple as stretch training to improve flexibility and help delay muscle fatigue ? There are hundreds of different ways players can improve their health, fitness, physique, diet & nutrition that can all be put into a structure where it sees them do heavier sprint/drilled type training from mon-wed with a odd day off and more simpler, less fitness based gym/diet/stretch work at the end of the week ...
  12. Wasn't getting the use of the Michael Woods center not supposed to take our training to the "next level" ? I remember reading some quote along that line LOL .... For the full time lads though (pretty much everyone if im not mistaken ?) they really should be training 5 days a week, and for at least 6 hours a day ... Highly doubt they are at that level, but it is their "job" at the end of the day so i don't see why they shouldn't be that intense ...
  13. I would assume so ! Thats part of the reason i dislike "Youtube Players" or whatever you wish to call them ... You can make anyone look good using 5% good footage cut away from the 95% crap ... However still gives an idea he seems pacey and two footed, Stewart's pace has been something thats worked well Vs the PT defenses this season so far, be nice to have 2 pacey lads !
  14. Never a fan of "Youtube Players", i believe you can make anyone look good via Youtube footage .... However this was posted on fan talk, few screamers in there, seems 2 footed and pretty pacey on BOTH wings ... Could turn out ok !
  15. No comments from me, cant say i recall seeing him play so im unsure what we have got ... Perhaps also worth noting to the lads a tad confused about this signing, 95% of the fan base ripped on Mark Stewart and questioned what the hell Murray was doing signing him, yet hes probably (with Conroy) been our best signing/player so far this season ... I'll reserve judgement until the lad has played a game or 5 ! Extra body on the bench none the less
  16. I would be happy to grab a full back for cover and another striker to be honest ! Would be delighted to grab a young fearless winger who will drive at people aswell, but Murray will probably sign none of the above and add another keeper knowing his logic hahaha ! Serious though, i didnt think about the fact we normally loan from Edinburghs two and now they are in with us, that to me makes it more obvious we probably wont be adding ... If we do in the above positions ill be delighted, but i personally cant see it !
  17. I'd be surprised to see any action for us to be honest ! Usually we grab a loan signing or 3 but it appears to me Murray is happy with whats hes got, whether or not that's a good thing we will have to wait and see haha
  18. Happy at that ... I always said i was very much in the boat to give Murray a chance if we indeed beat Dumbarton, Alloa and Cowdung, even if it did mean losing to Hearts and Rangers (Although thats not actually happened yet obviously: I'd actually be hoping we can get riled up this time around and perhaps steal something !) .... As disappointing as the Cup games have been (Dunf/Dundee) and that battering to Hearts, we are winning the league games we should be and can now hopefully focus on the league only ... Still wont get carried away as the bigger picture still doesnt look great E.G 9 wins in 35 or something, but its a step in the right direction ... Lets hope this time we build on this, starting Vs Gers !
  19. When did we become the new Arsenal ? Im not at all blaming management for our injuries problems, but now Perry is off injured to ... 1/2 of the team is on the sideline injured !!
  20. Link here - http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/hearts-won-t-force-david-smith-and-scott-robinson-out-1-3523153 Small extract about Smith: "Kilmarnock are interested in taking Robinson, known to his team-mates as ‘Pum’, to Rugby Park, whilst Raith Rovers are thought to be keen on Smith."
  21. Paper talk saying David Smith looks to be on his way back to us ... Unsure how i feel about this, if we are making any signings it should be full back cover or a striker who has scored at this level, not really sure why we need another midfielder/attacker/striker who cant score ...
  22. Im sort of in this boat, dont get me wrong, im getting sick of seeing 11 lads on the field who have the fight of a mouse in them, but at the minute the results we would have hoped for have happened (beating Dumbarton & Alloa) so we are grinding them out when needed. Lets face it, nobody could have expected us to cope with Hearts or Dundee surely ? My only groan thus far like i've said previous, is losing 8 Goals in 2 matches, that is ludicrous and never has been or will be acceptable in my mind, so yes something has to be fixed there and fixed before saturday ... However if we beat Cowdung thats 3/4 League wins with our only loss being to by far the best team in this League ... If you told me that would be our start this season at the tail end of last, i would have bit your hand off for it, as im sure would 95% of the fans ...
  23. Yeah i do agree with most of that i suppose ... I actually thought Bates looked not to bad in the pre-season friendly's i went to & i do rate Vaughen highly - he can definitely be a good player for us. As you say though, that still questions where will the goals come from ... Perry im 50/50 on, he hasnt done much "wrong" so to speak in the way or individual errors that i can recall (i could be wrong?) but he is one of these "hit and hoof" type players that lacks composure ! I have been surprised we havent done any loan deals what so ever this season, having 2 or 3 is the norm for us ! We may well need them now ...
  24. Oddly enough Mark Stewart is probably one of our better players so far this season, understandably he was dogs**t elsewhere, including at you lads at Dundee, but for me out of the new signings Stewart & Conroy are the only 2 that have pass marks in the opening 5 or 6 games ! Not great we could possibly have another 2 injuries, which now means we could be looking at Stewart/Vaughen up-top with Ellis/Watson as the Cbs this weekend .... More worryingly so, will we even have 5 lads to fill the bench or should one of us be looking to get our boots out !?
